ARRIVAL: We've just returned from a 7 night all inclusive stay at the Sensimar Falesia Atlantic hotel and are already planning to return in 2018. We arrived at 8.45pm after a tiring journey (1.5 hour delay at airport with young children understandably getting tired and whiney) but our welcome in the hotel foyer on arrival couldn't have been more relaxing. We were seated in comfortable chairs and each handed a chilled glass of fizz. Sandra Gabbert (Concept & Customer Relations Manager) then booked us in and advised us of some general hotel details. Cases put into our room (more on our room later!) then we went straight into the dining hall for a well needed meal and glass of wine.

FOOD: So much choice we didn't know where to begin, but our first meal was delicious with a scrumptious dessert of mini gateaux. Every meal we had we enjoyed - how people can even mention that the food is 'samey' is beyond me as we never had the same meal twice. We actually ate more healthily than normal because of the fresh fruit and salad food available (although we were lured by the desserts each day, but we used great restraint and didn't over indulge). Our one allocated visit to the 'Culinaire' restaurant was divine, as was the food and service - a real treat.

THE ROOM: We stayed in a Junior suite at an additional cost of £250. Huge 7' comfortable bed. We had a ground floor suite near the table tennis table. Our terrace was partly obscured by foliage which gave the suite a level of privacy. The sun reached it around 4pm but we aren't ones for sitting on a terrace or balcony so that suited us fine. The ping pong noise didn't bother us much either as we were either out and about or had the doors shut with the air conditioning on. We had a whirlpool bath as part of the seating area of the suite, and yes, we gave it a 'whirl' - very relaxing. The suite was spotlessly clean - thank you to the cleaning staff. We couldn't get the safe to work and in the end a replacement one was fitted - all within 1.5 hours of mentioning it at the Reception desk - impressive, well done.
OUT & ABOUT: We didn't go on any organised trips but had a 10-15 minute walk to the nearby shops and restaurants, and a took a taxi to and from Old Albufeira (€10 there and €12 back). Well worth it.

ACTIVITIES: We didn't go to do activities, just to completely chill out, but there is a long list of programmed activities to choose from - some energetic but others not so such as wine tasting, or cocktail making!

ENTERTAINMENT: Yes it's low key, but entertaining nonetheless - although younger guests may not enjoy it so much perhaps.

STAFF: All very attentive - we are certainly not high mainenance guests but we always felt well catered for and looked after by all staff we met. The Thomson Reps are very helpful and knowledgeable of the hotel and local area, and the bar/restaurant staff generally had a smile for us (or perhaps it was 'at' us, haha). Either way, we never waited long for drinks.

Overall, we had a great holiday - 7 days is just not long enough so we'll be staying for longer next year. Thank you to all at the Sensimar x

Where do I start! All the negative reviews I read before leaving was a worry, either these people are fussy or very unlucky.
From the moment we were greeted in reception with a glass of champagne to book in all the staff were so helpful & pleasant.
We were in Room 2108 for our 10 days & what a room & view.
The huge comfortable bed, large walk in shower & bathroom & fantastic views of the Atlantic.
We upgraded to all inclusive at reception which you can do at any point of you stay for your duration at €20 PPPN this includes lunch & drinks plus snack bar & ice creams.
The food choice in the restaurant was amazing at lunch at least 7 different hot dishes + the freshly cooked to order pasta/pizza station.
At dinner 17 different choices plus pasta station as at lunch.
The waiter staff in the restaurant couldn't have been more helpful & efficient.
Lovely seating area to eat outside but can get busy at times.
The pool area was excellent, no rushing for sun beds these could be found at anytime of the day. The pool can seem cold the first time but you get accustomed to it.
The hotel is set on a cliff edge so a great number of steps down to the beach but is worth it.
The only negative thing I can find to say about is the towels in the bathroom are a bit thin compared to the beach towels they supply for you to use, which can be replaced daily at the life guards point between 10-1pm
We would like to thank all the staff for a fantastic relaxing holiday.

We arrived to a lovely glass of sparkling wine and our cases were taken from us and brought up to our room! The room we had was a superior room with limited sea view. It was enormous. It had a long corridor that lead to another which lead to the bedroom and bathroom!! Amazing!! They were modern and beautifully clean. The bathroom had a double sink and huge shower. I can't explain how big the bed was!! We had a balcony and being all inclusive there was a mini bar that was stocked regular with cans of fizzy drinks and water. The pool was lovely and there was an outdoor Jacuzzi too. It was very peaceful and we also hired the Balinese Bed for the day which was pure luxury. There was a large selection of food at breakfast, lunch and dinner and a pool bar that had snacks all day also so there was always plenty of choice for even the fussiest eater (such as myself). Drinks are available all day (little tip for all inclusive - look at the drinks menu and read the drinks that say ALL - not all the drinks are included some will be charged e.g if you want Malibu and coke ask for rum and coke or if you want Smirnoff and lemonade ask for vodka and lemonade) Some cocktails are included and are very nice so give them a try. If you are after a busy hotel with lots of noisy entertainment this hotel isn't for you however if you want pure relaxation and to be looked after by caring and wonderful staff and to come home feeling rejuvenated. There are themed nights e.g A Gala night, A White party etc so its a bit more lively but overall most nights there are different forms of entertainment. (I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return!!! If I can persuade my mom to have our children again as this was our honeymoon lol)

You are on the sea front however you are on a cliff so you have to walk down some steps. Be warned there are a lot but you walk down some and can walk up some different ones. The view is spectacular!! On the way down there are lots of benches to rest and take some photos and I have a health condition myself and struggle with walking but did manage it.

Overall the hotel is just amazing and was very sad to leave so can't wait in the future to return!!!

Thank you Sensimar Falesia for giving us an amazing experience and we hope to see you very soon!!!!

Room Tip: Superior Room Limited Sea View

Lovely hotel, well maintained with great big huge comfy beds!! Good selection of food in both the morning and the evening however I wouldn't really recommend staying at the hotel after eating as the evening entertainment is not good at all! With regards to eating you MUST eat at the A La Carte place because the food is amazing! Great service, great food and great location. Also loved that this is a Kids Free hotel, perfect!

One small niggle I would have with the hotel is the lack of a pool bar (for drinks and snacks). I really missed this option while staying here, I didn't actually realise I used them so much :)

With regards to location, this place is very good, it's only a short 10 minute walk into town (why they have not built steps down to the town instead of going all the way round is beyond me). Its also very close to two beaches however BE WARNED, the beaches are both at the bottom of a lot of stairs but well worth a visit.

Room Tip: One overlooking the pool with sea views (3096)

The hotel was excellent, clean and well maintained. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Fabulous food, couldn't fault it, plenty of choice. Plenty of activities but no pressure to take part. Only one niggle- in the evening the smokers tended to sit outside so there wasn't anywhere to sit there without being next to the smell and smoke. A smoke free area is needed. Great location for near-by small town and beaches; taxis and buses nearby.
