This is a fantastic Villa. Pictures do not do it justice. Huge garden and patio area, good sized swimming pool with views over Puerto del Carmen and as far as Fuerteventura. Superb location up in the hillside village of Macher just a 3 min drive from PDC. Perfect location to explore the island. You will probably want a car but the main bus route is 1 minute away.
Puerto Callero 3 min drive away is a nice marina with some very smart restaurants and bars well worth a visit.
Juan Pablo and Alfonso who manage the property are very helpful, friendly, speak perfect English and were only a call away when required. Clean towels mid stay and pool cleaned every couple of days. Couldn't ask for more.
Only 2 days back from our stay and we have booked up for next year despite saying we would never visit the same place 2 years in a row.
Can't wait to get back to Lanzarote and especially Villa Mauro and Macher. Loved every minute of it.
(Oh btw went Scuba diving with Manta Diving down at Playa Chica in PDC and they were superb also. Our instructor George was great so we went back for a second dive with him).
Well equipped and comfortable villa with a lovely view of the sea. We stayed for a week with our three children (9,6 & 3). Excellent heated swimming pool although worth noting that it is deep throughout (no shallow end). The villa proved an excellent base for exploring the island - relatively close to the Timanfaya volcano and the dramatic West coast close to El Golfo down to the beaches at Papagayo. We also went to Famara beach on the North coast which was less than half an hour (and worth the trip for the expansive sandy beach). It is also 5 minutes drive from Puerto del Carmen which has some OK restaurants in the port and Puerto Calero which is a more upmarket experience. There is a main road (one lane in each direction) just below the villa but the drone of traffic is not that big a deal given there is usually quite a strong breeze. All in all, highly recommended and Juan Pablo and his team went out of their way to make sure that we had as enjoyable a stay as possible (and left bread on the gate of the villa each morning!).
