Not very impressed with this restaurant. Unenthusiastic service, average food. The fish was dry, but the red peppers 'Florina style' were good. We got the usual complimentary fruit at the end of the meal, a plate of grapes off their stem that look suspiciously like the left-overs from someone else's table!
For a good fish tavern, I would suggest you push a little further to the coastal village of Sfinari, home of the great "Sunset Fish Tavern".

The fish soup doesn't worth the 50 euro you pay for it. It tastes like lemon and olive oil, not like fish. I suggest you choose something else, like anchovy or mixed fried fish or grilled fish.
The location is nice, but you pay more than average for it. There are just a few tables on the beach, the ones in the terrace are full of loud families and friends so if you're looking for something romantic choose one table on the beach or go somewhere else.

We had gone three times to Captain Nikolas during out stay in Crete, each time the fish was better and fresh. The last one was a fantastic 21/2 kilo fish cooked to perfection by ' the Mama'. One of the beat fish ever not only in Crete. Service is also very good.

Always enjoy eating here, especially after a day at the magnificent Falasarna beach - good fresh fish, as well as all other dishes - wonderful outdoor eating, right on the sand/sea/port - simple, bringing back "the old Greece" - comfortable, kids can run, play, explore - time your arrival for the sunset

A very good taverna, right next door to the tiny fishing harbour at Falasarna, ensures that the fish is certainly fresh.

Cooked simply, with some tasty accompaniments... Good fried courgettes, delicious florina roasted peppers, tasty & mild Horta etc. & good value. Recommended.
