“What a place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 September 2013

We ate here on our second night in Goonhavern and having eaten in the New Inn the night before I wasn't expecting much. I was wrong!
The place is large and extensive that caters well for families. Large play areas, pool tables and an excellent outside veranda.
The menu is not extensive, which is a good thing as what we had was cooked well with a prompt service.
The staff are friendly and accommodating and the prices affordable.
The only negative I saw was the gents toilets, these could definitely do with modernisation or even doors that don't clash with direction.

An excellent venue, wish I had come here the previous night

“Excellent Meals and Child Friendly.”

A brilliant place to dine inside or outside, a wide choice on the menu and a peaceful setting, but most of all a childrens play area close to the dining area.

“Really nice food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 August 2013

Coming home from a late day out we stopped in about 8.30. Big car park which was a quarter full which is normally not a good indication especially in the height of summer. We all decided to try it. Inside and outside was spacious. Kids loved the play area and pool tables. Very friendly staff. Good choice of food. Food came quick for all 8 of us. Big size portions for adults and kids. Food was hot. Food was excellent! Dessert was also excellent. Bar staff were friendly. Only negative was the mens toilets were smelly. We all really enjoyed the night, just cant understand why it wasn't packed..

“Food ok, bit scruffy.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2013

Due to the rain we were looking for a pub where the children could play. It's a bit scruffy and dark and the food is average. Very busy pub so advise booking in advance.
Messed up our food order twice and waitress was sullen.

Would recommend the Fort Inn in Newquay which is much nicer and not too far to drive.

“Review v2”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2013

I left a review for this on their hotel page by mistake, to re-cap the lunch we had was really nice, a tuna baguette and a bacon & stilton jacket spud, the pub in general was nice, beer garden great and I'd happily spend a good few hours here.

I commented that the bar staff where underwhelming and received a response from the manager there that it was his/her 14 year old son in training, however they hadn't read the review properly because it was the older man on the bar that was "robostaff".
Unfortunately I can't reply to their post on that page, so I'm trying here.
