The Grapevines is in a nice location.
The family who run it are very friendly.

The bar is a central focal point where you can meet people and there is a snack menu and happy hour.

The apartments were kept very clean by the maid service but the towel replacement was a bit erratic.

The accommodation itself was really need of a bit of an uplift.
Our fridge was painted white to hide the age and underlying rust and the ice box cover was broken. The cupboards were musky with a mouldy smell. The air conditioning rattled away.

I suppose you expect basic in Greece but this still felt it needed a refurb and lick of paint.

In summary this is a nice friendly place in a good location with a good bar service, but could do with an accommodation refresh (at least for our room).

It was more than we expected, a great welcome by members of staff. Clean and tidy rooms.A clean and well kept pool. Well stocked bar and good breakfast if required. Andy runs a tight ship but with a relaxed holiday she was great.
Only a short walk to the main part of the town and the beach, so you avoid what town noise there is but you cant avoid the early morning get up call from the local cockerel with insomnia
Do pay for the air conditioning and spray for the blasted mozzies, what ever part of the day they get hungry.

we returned to the grapevines again this year 27 may for 2 weeks.we were given a welcome second to none by andi the owner and all our requests were met. throughout the holiday we were treated like family rather than guests. the rooms are typically greece but kept spotless by mimosa . andi is a fantastic cook and does special nights. saturday is the barbeque and dancing and her stifado is most excellent. these are along with the usual all day menu. drinks are good value and quality.the pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds for everyone. the apartments are in a quiet location but close to all the bars and tavernas. thanks andi to you and your family miri mimosa and emy for a fantastic holiday. see you next year .rich and cheryl xxxxxxx

We stayed at the Grapevines a couple of years ago and fell in love with the place, so returned again this year from 13th to 20th May. As soon as we arrived, we were given a warm welcome by Andy and Meera (who took our bags to our room). Grapevines is a very friendly place. It's in a quiet location, just a short stroll from the main resort of Alykanas. The rooms are a good size, and are kept clean, and the pool and bar area is fantastic. We decided to go on the Trainkaki again this time, but opted for the evening "Greek Night" trip on the Saturday evening. Cost is only 19 Euros each and well worth it for the train ride from the Jammin Bar in Alykanas to and from the Taverna, and a four-course meal with wine. It was great fun - and the trip back was lively to say the least (must have been the red wine and ouzo)! We enjoyed our stay at Grapevines so much again that we've decided to come back for another week later in the season. Have a great one Andy, and see you in a few months' time. Lynne & John.
