We are leaving tomorrow and have had 1 week here . We stayed in floor 3, with a wrap around sun solarium. The noise from the road was minimal. The amenities were really close by. We always found a sunbed round the pool. The snackbar was good and very reasonable. Rooms were spotless and fresh bedding and towels were every day except sunday. We ate at the 3 Maria's which was decent Portuguese food , excellent service and a very good price . We are eating tonight at Rampa on a recommendation at the bottom of the very steep hill .

Another visit to Oceanus 6th time going. We were in building 2 this time which worried us at check in but were pleasantly surprised with apartment as it was just a nice as main building and we thought quieter at night. Pool was very busy this time but we are normally there either June or October so perhaps this is normal for August. As usual the staff in snack bar were great and could not do enough for us , especially the manager he is a gentleman. See you again in October

Travelled as a family, a couple in one apartment and then 2 adults and 2 children (age 5 and 2) in the other.
We stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, which was spacious and clean. The room had 2 single beds in the bedroom and a travel cot (on request) and then another "pull out bed" in the living room area. Please note the pull out bed is a single, which was fine, however we wanted to have the children sleep in the bedroom so we had somewhere to sit on an evening once they had gone to bed. This meant one of us sleeping in the "pull out bed" (drawer as we called it) and one on the sofa. This wasnt a problem, just something to be aware of.
The apartment was "cleaned" every day (not a full clean, just the bathroom, new towels if you wanted them, beds made etc) which was nice. We had new bedding a couple of times (stayed for 11 nights).
The kitchen has 2 electric hobs, a toaster, microwave kettle and cultlery/crockery etc. It was on the small side but who wants to be stood cooking on holiday?! It was sufficient for what we needed.
Our room (101) faced the main road, which was quite noisy at times, it woke the children up a few times. It also meant we didnt really sit out on the balcony as it would have been fairly noisy. The balcony did not get the sun at any point in the day. We could also hear the Kareoke in our room which wasnt ideal when the children were in bed. These things didnt spoil our holiday, just things to be aware of if you are staying here.
The swimming pools are both really nice, there is a smaller pool for kids and a big pool, however the only downside is that people are out there at 7am reserving sunbeds which is really annoying. We would arrive at 9 to find them all taken but with people not actually using them until after lunch (on some occasions). I know "everyone does it", but the hotel management should look to do something about this, the list of "rules" clearly states that people should not reserve sunbeds. Again it didnt spoil our stay and we usually got some beds at some point.
The snack bar is really nice, and the staff work really hard and were really friendly - good value for money and tasty food.
There are some really nice restaurants right on the doorstep of the hotel, a supermarket round the back (and also a bigger supermarket just down the main road) and the gorgeous beach is only a short walk away (quite a steep hill).
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and I would consider staying here again, but perhaps ask for a room that doesnt face the road.

Room tip: Ask for a higher room that has a beach/pool view

We stayed at the oceanus at the end of July, reception staff on check in very friendly.
We stayed in a superior studio we had a small balcony on the side with a table and chairs to our surprise opening the door at the back of the apartment we had a huge balcony with two sunloungers this was ideal for when you wanted a lazy day just chill out in your own balcony.
Plenty of shops bars and restaurants in the area, down by the beach is a fab bar/restaurant called pickwicks the owners are super friendly and the staff are great. The food is top notch.
The snack bar round the pool is a gem and the gentlemen who runs it is very friendly.
Rooms cleaned daily with the exception of a Sunday.
We attempted to walk to the old town but the heat and distance beat us so we flagged a Tuk tuk down. The old town is fantastic the atmosphere is unreal lots of bats and restaurants with singers in the streets we will definitely be back to the old town taxi cost no more than 10 euro each way to the old town.
I will definitely in future return to the oceanus fantastic place for the price.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed here for one week we found it an ideal base. The room had everything you needed, we had a room with side and front balcony also the bed was really comfy. There was entertainment a couple of nights a week. Clean pool and surrounding area. There were some Bars and Shops in the area but a short walk to Olhos d Agua small beach was really nice to eat on an evening.

Room tip: 2nd floor room 215 front and side balcony
