“Easter All Inclusive Family Holiday - Great Value”
Reviewed 10 May 2013

We thought it was great value for money and would recommend

After a 50 Min coach journey we arrived and were well greeted. We happened to be near the front of the short queue but it did take some time to be 'processed', but everyone was very pleasant and helpful. Our room wasn't ready but we were shown to a room off the main dining room to get some snacks. At this point let me tell you that I like my coffee and if you do then avoid the machines like the plague! Vile!! A better coffee can be bought from the bar. TIP: Take a kettle and supplies for your room - it can be quite a walk for a drink! Anyway, it wasn't a long wait before we were shown via buggy to our rooms (the children loved it). There was five of us, three adults and two children, so we were able to have the three females together in one room as the room configuration was great. Basically one front door leads into a hallway which in turn has two doors each leading into a self contained room (see pictures), so we were able to lock the outer door and walk between the rooms. Ours was a ground floor and all the buildings are only two floors high which is so much nicer than blocks of high rises. The gardens are very well maintained but also have areas left more natural to encourage wildlife. Because it was low peak season, the whole of the complex was not open, only one dining room, one open pool and the indoor pool, but this was perfectly adequate for the amount of people staying there at this time.
The rooms are comfortable and the cleaning ladies very obliging coming in to clean every day. The rooms have a fridge which is very handy but one of the very best things is the FREE WIFI. Don't get me wrong i like to turn off when on holiday but goodness, free internet access is a total God send.
Anyway, more briefly, as these reviews can be lengthy;
Outdoor Pool (By Bar) - excellent (although icy cold when we were there).
Bar - Excellent staff (a part from one man, but there is always one!) be aware that you have to pay for drinks after 11 pm.
Indoor Pool - Not many loungers so get there early if you want one. Great if you have young children who you want to keep out of the sun.
From my seven year olds point of view:
The staff were friendly and made great mocktails, the pool was great, really enjoyed the butterflies and birds especially the woodpecker and cat. The shows/entertainment were mostly quite good.
There was a kids club but there were only very young children in it so mine did not participate.
Dining - I am vegetarian, 2 only eat fish and the other two anything, but we were all catered for. There were themed nights which were really good, plenty of choice and lots of it. As you would expect the wine was rocket fuel, but drinks could be taken in from the bar and bottles of wine bought. If you have difficulty finding a table, just ask a member of staff they were very helpful, setting up tables for us.
Shop - has lots of useful and very nice items, clothes, trinkets, hats, toiletries and daily papers. You can also buy cards and stamps, balls, games etc.
Hairdresser - my broth in law used for a beard and neck trim and was very pleased.
Spa Treatments - not used but heard it was very good see pictures
WIFI - could be patchy usually in the main building but excellent most of the time, two computers also available in the lobby.
Games room
Lots of Tennis Courts, beach volley and table tennis available.
Closeness to the Beach - a beautiful beach, part sand but with lots of gorgeous shells and the occasional spot of wildlife. Also popular for dog walkers we saw only one lot of dog poo, so very clean. A great 3 km walk to Vilamoura either along the pathways or on the beach. with a lovely coffee, bar and snack shack at the end before entering Vilamoura. TIP: Be aware that catching a taxi will cost between 20 and 25 euros one way to Vilamoura!! No direct route so takes nearly as long to drive there, quite literally!!
We went with Thomas Cook and as only there one week did not venture far;
Vilamoura (under own steam both walking and with Taxi), good shops and restaurants definitely worth visiting if only to view the yachts in the marina.
Albufeira, we caught the mini bus available to pre book at reception for a small charge. considering the cost of taxi's i would take this option! TIP: book as soon as you can as it quickly gets filled.
Once in Albufeira there is the usual things to do so I wont list them here but I will highly recommend a fish restaurant - Tasca do Viegas on the sea front in the old town, up a few steps. This was recommended by an english woman living there and was well worth the visit. Family run and we asked all sorts of questions about taste etc and even the fussy children were not only happy but voted it as a holiday culinary highlight.
Zoomarine - very enjoyable, food ok but the shows were great. It wasn't overly busy, in the height of the season I can imagine it to be a nightmare. But we all enjoyed ourselves.
See the bottom for a list of some of the trips you can go on and for pictures of itineraries and maps.
Summery;
Would recommend especially for a quiet Easter Holiday, families, couples and groups.
Clean and friendly
Beautiful setting
Gorgeous Beach
TIPs

Pay cleaners, they are worth it!
Think about getting a waiter (money) on side for those after 11 drinks
Book mini bus in advance and soon and this goes for the courts etc too
WALK to Vilamoura its good for you especially after all that food and drink!
Find out the fish restaurant in Albufeira, you wont be disappointed
Take a kettle and supplies

Happy Holidays!! Oh and we will probably go again next year, cant get better than that.

Room Tip: Over looking the gardens, not too far away from the main building especially blocks E, H, N, as only...

