Location was perfect right next to a lovely beach which was sandy and very safe and shallow for children to play in. It was kept really clean and the two bed apartments were very big. Only problem was the self catering facilities were a bit limited and food and drink prices were expensive in hotel. All staff were very helpful. And apartments were cleaned daily

Try cosy corner cafe for lovely food and the dilemma bar for great cocktails. Don't go on the Thomas cook trip to smugglers cove boat very crowded and over priced try special offer tours for trips very well organised and a lot cheaper.

Room Tip: Rooms near the rear of hotel are quieter at night some rooms near cafe can be noisy at night

We stayed at the abh 11 aug - 25 aug. On arrival we were greeted by very helpful and happy staff. Our suitcases were even carried to our room. We stayed in room 129 and had a sea view. The air con and safe were average price for greece.

The pools were clean and yes there was a suncream residue around the edge of the baby pool, but you had to look close to see it. The play ground was better than most in the uk.

The bar staff were always cheerful and worked hard.

Dave (karaoke) was very entertaining and coped well with the power cuts. Some singers were better than others, but good on them for performing in front of strangers.

Staff at reception were always ready to help, whether you needed extra pillows or to order a taxi.

Our only complaint was sunbeds! The selfishness of certain guests putting towels on sunbeds at 7-8am, but not using them until 3pm was very out of order! The staff tried to rectify the situation, but unfortunately had verbal abuse hurled at them by vile guests!
Basically our advice would be reserve a sunbed with your backside and not a towel !!!!!!!

We went on trips with promote greece, who are just up from the hotel. Sue our guide, was amazing and very knowledgeable.

Due to the sunbed situation we visited the thomson hotel and used the waterpark.

Overall our holiday was a relaxing chilled out break. 4.5/5

stayed at tiara beach for a week in july 16-23,and we really enjoyed, myself, wife and 5yr old boy stayed in room s307 which had a nice view out towards the beach.the rooms were spacious and cleaned every day. great pools and slides which my boy loved, even the steep blue one, always cleaners cleaning the place morning to night, the food could have been a little hotter, but always found something to eat, they could do with a few more bar staff as it gets quite busy day and night the entertainment team were great during the day with different games but not so good in the night, great location with a 15 min stroll into town,or take the land train, loved sunny beach itself great bears and places to eat.would recommend this hotel and we would go back.

Room Tip: pool view seemed to be the best

Location of these apartments are great, we had 2 x 2 bedroom apts for 2 adults and 5 children. Apartments are a good size but the kitchen facilities are not great, the fridge blocks access to nearly all the kitchen but there is a table you can use as worktop and draining board! The rooms were cleaned daily well when i say cleaned the bucket of water for the floors was never changed and was filthy, we had to spray air freshner everywhere when they had finished, the shower curtain was minging and it was a gamble if you got decent towels that weren't heavily stained. Prices around the pool were a joke - 4 euros 50 for a manky coffee and 6 euros for 2 small cokes, 7 euro for 2 ice creams. You can buy cans of pop from the on site shop for 80 and most people did even though it states you can't eat and drink your own stuff round the pool. My biggest bug bear was the - open to all sign that meant daily we were invaded by locals ( weekends were the worst) and other Brits staying nearby that either didn't have access up a pool or just fancied a dip in ours. The pool is barely big enough for when they are fully booked, and the fight for sun beds begins at least at 7am despite the signs saying towels would be taken away if they were reserved , this was never done during my 2 week stay and neither was the pool cleaned during this time and a thick scum was left around the baby pool the whole time I was there. These people use all the facilities and barely buy a drink especially the locals who turned up with huge picnics and completely took over the eating area, so if you wanted to eat lunch round the pool you had to fit in with them who wouldn't move even though they hadn't purchased a thing!!! Weekends were chaos round the pool and I genuinely feared someone would get hurt as nothing was regulated. Big groups of teens who were staying were having a good time round the pool pushing each other in and larking about but because we were so heavily invaded the pool was in my opinion dangerous. Talking to people round the pool and discovered most had stayed numerous times I was in disbelief I certainly won't be returning.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, the views, the beach and you get a very welcoming breeze as it does get absolutely boiling from 11am onwards.
The studio room we stayed in was great with a fab queen-size bed and a single for my 13yr old. We had fab views looking over to Alykes, the mountains, sea with evening sunshine. Rooms cleaned daily, we hired aircon and was glad we did. (90euro for 2weeks). The full size fridge was great with small freezer compartment, kettle and toaster we used for coffee and toast on the balcony in the morning. (Go to bakery in Alykanas for your bread lovely and fresh 1euro a loaf and 40 cents each for lovely fresh rolls) Didn't use other equipment.
Staff were great, Nikos and Freddie were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The 2 girls waitressing and Yiannis didn't stop as snacks are very popular. Breakfast was really nice 4.50 for full english and great pizzas too.
The evening entertainment consisted of karoke, quizzes and music requests with Dave (lovely fella). Don't expect much in Alykanas in the way of entertainment as it focuses on eating out and not live music or singers.
Plenty of water sports on beach, we hired jet ski's and a boat which we took around to blue caves and ship wreck. I would advice go on an organised boat trip to ship wrck as the water is very choppy around there with a lot of big boats which i found quite frightening, but to the blue caves was fine and we anchored up and enjoyed jumping off and swimming around the boat in the amazing lear blue sea.
Apollo restaurant great for a lunch time gyros, but the Pardosiako is the restaurant to visit along side the canal, it has the wow factor when it comes to good food and very reasonable too.
We hired a car for 60euro for the day and went down south and west of the island, a great day out.
My son was ill whilst out there, the hotel called for the doctor who visited our room, there is an initial payout of 60 euros and then he deals direct with your insurance even if you need to see him a few times throughout your stay.
So to sum it all up i would highly recommend the hotel, place and island. But don't expect lots of entertainment like you would in Spain, it's a much more chilled holiday focusing on family time eating out in good restaurants the place has to offer.
