Just reviewing the restaurant. Had a meal with friends there and ordered fondue. It wasn't put together very well- too runny and 'bitty'. A nice evening nonetheless; hosts were very welcoming, more so than wait staff.
Not cheap either.

I really want to like this place more, but it's not quite there yet.

We stayed here in March on the recommendation of a friend and we were not disappointed. Now run by an English couple Harry and Liz the bedrooms are clean and cosy not overly large but after a day on the mountain all you want is a warm meal, a good drink and a cosy and clean bed and this place ticks all those boxes and more! Will definitely return.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front have the best views.

The couple running this hotel have apparently only been here for 18 months but you can tell that they have and are making many improvements to the fixtures and fittings with refurbished bathrooms and comfortable bed linen.La Tzoumaz is beautiful even with no snow and the mountains are spectacular. We took the chair lift up to the Savolyeres and then had lunch at Coix de Courer before a gentle decent by foot and then back to Les Fougeres for a well deserved sleep. Would have no hesitation in recommending this place for a few nights in the area. I would imagine that in the ski season the open fires add to the atmosphere. Great stay.

I've just got back from a long weekend in La Tzoumaz skiing and had an amazing time. Les Fougeres couldn't have been any more convenient and welcoming. The hotel is about 100 - 200m away from the cable car station and you can either walk or catch the bus which stops just outside the hotel. Within a stones through from the hotel is a couple of ski hire shops and directly underneath is a very handy supermarket. Although La Tzoumaz is small it has everything you need for a ski trip, a few restaurants, a small pool, children's club and more importantly great slopes. The slopes were just beautiful and there is the choice of sticking to the La Tzoumaz ski slopes or going over to Verbier slopes for a little extra cost. The ski conditions were incredible, the powder was like icing sugar, the slopes weren’t overcrowded and there was a good range for all abilities, including lots of off piste.

The hotel itself was really beautiful, log fires and comfortable furnishings created a really nice atmosphere to come back to after a day on the slopes. The owners were happy to put on the rugby so we could watch the game. The food was also great there. A traditional breakfast of fresh bread, ham, cheese, eggs and a good evening menu. The French onion soup was out of this world!

My sister and I have recently returned from our stay at les fougeres and what a wonderful stay it was!! We had vacationed here before during previous ownership and the overall review I would have given then would have been "mediocre" and "average", so it was an absolute delight to see the complete transformation the place has undergone!! We stayed in a front facing room which, along with the rest of the hotel, was immaculate and extremely comfortable with beautiful decor throughout.. Not to mention the stunning views!!! I found the staff very welcoming, friendly and professional! Extremely helpful with any questions I had due to a great knowledge of the surrounding area.. The restaurant I found well priced given the area and superb quality of the food being produced.. Everything we had was of a premium standard and clearly made with very fresh produce.. My personal favourite was the salmon!! We did dine out a couple of times so I can say that in comparison to les fougeres, I found the food and quality for money elsewhere to be substandard.. With such a fantastic central location as well, i have to say, les fougeres really is superior!!! Cannot wait for our return trip and well done on such a fine transformation!!!!

I too stayed at les fougeres over the new year/beginning of January period and the all round service provided could not have been better! Great selection of drinks. From local wines to Scottish malt whisky! Too add, the food was also well presented and tasted great too! Also in a great location, ideal if you are a keen skier as it is only a 5min walk to the gondola which takes you up the mountain! I personally have no objections to the price charged as "roccasecca" mentioned above. You are in Switzerland for goodness sake. I wouldn't expect to pay anything less than 50 CHF per head. Will definitely be bringing my family and friends back in the near future...
