“Lovely corfiot home cooking”
Reviewed 20 September 2012

Stayed here for two weeks recently and ate on several occasions, big portions, delicious tender meat dishes. Agnes cooks her own fresh eggs from her chickens in the mornings and you can often see her preparing the vegetables in the morning for her evening meals. The whole family work long long hours, 8am till midnight sometimes, providing a cheerful service all day. Leon the bulldog is also quite a character although won't interrupt your meal. Will definitely return when were back in corfu

“Hard not to enjoy”
Reviewed 12 September 2012

We drove upto Pelekas hoping to see the sunset as recommended in the guide book. We got there pretty much as it was getting dark. Also the guidebook recommended Agnes Taverna. We ordered White Mullet and Pastitsada. While we were waiting we had a wander over to see the view. It was quite high up and the view wasn't bad. When the food came it was a treat. The seating area was pretty much in the centre of Pelekas and it was a good place to sit and watch the goings on. The dessert was also very nice with an Icecream creation called a temptation. We went away feeling spoilt. We had a walk up the hill and saw more Tavernas and they all looked like places We'd love to eat at. Better than the offerings of Gouvia and classier.

“Great place for watching everyday Corfu village life.”
Reviewed 21 August 2012

While exploring Pelekas we found this taverna on the central square. The waitress was very friendly with exceptional sense of humor. We had grilled fish (dorada) and it was quite good. The place is very relaxing, due to location, one can seat, drink retsina or beer and observe slow local life, people, cats and dog, especially one dog - English bulldog Leon, extremely phlegmatic and friendly.

“Ok food, nice service”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

We've been trying all restaurants in Pelekas.
Agnes's restaurant provides quite good food. Not perfect - but good.
Try fresh fish and calmari - both are good.

“Central location, not great otherwise”
Reviewed 31 May 2012

Visited in low season which may explain our experiences, but the service wasn't great and was not the usual warm Greek hospitality you experience elsewhere. The food seemed cheaper than other places in Pelekas however the meals we had we were not keen on and didn't really enjoy. It seems popular with the locals for drinking and on some nights had a good crowd eating too so perhaps we were unlucky with our choices and may be things are better in the peak season.
