Booked as a last minute escape with husband. Was told it was officially a 5* and thomas cook rated it as 4* which is probably more closer to the reality. It was a nice enough resort- stunning views and a beautiful beach. The staff were lovely and accomodating. The rooms were pleasant, clean and suffice but we were attacked by mosquitoes quite badly even when having the doors closed at all times.
The food was ok- breakfast being the best meal so meaning you had to be awake by 9 at the latest. We are vegetarian so let me warn all the fellow veggies be prepared to eat salad and bread rolls! All the food was put into warmer dishes which by the time you took it to your table it was cold. There was hardly anything for proper veggies that do not eat fish or egg. I have to say though that the manager of the restaurant tried to get the cook to make stuff for us on one night but that was it. The all inclusive wasnt all that it shouldve been as you couldnt get room service of the meals, breakfast finished at 10 and dinner was done by 9:30pm. The afternoon tea was just chips and ice cream. I really expected more.
All in all it was a nice break but I wouldve liked to have ventured out more- this place is in the middle of nowhere so diffcult to go anywhere. The 'cave' excursion by boat is a rip off- you go next to the caves but never actually inside any and it literally is just a boat ride for a lot of money; we found out we couldve got a boat for ourselves for the whole day for a lot cheaper so dont do it!
Oh and there are WAY TOO many steps in this resort- you literally have a work out everytime you move! They have a cabel cart lift from the top to the restaurant which was broken during our stay so we had to climb a thousand steps wherever we wanted to go!
Also not sure if it was the time we went but it was more a resort fr the older generation, I think we were 1 of about 3 other young couples.

Room Tip: We had sea view- defo worth it

I am here now, the end of September - smells of sewage not only at the pool, but also close to the restaurant, do not use fitness center - old and dirty(we were). Location is ok, view also nice, but You were probably informed by travel agency that this is a 5* hotel. It is not, max 3*. Staff is helpfull - speak different languages. This is my first and last time here

I think the people below are definitely of the snobier side of society! Hotel was lovely with beautiful views from every angle. Food was excellent and always enough of it. Yes, drinks stop at 11 but there is a wonderful cocktail bar only a 5 minute walk away with views over looking the bay.
Of course the hotel is not going to be 5* by British standards - for the price you pay do you expect it to be?!
I am not entirely sure what people expect from hotels abroad - the rooms are comfortable! Personally we didn't spend much time in our room other than to sleep and change for dinner etc!

The only one negative i would say is the A La Carte restaurant - not worth paying the money for, the hotel food is definitely much better!

There was occasionally a whiff of sewage and yes slightly off putting but it was certainly not there the whole time!!

The staff were all friendly and the animation team were good for a laugh.

Maybe the people making these complaints would be more suited to a SAGA holiday?!?!
All around an excellent holiday!!!

Room Tip: the sea view rooms offer an amazing view across the bay, and a beautiful sunset

Inexpensive last minute family holiday and generally enjoyed.
Food not the best but edible and no tummy upsets!
Position,beach and views very good.

I recommend considering a hire car from the airport to avoid transfer delays and also a great way to see this enchanting and varied island.

Corfu going through a bit of a hard time at present and deserves better.

I booked this hotel for Sep 2012 for my honeymoon and on the whole it was a very enjoyable holiday. There were some good points and some bad points as given below.

Good points

The location is fantastic for the beach, literally a few steps down from the hotel and you are on the beach. You can hire 2 sun loungers a parasol and a little table all for only €5 per day. If you do want to hire sun loungers all you need to do it find the one's you want and set up, a man will then come and find you and ask you to pay, he also gives you the option to pay for more than one day at a time which is handy if you don't want to take money every time you go. He will give you a receipt if you do this.

The food is good, despite the bad reviews on here the variety is very good. Each lunch or tea-time we had at least 3 different meats to chose from there were always chips, pasta, salad, rice etc. so you were always able to find something you want. Sometimes the food was not to our liking but that's just personal taste and not because it was cooked badly. The all inclusive meals are served at certain times, we heard a few people moaning about this but personally I would prefer my food cooked fresh at certain times instead of it being left out all day, also the time slots are reasonable. Snacks are also available in the late afternoon and ice cream is available throughout the day so you'd have to be pretty greedy to ever go hungry!

Excluding some reception staff the rest of the staff are very friendly, the animation team are very good at getting people involved but if like us you didn't want to be involved they will leave you alone for the rest of your stay there.

The rooms are kept very clean and the maids are very friendly and do a good job.

BAD POINTS

The smell of sewage by the pool and restaurant area is incredibly off putting. On the first day there we were so disgusted by it we couldn't relax by the pool so spent the rest of the days there on the beach were you couldn't smell it.

