We were two families of 4 and had a great day hiring two boats to crew ourselves. The company picked us up from our hotel in an Air Conditioned minibus and took us to Vourvourou beach. You are given a full safety briefing and instructions on how to operate the boats which was very straight forward and the children enjoyed driving the boats. You are given a map of Diaporos Island which you can sail around and explore the crystal blue waters and the secluded coves. We were given a cool bag with food in and there is an ice box on the boat to keep drinks cool. It was good value for money and a lovely way to spend our last day.
We only discovered Dream Swim towards the end of our holiday, the boats do seem to get booked up, so book early to avoid disappointment. There are bigger boats to hire with a captain and they offer organised trips if you don't fancy sailing it yourself.
Special thanks to Alex who drove back to our hotel having dropped us off, which was a 40 minute drive, after one of the children left their sunglasses on the minibus.More
Nikos was a fantastic captain and gave us a great tour of the 2nd and 3rd legs, including the monasteries of the 3rd leg.
Thoroughly recommended! :)
We had a great day with the boat in Vouvourou. We will definitely rent there a boat again. They have the newest boats, you will get water for the day in a cooler and after the trip they will send you a foto from your GPS route. It's a nice souvenir from the day. Moreover everybody was very kind and professional.
There are several places for short-term boat rental on Vourvourou beach. From a quick look around the beach, and from skimming the websites of the different companies (those that have them), we settled on Dream Swim, since they seemed to be the best organized and the most professional. They were also the only ones who had the option of a half day rental. Our first impression turned out to be correct. Service was very friendly and professional. The boat was new and in excellent shape, and the brief training we got covered all important points needed to operate the boat. The boat ride itself is a fantastic experience and should not be missed, if you are in the area. As a bonus, you get a map with a GPS track of where you were during your excursion.
This was actually the second time when I rented a boat with Dream Swim. The first time was 2 years ago and like then, I was now absolutely satisfied with using them.
Firstly, their team is really friendly and cooperative - the will give you detailed and comprehensive instructions on how to use the boat and will provide you with useful hints, tips and recommendations for the places wort visiting. Then, the boats they provide are new, comfy, easy to use and safe. Though their prices are slightly higher than other rent-a-boat companies in the region, they are actually justified as the quality you get is well worth the money.
Here's a tip - bring your phone/mp3 player together with the USB cable as you can actually play your own music while on board. Also, do take a cooler bag with provisions (food and beverages) as otherwise the closest place you can supply these once you get on the boat is the Lagonisi beach.
Also, if you don't feel like sailing the entire day, you can rent a boat for a half day. Either way, do call and book a boat in advance as they run low quite fast.
You may also consider taking a boat during the weekend, when the beaches are more busy, so that you can get away from the crowds.
New, beautiful boats, friendly, kind and professional team, cares for you and your safety.
Highly recommended.
