Went to ClubHotel Riu Guarana with my wife from 24/4/14 to 1/5/14. Flight took off from Manchester right on time and we were at the hotel and checked in by 11.50AM. The whole process was really smooth and staff were very friendly and efficient. Weather on the first day was a bit hit and miss, with clouds and rain, but the remainder of the week the weather was excellent. Housekeeping was very good and the room was very clean. Even the toilets within the hotel were always very clean. The food was excellent and there was a wide variety of food to choose from. All bar areas were always well maintained and staff were always very quick to ensure that you were served as soon as possible. Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would definitely recommend it and will book again for next year.

Room Tip: You may want to request a view overlooking the pools

We returned to this hotel after having a fantastic time here 3 years ago when it was just my partner and myself we now have an 8 months old baby and thought this would be the perfect place for our first family holiday and many things are still fantastic. The rooms are clean, service is excellent, the grounds are stunning. However the food has gone downhill a bit; the past time my partner and I came here the food was stunning for an all inclusive however this time, although there was plenty of choice it was bland no real flavour to anything so much so we did a little research on local restaurants to get some good food, we picked the nearest chinese 'chefs peeking' just a 2 mins walk away and glad we did the food there was excellent some of the best Chinese food we have ever had we returned here 3 times during our holiday and every time was fantastic would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wanted q local authentic restaurant.

Stayed here mid April. Second visit to this hotel, still as good, Excellent staff throughout the hotel from the moment you arrive until leaving. Welcome drink on arrival, full info;given about the hotel dining and facilities, pool towels etc; luggage brought to your room, what more could you ask for.!!!!Rooms are a good size, all conveniences ,plenty of robe and drawer space, fabulous super king size bed,( mattress topper available if desired which I used), good size shower room with excellent shower above the bath, usual towel change and toiletries and a nice balcony. Food was of an excellent standard with lots of choice at breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner. The hotel was full when we were there but we did not have any problems either getting a table for lunch or dinner or sun lounger round the pool, just asked one of the attendants and he brought us a sun umbrella, nothing too much trouble. The weather was beautiful during our visit so all in all we had a wonderful time, now two other members of our family have booked a week in June. We will be back.

We have just returned from this hotel and found it to be an excellent hotel, very clean, staff were well presented and very happy and helpful. (although they could do with more info of what's outside the hotel, they did not even have a decent map for us)
The problem we had was the number of unruly children staying at the hotel, this is not the fault of the hotel as it caters well for them, unfortunately we do not like the dinning room being used as a playground for kids while parent sit back and eat their dinner.
The Hotel should consider an adult only pool area and seating area for the dinning room. both of these would be simply and easily introduced as the hotel has two pools and an L shape dining room.
we were they for the last week of April and the entertainment was all finished by 10am the disco was not opened even though it was suggested it would be, the entertainment is mostly for kids and families
Note: the beds are hard, you can get an optional soft topper, which made the beds better, but the topper is not as wide as the beds
Beware of the optional early breakfast offer, while reception will happily book you in the breakfast staff trying to set up for the 8am start are less than happy or helpful when your "in their way" having your early breakfast.

We returned yesterday from another visit to the Riu Guarana - this being our fifth visit. At one time we found that the hotel was becoming rather noisy and some of the people there were obviously not staying at the hotel and so for two years we stayed at the Riu Palace across the road instead. This time we decided to give it another try and we found it to be absolutely superb. The place is spotlessly clean and well run. The fabric is of the building is pristine and great care is taken everywhere to achieve excellence.

The food is very good; if anything, the lunches are even better than the evening meals. The staff are undoubtedly the best we have come across anywhere. Nothing is too much trouble and any request is met immediately.

Olhos de Agua is a lovely village and the beaches are fantastic.

Room Tip: We like the rooms overlooking the tennis courts as they are quieter. We would avoid the 5th floor a...

We stayed at this hotel for a week at Easter in April this year. The staff are excellent and nothing seems to be too much trouble. The hotel was immaculately clean in all the public areas and we had our room cleaned everyday. Food was good, although the restaurant did get busy at peak times so you had to wait a short while in a queue before going in. I'm guessing that in high season they open up further dining areas to cater for most guests. The location of the hotel was spot on and the resort of Olhos de Agua was beautiful. We dined out at a local restaurant called Fratellis on the beach front a couple of times and it was superb with brilliant service.

The only slight down side to the hotel was the sofabed in our family room. It really wasn't up to the job and was pretty uncomfortable and the hotel does need to consider replacing these with something of better quality. The main bed was huge (2 singles put together) and luckily for us we like very firm mattresses.....if you didn't it might be an issue.

Overall we had a great week and for the first time ever are actually thinking of going back to the same place twice which I think speaks volumes for both the resort and the hotel.

Without the staff employed in April 2014, this hotel would not be able to function throughout the summer. There are too many rooms for the amount of area including the grounds that the hotel occupies. When fully occupied, the hotel is too crowded. Apart from this, we had a lovely holiday. Everything was up to standard. However, the outside seating areas are separated from the lounging area. This is a pity because if you would rather sit on a chair than a sun lounger, there are none to be found. We were able to borrow two from the pool bar though. Again, the staff are the mainstay of the hotel.

Room Tip: Room 501 has a good view and faces the tennis courts and the pool
