Sultan's Beach Hotel
Ranked #11 of 23 Hotels in Camyuva
Reviewed 20 November 2009

Rooms are clean & standard and could do with a brush of paint. Restaurant is not very good, the choice & quality of food is poor. The entertainment is loud and not at all entertaining. This hotel caters for mainly Russians. There is a disco in the hotel which is 1 room full of smoke, where the drinks cost an arm & a leg. The pool area and gardens are kept well and clean. What lets the hotel down is the restaurant, no choice and the bar snacks are pizzas, hamburgers & chips. The beach is pebbles and shingles with little everywhere. In the village of Camyuva there are only 2 restaurants and 3 bars that I found, so if the food is terrible and you want to eat out there is not much choice. In Camyuva is full of shops selling handbags & crafts, all the same.
I would not recommend this hotel or resort, there are far more nicer resorts & hotels to visit in Turkey. Camyuva is tatty and bleak.

Seven of us have just returned from this very nice clean hotel we arrived at about 10.30 pm and were treated very well by reception they gave us a meal and took us to our lovely rooms, the maids cleaned the rooms everyday and left nice touches to the rooms with sweet smelling spray and flower petals on the beds one day and made some wonderful things out of the sheets i.e swans ,hearts flowers .
The waiters were very helpful and we made friends with three in paticular they all work very hard .
The food however was not a great deal of choice lots of repeats the manager seemed to do a lot of walking round the hotel but didnt really seem to be concerned or even appologetic about some critisisim, very little or nothing to choose from our nine year old lived on rice and bread and sponge cake at lunch and evening meals.luckily they do pizza in the afternoons which kept him going .(spongecakes were fantastic)

The hotel did not seem to acknowldge the english at all really unless you call the guy that played 50cent swearing tracks on the cd player not very pleasent when your relaxing by the great pool with a nine year old child .There was no annimation team, we heard from the only english couple there that the annimation team had a dissagreement with managment and left the day we arrived so nothing for kids, not many kids there either at all and because it was all geared to russians there was nothing for adults either as we didnt understand anything that the evening entertainers said . there was one evening there was a great fireater though and the belly dancers wernt bad.
The beach was only 2 minutes walk and very nice but you have to get there early to get a bed and then by 11.30 everyone seems to clear off to get ready for lunch and you dont seem to see people coming back again untill around 3 pm .
All considered it was a very nice clean hotel and the staff all work very hard to keep it that way ,i would not go back there because of the problems we encountered with lack of english company dont get me wrong i dont like going on holiday to be with lots of english but 2 more families might have been a bit more entertaining .

On the face of it The Sultans Beach Hotel has a good record from others who have stayed there. My opinion is that due to a management decision the locals nickname for the Hotel is well founded. It has become 'The Russian Beach'
TWe were the only English family at a full hotel of which 90% of the guests were Russian, The russians are very much overtaking other nationalities for bad reputations. They are genarally rude they block sun beds all day with towels placed out as early as 6am! They then go off to the beach all day.
There manners are non existant and seem to be happy to eat the same All inclusive buffet each day many of the dishes recycled from the day before.
The Hotel staff do not to like them very much but dont seem to know how to deal with them.
However some of the staff especially the entertainment staff would be better off as interpreters in england as they were brilliant in speaking both English , Russian, German and italian, They were the higlight of the holiday, the in house turkish bath was severely understaffed and when the Hotel management were questioned they simply shruged. The staff in the Turkish bath did all they could but because of the way the Russians behaved, demanding attention, getting a proper Turkish bath was near impossible.
The food on occassion was very good but as stated before some dishes ended up being recycled. eg Chips from Dinner ended up at Breakfast!
The All inclusive day started at 10am and finished at 11pm and not 11:30 as promised prior to arrival. Too early in our opinion.
In conclusion if you wish to experience a multinational atmosphere without the fear of landing yourself with a load of larger louts then the Sultans beach is the place for you. If not stay well clear.

