Hey what a great time we had at the Adriana in April 2013 - we managed to get lucky with the weather too ! The Staff were Great - the Food was Good - Nice & clean accommodation - Lovely pool area - some of the facilities were a bit dated (gym area) but overall couldn't fault the place.
A highlight for us was we actually saw Dolphins chasing a shoal of fish slightly out to sea WOW never seen that off any beach before ! It is a Brilliant beach by the way - Enjoy Mike n Alex

We visited here May half term for a week, returning 1st June. Travelling were myself, my husband, my parents (both in their 70's), and our 3 children aged 9, 12 & 15.

We stayed in block X in a family standard room which is 2 adjoining rooms - there is an outer door which locks and basically 2 separate apartments which the doors can be left open to at night inside the outer door. Block X is about 10 minute stroll from reception and the main reception and pool/entertainment area, but it is about 2 minutes from a smaller pool and 2 smaller restaurants and a bar. My parents originally were put in block AA which I was upset about because they were so far from us but reception agreed to move them the following day without any problems and they moved to Block V close to us.

I have to say that all the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. The hotel is all spotlessly clean, the cleaners come in the rooms every day. When we arrived we were taken to the room with our luggage on a 'golf buggy' the drivers of these buggies were so helpful and friendly and especially with my parents as my mum is in a wheelchair it was never any trouble to come and pick them up.

The beautiful hotel beach is a 5 minute walk and is accessible down 93 steps of a wooden staircase.

The hotel is a bit out of the way with no shops nearby, although one night they had some little stalls set up around the pool area selling gift items. We booked the free hotel bus to Albufeira. It has 3 drop off points and we went into the old town which was lovely - we had lunch in the square.

My youngest attended the Thomas Cook kids club quite a few times and she absolutely loved it. The kids reps are excellent, as is the main Thomas Cook rep Sophie. All were very helpful.

We tended to go to the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner as there is much more choice and go to the smaller 'Grill' restaurant for lunch as it is near the smaller pool. The food was really good - one of the better 'all inclusives' I have been to and I've been to a fair few! Plenty of choice of main courses, changing each night with fish, chicken, pork, different pastas with sauces separate, great salads, puddings etc. There were 2 themed nights whilst we were there, Mexican and Portuguese nights. Plenty to choose from at breakfast too with several cereals, toast machines (never saw any queues), bread rolls, croissants, pancakes being cooked fresh, bacon, sausages, eggs (scrambled, fried, boiled, omelette), fruits, cold meats etc. Coffee machines, water dispensers (which are located throughout the hotel), fruit juices etc.

I personally didn't go in the pool but the kids and hubby didn't mention it being cold. There were always sunbeds available round the smaller pool (didn't go to the main one) and free sunbeds on the hotel beach.

Our son played football most mornings on the pitches with French, Dutch and German people. He also attended free Portuguese lessons in the hotel one morning!

I have to say British people are in the minority there, there are a lot of French, German, Dutch and other Europeans. The hotel 'animation' team were excellent, especially when taking into account they were catering for all these nationalities. Most of them were multi-lingual. They put on some very good shows, including their own tribute to Caberet and Burlesque which was excellent (on it's debut night!). They apparently usually have this entertainment and the mini-disco around the pool area but as it was quite chilly in the evening this was moved into the theatre (apart from the last night). Inside the hotel however they have a guy playing the organ whilst the guests (mostly the German/French people) were dancing.

No it isn't brand new, there were a couple of cracked tiles etc, but you do get what you pay for and we got a quite reasonable deal for us all. If we had any problems though, they were sorted very quickly - even down to me reporting a flickering light bulb outside our room on returning on night (about 11) - obviously not urgent - yet a guy arrived about 5 minutes later to change it. Same with a broken grid my husband mentioned to reception on our way to breakfast was fixed by the time we returned.

Overall we had an amazing holiday in a wonderful clean, friendly hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it, and hope to return some time. Thank you Adriana Beach! "Adri-ana style" from the Holmes/Davies family xx

we returned from the Adriana beach club on the 23rd of may and I can honestly say we didn't want to leave!we were allocated a room in AA block which is about a 3 minute walk from the main complex.i had read reviews before going about the "dreaded" AA/AB block, but I have to say we found it great.we are a family of 3 with a buggy, and it caused us no problems being away from the main complex. We had booked a large standard room and that's exactly what we got. There was ample room for the 3 of us,we also had a bath and shower. There was no tea or coffee making equipment in the room, but again this wasn't a problem for us.We had a balcony, which was very small, but adequate to dry washing. Also there was a water dispenser within the block so you could fill up bottles at night if needed. there was a fridge in the room which was a plus. The cleaners came every day to change towels(if you leave them in the bath),and the bedding was changed regularly. When it came to the main complex I couldn't fault it.The outdoor areas were very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The main restaurant was great for food, lots of dishes at all mealtimes, and lots of desserts. There was also a smaller restaurant and a grill which did various meats and accompaniments. There were snacks available between 10.30-5.30,and also ice cream on offer during this time. There was a hotel run kids club, which was free, and also a Thomas cook kids club.We travelled with jet 2,therefore the Thomas cook kids club wasn't complementary, but after making enquiries with the lovely kids club reps I found out my daughter could attend for 5 euros a time.I can honestly say its the best decision I made to send her to the Thomas cook kids club, the reps(Katie,jo and harry) were absolutely brilliant. My daughter especially enjoyed the chocolate parties! She was very sad to leave them the day we came home, and as a lovely touch they came to see us off.It means a lot to have piece of mind as a parent and I would highly recommend this kids club. The animation team were great, always trying to get people involved, but left you to it if you prefer not to join in the various activities. There was a kids mini disco in the evening, followed by further entertainment later in the evening. The only thing I could fault was the weather,we had 5 days of cloud/rain,but obviously that's just one of those things,The hotel ran a free bus into albufeira 4 times a day which runs mon-sat.You have to book this 24 hours in advance and it gets booked up quickly. We visited the old town a couple of times which was lovely. The beach was absolutely beautiful, and well worth a visit. All in all we had a brilliant holiday, the staff were friendly and helpful, and I will definitely go back.

