“Awful value”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 April 2014

Been going to eddies for breakfasts for years. Which has always been pretty good though quite pricey.

The campsite charge £3 for parking, which if you spend £5 in eddies, the parking would be refunded, which is fair enough.

Today I handed in my parking voucher and was told they don't refund anymore, but you could have a free coffee. So for one adult breakfast, one child's breakfast with extra hash brown, and 2 smoothies, the bill was £19.35 and the additional £3 for parking! We did not want coffee and there was no option to have another drink instead. I think it is disgusting to have to pay £3 to park at a restaurant when your paying £19 for one adult and one child to have breakfast.

I asked to have a hash town instead of toast, this wasn't possible, yet two weeks before, it was no trouble, we were charged extra for this. When the breakfast came, the toast was actually just warmed bread with a cheap vegetable spread on it, the black pudding was actually a few scrapings which looked more like off cuts than an actual piece, and there were no tomatoes. In addition to this, the ketchup tasted like gherkins (not sure what happened there but it didn't taste anything like ketchup) and the brown sauce was also horrible.

The smoothies were actually fantastic as always. No complaints about staff, they are great. Just the food and the fact that we were charged to park. I have no objections to being charged to park when using the beach, but it should be refunded when eating at eddies.

Some may be happy enough with a 'free' coffee, personally on a hot day, I don't want coffee, and this means I have to pay to park to have a meal.

Can't say I will be going for regular breakfasts there in the future!

“New Year's Day Treat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2014

Eddy's Big New Year breakfast was the *best* way to start 2014, especially after a rain and wind-lashed walk along the spectacular Rhossili beach! After a warm Welsh welcome, the champagne was flowing and it wasn't long before a massive Welsh cooked breakfast - including battered cockles and laver bread - was delivered. We were visiting with my Chinese daughter-in-law who immediately sent pics of all the breakfasts (they do full English breakfasts too) back to her folks in China.

There were also excellent ice-creams and the kind of homely hot puddings and custard that set us up a treat with enough fuel for another walk up and over Rhossili Down!

The view of the sand dunes and the sea and surf beyond is always stunning - unless it's raining so hard you can't see it. In the summer there are plenty of tables for al fresco eating, drinking and basking.

“Great Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2013

We all love Eddy's. The one restaurant on the campsite but they don't let their standards slip just because they have the monopoly. Food is always good and the menu has something for everyone. the whole family love it. Breakfast is amazing.

“Lovely spot, great food too”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013 via mobile

Eddy's is a great find if you are doing the Rhossili Downs circuit from Rhossili. We stumbled across it at lunchtime and had some excellent scampi and plaice. The views are stunning, the place is spotless, the staff are friendly and helpful, and it's not expensive. I you are walking the area make sure you stop at Eddy's for lunch.
