First, I must agree with the other reviewers who think this hotel is not a five star. The golden days seems to be over. Nice and welcoming, but do not expect luxury. With that said, I would return to this hotel.
Location: The hotel is situated in a quiet and beautiful location. From the airport or to the Corfu city centre we took a taxi - about 5-10 min. A few great restaurant/taverna choices for lunch or dinner near the hotel. The view from our balcony was lovely, and we sat there for hours every day. (Be sure to book a sea view room).
Facilities: The hotel is not a family resort, we hardly saw any kids, which we prefer because it's quieter. The airport is very close, and we did hear some noise and saw the airplanes landed, but we did not find it very disturbing. (It’s a small airport). The hotel has a large pool, all the sunbeds were taken as always in these kind of hotels. So, we did not use the pool, but took the hotels private outdoor elevator to the beach instead. Excellent, we used the small but lovely beach area every day! Tip: The hotel shop is very expensive, if you go down the street about 3-400 meters you will find a supermarket.
Restaurant/bar: We had breakfast and dinner included in our stay. We did not try the breakfast, but we actually ate dinner at the hotel buffet six out of seven days because we truly loved the food. Fresh, tasty and varied food every day. After dinner we went upstairs to the hotel bar (with reasonable prices) , a nice place to relax and to be humored by the entertainment - a new guy with a keyboard every night- all of them with poor English skills.
Rooms: Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. A bit dated decor, but not that bad. Spacious balcony.
Staff: Friendly and professional.
Overall: Good value for money. Corfu is a nice island; we especially liked the old town in Corfu city. We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday and we enjoyed this hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view room is worth the extra cost.

In order to be truthful I will describe the hotel first. As others have said it is not a five star hotel as we would know it in England. However when it was opened and new it must have been beautiful. It has a slightly faded elegance but its location is stunning.

Rooms are dated and in need of refurbishment but the beds and pillows are very comfortable. Slightly dingy shower curtain but good size bathroom and plenty of hot water. Staff are all excellent and with the exception of one were friendly and efficient. Select a room with sea view not garden or lake view.

The pool area suffers from the usual 'towels on beds' brigade who must set their alarms for the middle of the night in order to get a prime location. Pool is salt water and large and lovely to swim in. No children's area - no shallow water so families beware. Courtesy pool and beach towels are provided. The main beds around the pool are good quality but the ones on the grass to the side are very much in need of disposal as most are broken. There is a lift to the beach (which is open to the public) and the sand is not too soft with lots of stones but the view across to Mouse Island and Parami is lovely. Beach bar lunches are good and not too expensive neither are the drinks throughout the hotel.

The breakfasts are buffet style and there is a lot of choice. Similarly the evening meals. If you want tables on the terrace with outstanding views get down to dinner around 7pm or come quite late when most have left.
Wine is served by glass or bottle which suits most people.

The cocktail bar has good views also and very nice seating. Excellent choice of cocktails. The location of the hotel is good as it is only a 1E10c short bus ride from the hotel gate to Corfu Town.

The local bus from across the causeway to Benitses is a nice morning out. We also went to Kassiopi via the bus from Corfu |town (3E50c single). Kassiopi is idyllic. An unspoilt village with a crescent shaped harbour, lots of restaurants and bars. The beaches are a short walk outside the village but looked nice and safe. The coastline on the road to the resort is stunning and reminded us in part of the coast road between Sorrento to Amalfi it is so beautiful.

We had an excellent evening meal in Corfu Town at Saporo and Vini which is No 2 on Trip Advisor and once again we found the rating a good indicator or quality of food and service. The location was very atmospheric as it was in the old part of the town.

To conclude the Hotel is excellent value for money and if they did decide to revamp it the costs would soar I'm sure.

Room Tip: Definitely pay extra for a sea view.

Disappointing stay. Room was not clean at all, rust in the bathroom, sheets dirty, breakfast average, the staff was boored and unpleasant at all times. Not even a good bye when leaving. Avoid by all means. Rooms really out dated and very old. Felt like a 60`s hotel. Noise from the airport that is very close absolutely driving you crazy. Heard every plane taking off and landing and i couldn`t sleep with the window open in the middle of August. Avoid by all means.

Room Tip: Avoid by all means rooms with view towards the laguna. Airport noise driving you crazy

Beautiful location - would return in a heartbeat. Peaceful, relaxing, good facilities, clean .... No complaints at all. Yes the hotel isn't as modern as it once was ... But it's still beautiful and clean and maintained so there was no issues for us! We had a room that overlooked the runway which we enjoyed watching. The planes overhead weren't an issue for us, them coming and going overhead added interest to those lazy days sunbathing !

When I arrived and first saw the view from my sea view room on the 7th floor I was amazed by how beautiful it is.

The room was large, a bit dated, but spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Because I went so late in the season there was no problem in getting a sunbed by the freezing cold swimming pool. After a couple of days I ventured down to the beach and found the sea water much warmer, calm and apart from being nipped a couple of times by small fish, it was wonderful. I swam on my back and looked at the beautiful blue sky.

Food is buffet and reminded me of a school canteen, the tables were far too close together. Much better if warm enough to eat outside. Food not brilliant as sometimes not hot enough but salads, bread and cheese great. Staff in restaurant not very friendly.

Other staff fine, in bar and by pool. This hotel is not 5 star but has 6 star views.

Read the reviews before going and have to say that are all completely accurate. Based on that got a really cheap deal on the hotel so overall enjoyed our stay in Corfu. But let me be very clear - this is in no way a 5 star hotel. Take away the private beach, pool and gym and its not even a great 3 star hotel. It is very run down and badly in need of renovation.

I found the staff friendly and helpful if you asked them something but they clearly lack direction/training from management. There seems to be no training or standards for the staff as everything is disorganised. The restaurant was chaos everytime we went there, especially at breakfast. Tables aren't cleared until you sit at them and you have to go and find cutlery and dishes yourself in the cupboards.

The room was fine but dated. The TV is a relic so forget about bringing a media player unless you can convert to SCART. Linen on beds have holes and don't seem to be changed everyday. Sea view balcony is a must. Wifi is completely hit and miss.

Pool area is nice but a lot of the loungers are broken. We felt sorry for the pool guy as he listened to complaints from people about this. Again standards are lacking - lounger mats are left out over night so are wet and covered in dust / dirt in the morning when you go out. The private beach is a nice spot as well. There seems to be no service around the pool either as you have to go and order drinks etc yourself up at the pool bar. They decided to clean the pool during the day on one of the hottest days so again not great service to the customer who expects a pool.

Remember this is billed as a 5 star hotel so has to be judged at that level and falls way below the mark. Only go here if you are getting a really cheap deal and accept the standard that it will be (as we did).

Room Tip: Sea view is a must
