Just spent another week (4 - 11 Oct) at the Guarana.

Visit No. 6 and it just keeps getting better.

The staff are still very friendly and will bend over backwards to please.
Public areas of the Hotel are well maintained and spotlessly clean.
Rooms are kept clean and tidy by the daily maid service and they always greet you with a smile.
The manager Miguel, and his assistant Adam, are always to be seen walking around, welcoming at meal times, and even eating in the restaurant.
The food is a good as it has ever been, and I actually think it has improved over the years, there seems to be a much larger choice. The restaurant is well run by head waiter Francesco, and he is supported by an eager group of waiters who are keen to make your dining experience great. Special mention to Mannuela, she was by far the hardest working of them all and we always tried to sit in her "area"

The bars, both pool and salon, are well run by a huge staff of barmen and glass collectors. Special mention must go to Julain, Augustos, and Nuno, they took very good care of us during our stay.

The animation team were well led by Matteo, and they all worked very hard to keep guests entertained, with activities and their evening shows.

We love the Olhos d'Agua area, having holidayed here for the last 30 years, and the Guarana provides us with an ideal location to refresh our memories, and create new ones. Although All Inclusive, we always take a couple of nights to venture into our favourite restaurants, just for a change.

Absolutely love this area and Hotel. Are we going to return ? You bet, already booked a week in June.

We had a pool view room on the third floor, the resort location is perfect. You're only a few minutes walk from the strip (shopping/bars/restaurants) of Olhos de Água.

The front desk staff, were so kind even after asking so many questions regarding our stay. I can't say enough about how nice they were - it really made for the experience.

The buffet had a good variety of food, very clean as well. There was enough pool space to accommodate everyone.

Overall, I have nothing bad to say about this resort. Lots of consistency in services from the Riu properties I have stayed at before however, this would be my favourite!

This is the second time we have been to this hotel. It was just as good this time as last year. The hotel is spotless, there are plenty of sunbeds so no need to get up early! The pool is cold but as it was 33 degrees so this was a nice welcome relief!
The food is lovely and there is so much choice, we don't eat meat and are really fussy but we never went hungry!
The only complaint we have is the outdoor seating area for the restaurant allows smokers, unfortunately when we were here there was a lot of heavy smokers and this ruined the meal for us. We like to sit outside for our evening meal (especially as it was so warm) but the smoke really gets in the way of enjoying your meal.
This was the only complaint we had though and we will definitely be back!
