Lovely hotel, but we prefer to stop by for a drink and lounging on lazy afternoons. Only drawback is the beach here is a bit murky.

But other than that, beautiful service in a very special and serene setting.

Ekies is beautiful and secluded as the other reviews have said...the weather was absolutely stunning while we were there and the pictures you'll find online are similar to how it appears. Everything is just a bit...less nice, however, than it looks in the pictures. We upgraded after arriving and seeing the dismal state of the room we paid for to be in a room with a terrace (however it cost us hundreds of euros). The small beach that the hotel is quaint and a bigger beach is a short walk away though that beach was quite dirty, had campers on it, and was occasionally quite busy! We ate in the Ekies restaurant the first night and were disappointed at the prices and lack of choice. The breakfasts in the restaurant were included with our room and were similar to other Greek buffets--everything seemed to taste of olives, even the honey! (And there is an amazing choice of honeys)! Lots of flies everywhere, so you would find them in the jam as you were buttering your toast. The cocktail bar was nice enough but also very overpriced. We found a family owned taverna a short walk down the beach, however, where we ate for the following 6 nights! It is excellent. There is also a grocery store a short walk away down the beach, which we would recommend for buying things like bottled water and snacks if you don't want to pay at the Ekies restaurant. The nearby pizza place was pretty terrible and we never saw it very busy. Overall it was a 3 star experience paid for at a 4-5 star price though the place has some great potential, and the views and some of the rooms are spectacular.

Room Tip: Upgrade or ask to be located in the building nearer the beach(at the least, ask to be away from the sprinkler system and air conditioners)

We stayed at ekies all senses resort in mid september. First we had a large suite booked but when we arrived we saw that we can not stay in this room due to very low ceiling. We spent 1 nite in that room and next day we were transferred to another room which had high ceiling. The people at the reception were really helpful and kind and friendly. The best thing about this hotel is that it is right on the beach. The sea water is very shallow and the beach is sandy so it makes it perfect for little children. The food at the restaurant is really good. The breakfast variety is also very good. But unfortunately I can not say the same thing about service. Once the buffet trays were empty; they did not renew them unless we warned them 2-3 times and we had to wait.. Sometimes our drink orders were forgotten and we had to remind them 2-3 times.. This was a little disturbing. But we still liked the hotel and had a really good time.

Wow what a place. A family holiday that actually felt like a luxury break for me and my husband too. Ekies is an amazing secluded resort, with a private beach where your kids can play for hours while you laze on the sumptuous sofa's sipping Sauvignon.
The Al la Carte Menu is divine, and you can enjoy mouthwatering food delicately presented, while the kids eat delicious homemade burgers and fries

A lot of guests have complained about children, but the hotel is advertised as a kid friendly boutique hotel - exactly why we chose it. Just because you have children does not mean you want to go to a large loud resort with buffet style food. We absolutely loved the décor, space and tranquil gardens, but most of all the food and scenery!

We have already booked to go again next year, stayed in the family suite - which was ample room and space for down time for us. Two 16 year olds, a 3 year old and my husband and I.

We have just returned from a week at Ekies, we had a really relaxing time, the weather was beautiful and food was great.

We stayed in the "penthouse suite" which was beautifully presented just had some minor niggles about it - it's in the loft so a section of the room was under slanting roof. Neither myself or my husband could fit under the shower which was open plan and right THERE when you open your door to the suite (fine for us but good to know if your were staying with friends). The bathroom was beautiful with a huge marble bath .... Just shame there was never enough hot water to enjoy it. We had our newborn son with us, the cot did not fit in the bedroom so he essentially was in the corridor of the suite which made nap times difficult as you had to creep around. We were not aware the hotel did not have a lift and the first couple of days we were carrying our rather large and heavy pram up and down the stairs - know one pointed out the buggy park in reception (also us being unobservent).

The jacuzzi is fantastic just takes a long time to fill and have to ring daily to get someone to sort it. It would have been nice for it to be filled for the day when we were out for breakfast instead of having to chase reception everyday.

The balcony is a large with beautiful views and very comfy sun loungers and in the sun all day- perfection. Just be aware that next doors balcony is not obscured at all just a few plants separating the two.

The food at breakfast was perfect - fresh and delicious. The granola station (with over a dozen different dried fruits, nuts etc) was my favourite with so many options to choose from and the "egg man" was everyone's favourite with omelettes, fried eggs and pancakes being cooked on order.

We did half board and dinner was lovely 4 courses of soup, a salad, main; either pasta or a Greek course and a pudding. There was always Greek salad on offer for starter. I did enjoy the food but felt like a second class citizen to the 'A la Carte-restaurant" who had the much nicer area of the restaurant and great views. The wine was not to our tasting and they ran out of beer two nights - it was end of season. Food at lunch was delicious there is a choice of the beach bar menu or the restaurant - beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view in the sun. It must be said that the staff work incredibly hard and we were so impressed with the smooth running of the hotel.

In summary we had a wonderful stay, the resort was full but did not feel busy at all, not crowded. Yes there are a lot of toddlers but it's a great resort for children and highly recommended.