The Adriana Beach Club was our families first holiday abroad in 6 years so we didn't really know what to expect on arrival but I must say we were absolutely blown away by it. The staff couldn't be more helpful, the cleanliness was 5* and the food was beautiful. The entertainment during the evening was great and we never wanted for anything. We arrived on 24th May 2013 so I'm not sure what it would be like later in the summer but whilst we were there the outside pool was VERY cold, so cold in fact that smaller children couldn't stay in for more than 20mins. Luckily they have an indoor pool also so they could play indoors but whilst the sun is shining you want to be outside. One other comment to make is whilst we were eating in the various restaurants I felt that the waiters/waitresses were hovering around waiting to take your plates away when you hadn't even finished your food. I do realise that they have to keep things moving but maybe not make it so obvious.
After saying this, however, I would definitely return to such a beautiful place.

Room Tip: we found out that the only difference between superior rooms and standard rooms is the décor and the...

The staff were very helpful and kind to us, they were extremely friendly and we could have a laugh with them. The entertainment staff did there job very well, doing 'Gangnam style' every couple of hours near the main pool and a few other dances, every night there was a children's disco and if your lucky enough to see Bruno you will have a great laugh. Since we booked with Thomas Cook there was kiddy's club which was only for people who booked with Thomas Cook. The value for money was well worth it considering all the food we got and you could go up as many times as you like. We personally didn't need snacks but there was many to choose from throughout the day, the ice cream was on 10:30 am until 5:00 pm, there was around 6 flavors including strawberry, caramel, choc chip, chocolate, vanilla and lemon. The cleanliness of the rooms were outstanding! Everyday the cleaners came and mopped the floors and every 2 days they would change the bed sheets. The resort its self was very clean with gardeners were out every day making the flowers and plants look lovely, the sprinklers were also on in the morning. The location of the Adriana could not be better. We were around 5 minutes from the beach and it wasn't near any main roads so it was quiet most of the time. The only thing about the beach is when you check out at 11 in the morning and want to go to the beach you would have to borrow someone else's card since you need your hotel card to enter the gate. The rooms were very nice even though they were standard the beds and pillows were soft and the bathroom was massive, only a few rooms had a huge balcony like ours and you had a lovely view of the beach. At the Adriana the food was very nice but the same things every night unless it was a theme night.

Just returned from a weeks break. Superb place for a relaxing holiday - we had two rooms with adjoining balcony door which could be locked. Our rooms where near the quieter pool/bar, ideal location. Staff could not do enough for you. Food is very good -lots of dining space. Did not try the sports until last few days - Activities team very good and friendly - always so friendly and happy. I tried the Aqua Aerobics and it was hard but fun as was the volleyball in the main pool.

When you walk down the 90ish steps to the beach there are parasols and sun beds for you to use and a lifeguard on duty.

Booked the courtesy coach to Albufeira the day before - but booking got lost in system - so when we turned up no space on the bus - so they managed to get us on the next trip and since no space on the return bus they arranged to collect us after dropping off the staff in the evening. The evening we arrived the plane was delayed - arrived on site at 9:20pm and the staff told us to go straight in to the restaurant so we could eat then we could check in. Then after eating and checking in we got the golf buggy to our room.
Walked in to Vilamoura along the beach - 2 miles to the marina then got a taxi back (16 Euros).

Food is very good and although you have some of the same food daily the main courses change and we had two themed nights. Within a few seconds of finishing your food the plates are cleared away. You can try as little or as much of some of the local specialties that suit your taste. Snacks are available all day in either of the two bar areas - must have put a lot of weight on over the week.

The complete complex is kept very clean and tidy - staff always working on the grounds.

You have the choice of two pools the quieter one and then the main one - both lovely and clean (a little cold at first as not heated) - if you do not take your own towels for the pool you can get some from the reception - but need to leave a 10Euro CASH deposit per towel.

Thomas Cook rep Sophie was very knowledgeable, cheery and helpful.

English and Irish are in the minority - more German's and French - seemed very safe place for children and no lager louts.

Got a little chilly at night - cool wind - would take a jacket.

Room Tip: Rooms in the S area are great.

When reading my for dis/advantages please take into account:
We went as a mature hen party, however, this is not a traditional hen party accommodation.
It was May half term, but not very busy.

The good:

Staff couldn't do enough for you from housekeeping to reception and animation.

Aesthetically beautiful as accommodation low rise. I would rather this and walk for a minute. Unless extremely unfit don't worry about, previous complaints about walking to restaurant area.

Plenty of comfortable beds.

Did not have to queue for drinks or food

Water foundations all arouind complex and accommodation areas

Beach towels provided for a 10 euro deposit

The not so good:

Cannot walk to Albufeira, taxi for 4 about 16 to 18 euros.
Food resistible (that could be good dependable on personal weight issues)
Evenings cool and bar area indoors quite unpleasant and smelly.
Worst entertainment I have ever suffered

Overall great value. Would recommend for mature group holiday and family holiday for one week, maybe struggle for 2 weeks

Room Tip: Take tea bags