The wasps are a problem at eating times, the management do seem to do their best to keep them away but just a point of reference if you were thinking of eating outside.

The WiFi access does not work throughput the hotel as advertised, we could only get it working in communal areas and not in our room.

All inclusive drinks are only served until 11pm, not a problem for us as we were usually done by then but of you were wanting to stay up until the bar closes at 1am you will need to pay for your drinks for the last 2 hours which isn't really the idea of "all inclusive".

Although the food and staff are nice the all inclusive restaurant is a bit more like a canteen than a restaurant with bright florescent lighting and everyone bundling up to get their food together.

The hotel is quite remote and so if you do like going out and about do bear this in mind, you might want to hire a car if you are a confident driver.

All in all the holiday was good and we did have a good time, I'm not sure I would go again though as we've been there and done it.

Also just one thing not related to the hotel is I recommend the Corfu highlights excursion, the guide Sophia is brilliant and has great local knowledge making it a very informative and enjoyable day out, You get to go round the island and see some stunning views, have a nice lunch out and go round some different shops. I would also recommend sampling their ice cream, it's incredible!

Room Tip: Sea view is best and if you want WiFi access in room go nearer to reception.

I have to start this review by wondering how many inside reviews are being created about this hotel? The location is spectacular the staff mostly excellent and the animation team great BUT and its a big but, the hotel is in a bad state of repair the food passable at best and the bar poor. The rooms are in dire need of repair and the management seem to have decided that they'll do the bare minimum. The whole pool area smells of sewage. I wouldn't go back again if you offered me a free stay.

My partner and I booked last minute with an agent for all inclusive which meant we managed to get the room cheaper than booking direct. I'll try and be as impartial as possible.
Good Points -

Good size rooms,

Excellent beach and location.

Really enjoyed the range of food provided at the all inclusive restaurant despite other reviews. Chips and various meats are available everyday for those fussy kids. Stunning range of fresh fruit and a wide range of local food, fish, muscles, shrimp, mushroom pies, too much to list here. The restaurant manager Mr Pablo? very welcoming and professional, he deserves credit for keeping things running when we had a storm and the outside seating couldn't be used.

Entertainment team very friendly and would often sit with us and have a chat giving us insight into things to do.

Hiring of boat from the local beach highly recommended, great fun - 2 hours for 90Eu and you get it to yourself. Hired a beach buggy thing (seats two) @40Eu for the day at the hotel. Amazing fun to drive around the island in. However I would only recommend it for confident drivers as there really are no road rules that people follow and very steep cliff edges!

Some reception staff very friendly and helpful.

The other guests were all very pleasant, no big groups of young people causing havok! Mostly families and young couples.

Mini Market on-site was very handy, sold all the usual rubbish you buy for friends on the last day, basic snacks, drinks, tobacco and beach paraphernalia.

Exceptionally clean room! Even sealed toilet with a band saying 'sterilized'. Abit OTT maybe but nice to know they pay attention to this.

BAD POINTS - All inclusive stops at 12 noon on last day, slightly annoying as our flight wasn't until 05:00 the next day! However we ran the risk and just told them we left the card at the room and ate lunch and dinner for free (didn't feel too bad as we had missed a few meals that were included earlier in the week)

All inclusive drinks seemed very weak in strength and was limited to their local brands. Not really a problem but I never managed to get drunk on the free stuff! Would however recommend the local lager Mythos.

Pool area smelt distinctly of sewage! The pool was very clean but its a rather distracting smell when you are trying to relax in/by the pool.

A couple of reception staff were rude and unhelpful with an aggressive rather than welcoming attitude. I won't mention their names here as there are proper procedures for filing complaints.

The shower was pathetic and kept running very hot and very cold so beware if young children are to use it as it is very dangerous! I couldn't be bothered to complain because they would not have been able to solve the problem because it's just been plumbed in wrong on a single line.

I hope you can either speak Greek or like BBC World News if you want to watch TV! Although you don't go on holiday to watch TV and they do provide free rental of DVDs at reception that are mostly English.

Wifi only really worked at reception reliably, again not really bothered. I went on holiday to disconnect for awhile.

This might sound so British but no tea and coffee making facilities. So if it's after Dinner or before Breakfast there's no way to make a decent cup of tea.

Wasps are a big pain in the bottom around the eating areas and pool area. The management clearly have tried to sort the problem with bug catchers and zappers but you will get irritated by them daily. Can't expect the hotel staff to do more than that really.

Thomas Cook rep more than useless! Not the hotels fault.

SUMMARY

Despite these few faults, The shower being one that annoyed me the most. We still managed to enjoy a lovely holiday with amazing views and relaxed atmosphere. Expect 4* and you won't be disappointed!

Room Tip: Close to reception if you want Wifi