Overall our stay at the Sultans Beach Hotel was an enjoyable experience.
The pluses: beautiful and very, very clean hotel
very friendly staff
gorgeous bedrooms and very well serviced
great animation team
lovely pool area
The negs: we were the only english family there
food was very disappointing,
all inclusive option was very limited
beach bar wasn't open
staff spoke very little english or none at all
not much for children
all in all we did have a very good holiday and I think it would be a different experience if we had gone in August when the hotel was full as opposed to the last week of the season where they seemed as though they just wanted to be packed up and finished. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to families although the animation team did everything they could to keep my brood entertained.

We (my husband and I, 24yrs) returned from a very relaxing week stay at this hotel. We arrived around 5am in the morning very tired and were made to feel very welcome, check in was fast and everyone was friendly and we were taken to our room. The staff did have very limited english but you could usually find out what you wanted to know. The room was very clean, the wardrobe very large, there was a fridge and balcony - although this was small it was all we needed. the bathroom was clean and we had clean towels everyday even though we were told it would only be 3 times a week , so a nice surprise. The weather was very hot (41) whilst we were there and the air con was a god send!!
The service at the bar and restraunt was fab the waiters were very friendly and made sure you always had a drink. We thought the all inclusive was excellent value for money. The food was good, there were salads, soups, and around 5/6 different main dishes every day - the only one that was repeated everyday was the basic salad (tomatoe, onion, cucumber etc) (however there were different ranges of potato and pasta salads everyday) and something resembling bolognaise (it looked meat free too- so always a back up) the choice for veggies was very good along as meat eaters. The deserts looked lovely - cakes and various different thingslots of choice along with the fruit. I have to eat a dairy free diet and the choice was far more than i expected and the chefs were always willing to help if i could not find anything and they understood about food allergies even given their very limited english. The animation team were great too . The hotel was literally a 2 min walk from the hotel pool although it wasn't sand it was pebble it was very clean and the watersports available were great. We went on a yacht tour which was very enetertaining well worth the £10 each. The main population of the hotel were russian who can be rather rude and they never formed a que for the food they just moved people out of the way - but this by no means spoiled anything - in fact we found it quite amusing really!
We didn't pay much for our holiday and got it as a late deal through teletext so were very pleased as we weren't expecting much even though it was advertised as a 4* hotel. We think it lived up to somewhere around this maybe a 3*+ -4* but don't let that put you off - the gardens were beautiful the service was great and the food and rooms were great too.
This hotel is based in camyuva which is just outside kemer this has a few little shops, kemer was larger and easily accessible via a dolmus ( local bus) very cheaply. The hotel runs a turkish bath tour for around £17 each which was amazing it included; sauna, steam room, jaccuzi, peeling and scrub, massage, facial and full body oil massage - best done at the start of the hol to aid tanning not when you have sunburn as some people did which looked very painful!!
We went from kemer to beldebi which has a large bazzar and carnival which is a large market which we believe is on everyday and you can get all your souvenirs here slightly cheaper. We also went on a tour to antalya ( the city) which was 1 hour away from the hotel which for £7 each was cheap - the waterfalls were fab, the jewellery workshop and store is great (more so for the women - men have your wallets ready!) the lunch was in a lovely restraunt on the marina which the food was well worth the money 18 lira each however they don't tell you the drink prices which are very expernsive for the ammount (around £2.80 for half a pint of beer and the same for water!!). We were taken to the shops for an hour and a half and although there were lots of shops the tour advertised a market which this was not so not alot to buy but good anyway. The sand city they took us to wasn't up to much literally some concrete structures with sand thrown on them. The last stop was minicity which was miniture buildings which were lovely to look at, however, they were of buildings in istanbul which meant absolutely nothing to us (may have been more appropriate there). All in all it was a good day - no good for kids though as the one child who had been brought was very bored - poor boy!
Overall, the holiday was great in every way - value for money, cleanliness and service. We are going back next year - we hope!
