“Well sited for visiting Cornwall”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

This is a very convenient hotel for going to many of the popular sites of Cornwall. The hotel is sited a few miles west of Truro on the A39, making it very convenient for visiting places such as Falmouth, St Ives, Newquay and Padstow.
The reception staff are very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are well maintained and clean. Batrooms are very clean. The hot water can get very hot, so beware!
There is a 'Table Table' restaurant on site.
There is no a/c but heater/fans are provided. The tv is free standing and adequate.
Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift to take you to the first floor and this can make bag handling a little cumbersome.
There is a supermarket (Asda) about 15 minutes further along the A39 that is convenient for petrol and supplies.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 66 which overlooked the countryside and was very quiet.

This is a good base for Falmouth Univ where we picked up our son. The room was older looking than I remember it before but Ok we had No 66 on floor 1 this time (and no lifts) A quite room with a sofa, TV was awfully small (I've got bigger laptops) and perched on the edge of the desk, free view channels (but at least much better than Prem Inn Newton Abbott last week 7 feet up in the air. Loo is a push button flush rather than handle not ideal but bathroom std and clean. Soap comes from push dispensers, kettle for tea (takes over 10 mins to boil quicker boiling using a candle?). Lighting ok but not one you have to place your room card into to work. We're be back in Sept 14 for our son's 2nd year at Falmouth. Yet again when we arrived the information of our food booking didn't reach the restaurant (thats four times in a row now) and clearly a fault that needs sorting. Luckily we eat early at Table Table as from 7pm its hopeless to get served and through your meal in under 2 hours. This was a Sunday 5.45pm and they were already down to the last T-Bone hopefully that's better in Sept. Good size car park. Room got pretty hot and supplied fan didn't make a great deal of difference

Room Tip: No 66 upstairs no lift view of trees some 30 feet away

Stayed here for 3 nights. Usual Premier Inn standards. Good clean rooms, helpful staff. Beds better than average for Premier Inns. Possibly a bit on the pricey side but maybe a feature of the area. Most people give free wi-fi , don't see why one has to pay £3 for 24 hours though. At this price should be incorporated. Very impressed with the breakfast setup!

Room Tip: Go for low numbers - it's a bit of a trek for the numbers over 30! We had number 41

Booked a Saturday night (14th June) to visit the old folks! Have stayed here many times and running my own business I use Premier Inn for business stays too.

We checked in at 5pm only 2 hrs after check in opened and on the desk was a sign saying Sunday was Fathers Day and consequently breakfast was going to be busy, was asked for my card to make payment and was then asked if we wanted to book breakfast! Was not very impressed with having to decide at 5:15pm what tine we wanted breakfast but asked for 8pm. Was told couldn't have 8pm but they had before 7:45am or after 9:45am!!! This seems reticule us to effectively ban residents from breakfast during this time.

I asked for breakfast to be removed and we would eat elsewhere . Was then advised couldn't have breakfast refunded as supposedly on a included rate. This I disputed as breakfast is always added after initial room booking, and also we couldn't have breakfast when we wanted. After registering our displeasure receptionist agreed to refund £17.50 for two breakfasts.

Room was very good apart from odd positioning of TV on sideboard edge!

Booked dinner in the accompanying Table Table for 4 of us incl parents. Food as always was excellent and waitress Natasha (I think) really saved the day with her excellent and friendly service.

As other people have mentioned these hotels particularly this one are no longer "cheap" and to then be restricted on breakfast was poor. I can only assume they had let too many tables to non residents.

Unfortunately we might have to reconsider if the premier inn is where we want to spend our business accommodation budget.
