Nice, little taverna. Food is good and plentiful. The place is clean and the service is fast and efficient.

Menu is mainly BBQ meats and the classic Greek appetizers. Careful with the medium/welldone's. They tend to over cook things.

No view, but by the Batsi beach.

My wife & I recently visited the newly opened Ammos Barbeque Taverna, which is the sister taverna to the well established Ammos Taverna about four doors away on the same sea view frontage.

We had Ydroussa salad with local cheese, which was nicely presented and very tasty. Also we had cheese-balls made from four local cheeses (according to the menu), but they must have been blended as we only got three each and they all tasted exactly the same?

For main course we both had lamb chops with fried potatoes. Although very nicely presented, it was soon pretty apparent that the chops had been well salted in the cooking. It's a good job, we always taste our food before adding either salt or pepper!

All in all a pretty decent meal out and reasonably priced @ 16 Euro's per head.. The service was both efficient & friendly, the bread was excellent, the menu was extensive and clearly set out and just as importantly the red house-wine was good!

Ammos Taverna was just on the corner from where we were staying. It always looked busy so we decided to give it a try and in fact visited twice in our six night stay. The first time was a Saturday and there were loads of friendly staff. They appreciated my efforts at ordering in Greek. It’s always fun to give it a go. The tavern is just opposite the beach and has trees between some of the tables. We had shrimp saganiki which contained four massive shrimps and was excellent. We then had the fried small fishes, merides I think they are called and codfish with skordalia . It was all delicious and we were then given a lovely complimentary sweet of yogourt with blueberries and nuts on top. Yum! With ½ kilo of wine and a large bottle of water the bill was €31.70. Very reasonable. Our second visit was also enjoyable although there were not as many staff the service was still quite good. The mussel saganaki was delicious and quite a large portion. We had a greek salad, souvlaki and chicken fillet with wine. The free sweet was water melon. Again it was good value and we enjoyed it.
