Me and my partner stayed here in July it was our first holiday together we didnt expect to much to be honest when i first booked it was just a little getaway. I could not have been more impressed if i stayed 5* anywhere. The rooms were basic for what you used them for had everything that you would need. Building was lovely view from our balcony was lush. Greek night was where everyone started to migle was such a laugh made some good friends really enjoyed myself. Christos made our holiday special he could not have done more for us when we were there. On our last night we went down to his beach to see the sun set was fabulous defo worth doing! Filias food was amazing we ate all our meals there even though restaurants were seconds away could not beat the food here. The room was cleaned 3 times in the week we stayed which was fine because we wernt messy , the whole place is cleaned by one older lady so please dont be put off by the other reviews.Christos took us all to the airport so we didnt have to get the travel agents bus back which would have taken ages gave us a lovely send off. I am not a one to write reviews on holidays i only read them but this place deserves to be heard. Christos, Filia thank you very much hope to see you real soon.

Room Tip: Room 21 best view big balcony

Very friendly family run hotel offering excellent service and facilities. Christos and the rest of the family were always very willing to do anything they could to make our holiday better (Filia's food was delicious!). The studios may be at the top of a very steep hill but the rooms have excellent views over Troulos bay. This was our first holdiay in Skiathos but we definitely intend to return and see more of this beautiful island - staying at Filia of course.

Room Tip: Studios on he top two floors have the best views and benefit from any cooling breeze available.

Filia Studios is not only a lovely, well equipped, spotlessly clean hotel in beautiful settings, but it is also run by one of the friendliest, most attentive and helpful familes you will ever meet. From the moment we arrived, Christos, Filia, Yiannis, Takis and the rest of the family Sanidas made us feel like long lost friends.

The studios themselves are simple but well resourced and comfortable with everything working, well maintained and very clean. The balcony area is spacious with beautiful views down the green, flower filled, valley to the sea.

The bathroom? Well for regular travellers to Greece all I will say is - shower hook and curtain, tons of gushing hot water late into the night, plug in the sink and even a bath mat!

The pool area, surrounded by lovely gardens, is of the same high standard with plenty of sundbeds and parasols plus lots of comfy chairs and a double swing seat in a quiet corner under a trellis arch of vines and flowers. The bar and restaurant area next to the pool is well stocked with a large indoor seating area complete with extensive library and good size pool table. The menu is great, with dishes prepared with love and care by Filia containing many ingredients originating from the family's gardens, orchards and livestock. Fresh eggs from the chickens, lemons, tomatoes, olives, home pressed olive oil and more. The wine list was also good - my partner was particularly taken with the red!

The hotel's greatest assets are usually just behind the bar - Christos and his mother Filia. Christos was our constant host, chauffeur, organiser, negotiator and, most importantly of all, friend. He is charasmatic, organised, professional and very very hard working but always appears relaxed and cheerful. He speaks fluent English and had no problems with the wide variety of British dialects thrown at him when we stayed! Filia, as well as being a fantastic cook, is also an amazing host and keen instructor in the Greek language!

The lovely relaxed family atmosphere helped the guests get to know each other very well - we made some great friends on our stay. The big social night is the Sunday night BBQ set alight by Filia's gorgeous food, great music, lots of dancing and laughter. Not to be missed!

Getting around on the island is made very easy by the Christos-bus. From 8am to midnight Christos or his Dad, Yiannis, will take you in their minibus (modern, clean with a/c of course) to or from the beautiful Skiathos Town or to one of the 60 stunning beaches for less than the price of any taxi and at a comparible rate to the very good, but often overcrowded, public busses. They will even insist on taking you to the airport at the end of your stay so you can beat the check-in queues.

Christos will also help to organise trips, car or boat hire and negotiate with any of the businesses on the island to ensure his guests are getting the best deals and service possible.

The family own part of Agia Eleni beach on the far west of the island. It's a short drive and they will run you there in the Christos-bus whenever you want. It is one of the nicest beaches of the island, very attractive with a lovely chilled out taverna bar, good safe swimming and good for snorkelling. Agia Eleni is also the best spot on the island to watch the stunning sunset. Troulos beach is also very nice and just a ten minute walk from the hotel.

Troulos as is a small, laid back resort with a good selection of restaurants - the best currently being the newly oppened 'Salt and Pepper'. A must for food lovers with both some great twists on trad Greek and lovely contemporary seafood and meat dishes - a notch above the usual. The spaghetti and lobster with saffron (€30 for 2 people) was our favourite.

Some other quick highlights from our stay -
- chartering a sailing yacht for the day (via Christos, naturally) with 10 other guests and sailing to Skopelos, Tsougria and around Skiathos in relative luxury.
- scuba diving with the wonderful Theo from Octopus diving centre (one of the the best dive masters, especially for beginners, I have met) - find him in the harbour (or ask you know who to arrange!)
- watching the sunset on Agia Eleni beach
- eating at The Windmill restaurant (you may need to book in advance)
- The BBQ!