Just come back from holiday at this hotel and must say it was outstanding, hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, plenty of choice at mealtimes something for everyone. Whole complex was well laid out and beautifully clean. Would thoroughly recommend it to families and couples alike, would definately go back only setback because of location you need to take the courtesy bus if going into Albufeira as taxis are expensive especially at night, but apart from this small point can't fault the Adriana at all.:)

Arrived at reception to the most lovely and friendly reception staff and a welcome glass of champagne, we were taken to our room in block AA by the porter by electric buggy, our room was on the first floor the porter carried out heavy baggage for us he showed how all the air con unit worked and where fridge was etc.....
Very clean room, toiletries in bathroom and a bottle of water in fridge which we topped up from the water fountains which are located in the courtyard of each block. Our rooms were cleaned every day, fresh towels daily and sheets changed every other day, some days the maid made some lovely things with our towels on our bed.
Our first meal was lunch on our day of arrival everything was first class an excellent choice of fish, meat, vegetarian, fresh fruits salads, two soups, desserts, wine, beer, soft drinks and water. All subsequent meals were of the same quality. Several theme nights throughout our two week stay. All the restaurant staff from the lovely man who swiped our card at the entrance to the waiting staff all happy to help, also there was a choice of outside and inside dining.
The bar service from Milton, Tania, Joas and the team always smiling and could not do enough for us, all inclusive drinks served in glass at all times around the terrace and bar and hard plastic around the pool, a very good selection of wine, spirits and beer and great cocktails best ever bar team we have experienced, and we have been on many all inclusive holidays both in Europe and Caribbean...
The animation team were excellent Jeffery and all the team always happy lots going on and the managers cocktail where all the management team were introduced to us all on the out door stage. Although we did not go to the theatre for the entertainment there was plenty going on for all, kids were well catered for.
Pool area kept to the highest standard with plenty of loungers and umbrellas towels were available to hire. Pool water very clean good swimming had bit chilly at first but nice under the hot sunshine.....
Everyone from the General Manager took time out to speak to you and always wanted to know how things were, always excellent.
My wife and myself would definitely return to this hotel and to the Algarve, this was our first time in Portugal and we were not disappointed the Portuguese people so friendly.
We booked two excursions with Follow Me Tours, Lule Market and Historical Tour both excellent with very informative guides for both.
The hotel had a shuttle bus into Albufera four times a day which had to be booked the day before, the driver Jorge was excellent and so helpful.
Both myself and wife would sincerely like to thank all at the Adriana Beach Resort for making our stay so memorable.

We booked a week here because the weather was so cold in Britain. We arrived on Sunday 7th April just in time for lunch and were immediately extremely impressed by the quality of the food. This was maintained throughout our stay - there was always at least 4 different hot meat dishes and two fish dishes at lunch and dinner. It was a pleasure to have proper 'British' style bacon for breakfast on alternate mornings. The fresh oranges were superb and the desserts were as good as many French restaurants.
The location of the hotel was perfect for us to go walking along the beach and into the surrounding countryside. It may have been too quiet for some people. There are large well kept grounds surrounding the accommodation blocks and this merges into beautiful wildlife gardens. The staff were all friendly and efficient. Whilst the weather was not as warm as we had expected it was certainly warmer than the UK. By the time we left the outside pool was warm enough to swim in and is particularly spacious with plenty of sunbeds surrounding it.

We stayed at the Adriana Beach Club for 5 nights (Tuesday to Saturday).
We flew into Faro airport and rented a car. From there it's a 30-40 minute drive. If you don't have a Sat-Nav and you are driving make sure you plan your route carefully as the Adriana Beach Club is at the end of a road that is not that obviously sign-posted and it's very easy to get lost - even after driving up and down the road quite a number of times. The Portuguese seem to love to have a road sign pointing down a road then after a few hundred yards you come to a junction with five roads leading off and no other sign for where you want to go.
We arrived at 9pm and check-in staff were friendly and spoke good English. The restaurant closes at 9.30pm so they sent is straight off to eat then we finished check-in formalities later and were shown to our room.
The complex consists of a main building where the pool, restaurant and entertainment is with several accommodation buildings scattered throughout the grounds. There are three standards of accommodation - Basic, Standard and Superior. We chose Standard and were about a three minute walk from the main building. No cars are allowed past the initial area - the resort is car free so a porter took us and our luggage on a golf buggy to our room (which we thought was a nice touch) and showed us how things worked.
This was our first holiday in Portugal so I have nothing to compare standards on. The room wasn't luxurious or opulent but functional and very clean. We had a bath and two balconies (one looked east - the other west). Our double bed, as in common with every other European country we have been to was two single beds pushed together. We had a faint Wi-Fi signal in the room but I was never able to successfully connect and we had to go to the main building in order to use the free Wi-Fi. Some things in the room could be improved – such as the sliding wardrobe doors which I am sure sounds wonderfully noisy to the people who are staying around / above / below you and also the tiles around the shower / bath could do with regrouting. There’s a hair dryer in the bathroom too. The pillow(s) were thin and too small.
Breakfast was available from 8am to 10am with lunch from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and evening meal from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. In between these hours you can have “snacks” which when we were there consisted of help-your-self- beef burgers, hot-dogs, chicken nuggets, potato fritters, ham, cheese, crisps and breads rolls. The food available at meal times was extensive. There was always a choice of salad, meats (hot & cold) and fish. At breakfast there were such things as Baked Beans, Eggs, Bacon, Hash Browns, Sausages and the usual continental foods (croissants etc.). There were always lots of available seats and you could sit where you wanted – outside or inside. One night whilst we were there they had a Mexican night with the waiters dressed as Mexicans with almost all the food being Mexican too.
The hotel has three food serving areas and two pools but only one of each was in use when we stayed. The others open peak season. We used the pool area a couple of times. There’s the usual (annoying) habit of people reserving loungers with towels and often you had to have a lounger with no umbrella for shade.
We walked to the beach. There are 96 steps to go down to the beach (and obviously the same amount to come back up). It’s a public beach and no loungers are available.
There are a handful of tennis courts which we used once. There was a four Euro charge for 1 hour plus a 20 Euro deposit (which you got back if you took the rackets and balls back on time). The tennis court area is floodlit but we never saw the lights on and tennis is only available 9am-5pm – the hottest part of the day.
All in all we enjoyed our stay at the Adriana Beach Club. The layout has a feeling of space and not crammed in like a traditional hotel. The grounds and plants make you feel like you are somewhere exotic.
