“Luxury and style in every aspect of the hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2011

I visited the island of Andros on the recommendation of a friend as I wanted to experience some of the less well known delights of the Greek Islands. The Krinos Suites Hotel was also the recommendation of a friend who knows that I like quality and a certain level of luxury when I travel! We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights and every day just got better. The actual facilities are super stylish but also comfortable and inviting. The young hosts Alexandra and Vasilis treat you like family and make sure that you have enough food and drink and anything else that you want! Their knowledge of the island is exceptional and they will come up with a personalised itinerary each day depending on which part of beautiful Andros you want to see. There was always a pre-dinner cocktail waiting at the bar...what more could you want? I will definitely be going back.

This is what it is for this hotel. The photos on the website are completely true. Now that I think of it, in reality the hotel is far more beautiful than the web photos. I have been a victim of booking hotels judging from the photos the have on websites and then arriving at the hotel and seeing a completely different environment than the one expected. Booking this hotel I was very worried about the result but when I finally went there I saw a hotel worthy of its money and of my time. The owners showed me to my room which was smelling cleanliness. After a while they offered me a traditional sweet of the island. A plus was the free bottles of water always in the fridge. The air conditioning system was excellent since the atmosphere was cool and dry and it didn’t make you feel sick. The outside part of the café bar was very beautiful but you could not sit there during the morning because there was no shadow. I talked about it with the owners and they said it would be completed by next year with umbrellas or some other construction. The nicest thing was that you could have your breakfast in the room free of charge. The breakfast tray was the best!!!!!! And now it is time to talk about the beds!!!!!these beds are AMAZING!!it is like sleeping in the clouds!!! I even asked the owners where they got them so I can buy one for myself.

Dear TeriJOnes,

We are extremely happy to have proved to be what we advertise. This is the most important thing for us. Since you mentioned the Art Cafe i would like to inform you that it is ready for the summer of 2011. Our jazz collection has been enriched and we will be hosting three exhibitions this summer: a photography exhibition in June, a painting exhibition in July and a handmade jewelry exhibition in August.
Hope to see you there!!!

We stayed at "Krinos" for 10 days in August. We never wanted to leave!

Our suite was homey and incredibly clean. It had an exquisite view to the beach! We had an adorable balcony, where we would sit and have our breakfast, or cocktail in the evening. Very relaxing. The suite icluded air conditioning in both living room and bedroom, cable TV in both rooms as well, a large bathroom with bathtub, kitchen, a music player that can be connected to ipods(!!), very comfortable bed and a couch that can also be used as a bed.

If you want to get out of the room you can have a drink on the hotel's veranda or bar. Real nice!

Breakfast includes a variety of choices, and everything is fresh. Wonderful handmade marmalades and light, freshly baked croissants were our favorites.

The bar also serves refreshing salads and sandwiches, which are a tasteful and light solution if you want to go for a swim in the afternoon. These are not included in the price of the suite. We strongly recommend the Green salad! It contains an amazing local cheese as well as grilled cherry tomatoes, and marinated mushrooms. Very refreshing and tasty. The cocktails are also excellent. My personal favorite was the banana daiquiri.

The beach of Batsi is 30 steps from "Krinos", the definition of a 'walking distance'! However, the island has many dreamy beaches which are worth the ride. We loved Achla! It's located on the east side of the island, takes about 45 minutes to get there, but it's totally worth the trouble.

The owners of "Krinos" are adorable, very polite and kind. They will give you great directions and guidelines on where to visit and why, since they have had a summer house in Andros for many years and therefore know all about the island. One can easily spot the care they have given to every little detail in the hotel. They are truly helpful in every way.

The building has an interesting history. It was renovated by the current owners, but dates from the late19th century. Beautiful!! It used to be a hotel until the 1980's and before that, it was a silk-weaving workshop!

Although we can't say it is a cheap hotel, we think one sentence describes it : value for money! Absolutely worth every penny! So when in Andros, stay at "Krinos"!

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your kind words!
Secondly, i would like to inform you that our breakfast variety has been enriched with homemade cakes as well as cheese and ham from different areas of the country. For this year, we have also made fig and quince jam from our own trees!!
Summer is near and the whole island is getting ready for the new season!!! If we don't have the opportunity to see you again soon, have a lovely summer.

We stayed at Krinos for only one night, but we wished we could have stayed longer. My husband and I stayed at a Deluxe Suite ( the cheapest). The suite had superb design, wonderful interior decoration and everything had been thought of to the greatest detail and with lots of care. The bed was extremely comfortable. We loved the iPod dock the suite had and if you love TV there are two Flat Screen TVs in the suite.
The beach is down a set of stairs so it is very convenient for the centre of Batsi and the beach. The hotel has a bar that makes very nice cocktails.
Breakfast was served in the room and we could have it sitting at the lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The variety is not huge though. If you want a continetal breakfast, it is fine. The bread and croissants were lovely and fresh and the jams homemade. If you want eggs or fruit though, you have to pay extra.
The suites can easily accommodate families or a group of friends. It is a hotel for people who appreciate tasteful luxury and good design and are happy to pay a bit extra and support the local economy and the efforts of people artehr than go to a hige multinational chain hotel.
Krinos is brand new, only 2 months in service, so there is probably details to be added and amenities adjusted. We believe that it was a bit overpriced for what it was. It had lovely details but it lacked amenities that would allow such prices. We cannot see someone affording it for too long.
If you want to have a couple of nights in a lovely environment though and with very friendly staff, then Krinos is your answer.
The owners are young professionals who dedicated the last 3 years of their lfe to rennovate and revive an old Hotel and they have managed it extremely well. We would go there again for sure and we wish the owners lots of success.

Dear guest,
I am really sorry i haven't sent a response to you earlier but as you said in your review there were things to be organised and adjusted!! Thank you for all your kind words and i would like to take advantage of this opportunity to let you know that we have enriched our breakfast variety. We added some products, mainly Greek ones (such as Greek herbal teas, cheese and ham from many different areas of Greece). As far as the eggs are concerned, for now, we offer boiled local free range eggs and we aim at offering scrambled, omelets, and/or fried eggs in the future. I will also like to thank you for pointing out to us about putting some teas and coffee in the room. We really wanted to do this but there wasn't enough time to look into that last year. This year, you will find variety of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and some homemade treats as a welcome kit in each suite.
We loved having you as our guest and we would love to see you again.
Best regards and happy Easter,
Alexandra Logotheti