I have been to Greece and its islands 15 times over the last 30 years and have stayed accommodation ranging from 5* hotels to no star pansyons. Finding a place that combines comfort, a beautiful setting, cleanliness and great customer service is rarer than seeing a polar bear on Agia Eleni beach!

So many of the guests who come to Filia Studios are repeat customers, some who have been coming for years. I am definitely planning to join their ranks - only 49 weeks to our next stay!

Filia and Christos taught us some new words and phrases on our stay - one in particular comes to mind when we think of Filia - θαυμάσια! (pronounced 'Thavmassia') Look it up.

Note 1: Hill of Death? I've seen longer slides in kiddie parks! (It's really not that bad! and there is an easier route, plus the advantage of the Christos-bus if you really struggle.

Note 2: If you have any problems at all - want bigger towels, something not quite right in the room etc. just ask Christos. Don't be all British about it and mumble under your breath until the last day when you mention something and he looks at you with exasperation and says 'why didn't you tell me!!!!

Note 2: Watch out for Arni the Ram!!!!

The Filia is a unique place, not exceedingly plush or swish, though it has an atmosphere and service provided that is utterly superb. Nothing is too much to ask of Christos and his family, they go out of their way, consistently, to ensure that your holiday is exactly as you want it to be and that you get the best experience available. Have never said that I'd go back to a holiday destination twice, as there's a lot of places to see and visit, though I know we will all be back here, probably in the near future, cannot praise it high enough!!!

Filia Apartments – before we went on holiday I knew we would enjoy ourselves – but we could not have imagined that it would be so lovely!

On arrival the bus dropped us and we met Christos for the first time – he collected us and our luggage – he insisted on taking it and took it to our room – with the words ‘ you are on holiday now – you just need to enjoy yourselves’. That was pretty much how Christos and his family are – you enjoy yourselves and they make you feel like one of the family!!

The rooms are lovely – we had a side room which looked over the pool and out across to the sea one way and up the mountains the other. The rooms are basic - Greek ! they are cleaned every day but have all that you need

The area around the pool is quiet and relaxing, the bar has everything you need even ice cream cornets if you’re hot!

Definitely go on the `Greek night’ – really good fun – but you have to take part!! Christos and his mum (who is a fantastic cook – they will tell you when she is cooking a special) make the night for you!

I don’t really want to tell you all the bits – its fun to find out - but be confident – it’s a haven! You can relax, have fun and find out everything you need to about the island – knowing that you have the best advisor at your fingertips!

We will be back!! Thankyou Christos, Filia and all for a lovely relaxing week,

Helen & Eleanor

Well where do i start, we had our dream holiday at the filia studios. We were made so welcome from our first step off the bus by christos....the apartment was clean with a wonderfull view from the balconay of the sea, nothing was too much trouble for christos or any of the family, which we got to know...from the air conditioning to the games of pool (which christos lost quite a few of :-) ) to (mama) filias cooking, the lovely cleaning lady, and the many bus trips to christos beach to watch the wonderfull sunset on beach Agia Eleni. This holiday was by far the most relaxing and perfect time to share as mum and daughter. The pool was very well kept and always sunlounges avaliable, the service at the bar was always quick and food was always avaliable freshly cooked.
Greek night was a great hit, and all the guests photos were taken and are up on the wall of fame, the bar closed when the last person went to bed, and ususally that was me and mum. Christos even took us into town one evening, so we didnt have to et a bus, and he even took us to the airport on our way home.
This family work very hard in ensuring you have a wonderfull stay, me and mum are looking already at going back next year with our new addition to the family and if we can find a late deal this september we will back even earlier, truly amazing holiday, would recommend to anyone.

I could talk for pages about Studios Filia and still not paint a proper picture of the warmth, friendliness and fun afforded everyone who stayed there by the fantastic Family Sanidas!

My wife Deb and I felt at home from the moment we were picked up by the Christos-bus on our first day, and the day we had to leave was such a wrench I have a lump in my throat right now just thinking about it!

Christos and his fabulous folks could not do enough for their guests - although guests is probably the wrong word! More appropriately we should regard ourselves as cousins because that's how they made everyone of us feel - like family! My wife and I have never felt so relaxed on any other holiday and it was all down to the Sanidas'.

As I said, mere words cannot do justice to the service provided by the Studios Filia gang, you just have to go there and experience it for yourselves - you will NOT be disappointed!

Like other couples who have taken the time to write a review, Deb and I will be returning to Studios Filia next year for certain (hope the wedding invitation still stands Christos & Rebecca) and a word of warning to Christos - I WILL be practising my pool!!

Skiathos is a wonderful island, and the beaches we visited - Troulos and Aghia Eleni were tanfastic, and watching the sunset from Aghia Eleni beach was another amazing highlight of our fortnight stay - arranged courtesy of Mr Fixit (aka Christos), of course!

As soon as you finish reading this review, get off your bum and go book your stay at Studios Filia - and don't bother packing a phrase book - Mama Filia will teach you to speak Greek!!!

Kalispera!!!
