What an absolute pleasure it was to stay in such an attractive house , with everything you could require and more : Pippa and Steve were so helpful with all kinds of information , and although the service and accommodation were excellent and very professional , there was a very pleasant relaxed atmosphere .My dog was made welcome too ! Twenty minute walk to the fabulous Gower beach . Highly recommended .

A lovely, friendly , relaxing atmosphere. Colourful, character filled rooms. The bed in our room was exceptionally comfortable, best nights sleep we have had in a long time and what a change to be able to have windows open all night and not be disturbed, Garden open to use at any time, not often you can go somewhere relax outside with a glass of wine and watch the sunset over the sea and not feel you are intruding on someones privacy. Thank you Pippa and Steve for a wonderful friendly stay. Hopefully be back soon.
(If you don't like dogs , but do like the bland sterility of corporate hotels, probably not for you.)

If you are after somewhere to stay that's relaxed and friendly and very, very colourful then this is the place! I can honestly say I've never stayed anywhere quite like it but that's because most B+B's have been stripped of genuine individuality and character. Bongo the dog is hilarious! I would go back any time.

This place did the job for a one night stay, but I wouldn't go back. We chose it on the strength of other reviews, but were left wondering what people's standards are. The bottom line is the place needs a deep clean. It was so dusty and generally grubby. The owners have two dogs (I'm not sure if this is made obvious on their website) one of which is quite big. My son doesn't really like dogs so this freaked him out and had I known i wouldn't have booked there. There was dog hair everywhere, including on our bed sheets. The attic room doesn't have a shower, which was ok for one night, but not for longer. The soap in the bathroom was one big bar, just left there from guest to guest and the previous resident's wet towels were still in a basket in corner of bathroom. The very worst thing though was the bed. It was pure torture. A very old, worn mattress that sagged in the middle. Terrible nights sleep. Breakfast was ok, after picking old bits of food off the crockery. Could be lovely if it was clean as location is beautiful and local pub was a real gem. I know these reviews are very subjective and often a matter of taste, but this place didn't do it for us.

A last minute booking found us almost in the Western most part of the Gower peninsula. We'd seen the photos online but nothing had quite prepared us for the warmth of the welcome and the colourful house. Pippa and Steve, kids and dogs were all brilliantly friendly and helpful and we'll remember our stay for a long time. Easy walking distance from the coastal footpath makes this an ideal spot even if you don't surf, and the abundance of footpaths make it easy to get off the beaten track. Well worth the trip to the end of the peninsula.

I've been going to the Gower regularly for years, but had previously always stayed in self-catering accommodation with a group of friends. Going as a couple it made more sense to look for a B&B, and I was thrilled to find Western House. It's glorious and I know we'll be going back time & again. From the moment we arrived, Pippa made us feel massively welcome, and the colourful house was absolutely charming. The room was gorgeous, with huge skylights over the sand dunes leading down to Llangennith beach, and the private bathroom was fantastic. As it's in the eaves, it's definitely a case of watching your head, but that's no bother! And the location is great; it's an easy walk to the beach or to the pub. We loved it so much, we got engaged while we were there, and are thrilled that we'll have such happy memories to attach to such a special place.

Room Tip: We had the room at the top of the house - fantastic views over the dunes & private bathroom.
