We had a hard time finding the place with a rental car due to the fact that we made the mistake of not bringing a GPS and due to some misinformation we received from a guy we asked for directions. After realizing that we were close (near "Maria's Restaurant"), we called and asked to have someone meet us in front of the restaurant. Within 5-10 minutes, Stella, who runs the hotel along with her son Giorgio met us an we followed her up the hill.

After the exhausting and annoying travel and search for the hotel, we finally entered our room. Upon opening the balcony door and seeing the wonderful view of the Mediterranean Sea and the nice hotel pool, our mood changed in a heartbeat.

Here are our overall impressions:

1) The property grounds are in perfect shape. The pool and breakfast area are not only very pretty, but also very conveniently laid out.

2) The free daily breakfast is more than reasonable. There is a good variety of food. Stella and Giorgio will try to accommodate your every wish. No request seems to be too burdensome for them.

3) The rooms are fairly small, yet very clean and pretty functional. The same goes for the shower and the bathroom.

4) Undoubtedly, the highlight of this premise is ***Giorgio***. I am confident that he is as informative, nice and friendly of a hotel owner as you will find anywhere in the world. Every day, he took his time to explain all the different tourist sights and options around the island. He hand drew directions, instructions on where to park, what restaurants to go to, etc. He was correct 100% of the times. He even went a step further and provided information on useful web sites/phone apps for airline tickets and GPS features.
We had trouble with the engine of our rental car (had to get a different car) in the middle of our trip. He even tried helping with the troubleshooting of the issue and arranging a different car for us. IT seemed like he and his mom were around the property around the clock, trying to please the guests' every wish.

If we ever visit Crete again, Renieris will undoubtedly be on top of our list.

We stayed here for 2 weeks at the end of June 2014. It is the cleanest hotel we have ever stayed in - anywhere! The family made us [and the other guests] extremely welcome. Nothing was too much trouble, whether it was an extra pillow or directions to a local beauty spot.

We stayed here in June and had a brilliant time. We arrived really late and even though reception was closed the owners has left a note and key for us on the reception desk.
We could not fault the room. It was spotless. The beds are comfortable, clean and there is no noise pollution. Breakfast is served by the pool buffet style with lots to choose from. The owners are really friendly and very helpful. Good wifi is available throughout and there is tea and coffee available all day. Great information, newspapers and magazines in the reception area and the grounds are beautifully kept. The beach is just down the steps and there are lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. We hired a car. Parking was easy and free and Chania is only 10 minutes away. Everything about this hotel is fantastic don't stay anywhere else in Crete.

We stayed at the Renieris for one week and I can only recommend this hotel for everyone travelling to the west coast of crete! Excellent service from the customer Georgios(hopefully written right) who reads every wish from your eyes! And the best thing about Georgios is that he offers you always a smile! Vety rare nowadays to get a sincere smile! Very good breakfest VERY CLEAN rooms and romantic location on a hill near to the sea! Best hotel in Kato Stalos and probably beyond!

Our first time in Crete and what a fabulous hotel (cannot believe it is only a 2*). George and Stella looked after us from the moment we arrived to the day we left, nothing was too much trouble for them always giving 5* service with a smile. The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, leisurely lunches on the terrace were always tasty and reasonably priced, Stella's "special Omlettes" and the complimentary desserts were to die for.....We stayed in room 24 which was clean and very comfortable with picturesque views over the beach and beautiful sunsets. We will certainly be returning next year.

Wow what can I say, having stayed here twice last year we could not wait to return, having just spent 10 wonderful days here it only gets better, a wonderful new breakfast area over looking the sea and the fab new beds make for a most comfortable sleep.Cant believe this is still rated a 2 Star,I would give it 5star every time, it is the most intimate hotel and so good for the soul.Nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff, you have to try this once in a lifetime and I'm sure you would agree.

Room Tip: The junior suite is just amazing.
