Brilliant

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 Feb 2013
Stayed here last summer with my boyfriend and we were a bit wary of some of the bad reviews.
Turns out some people just need something to complain about!
Food was lovely (and I'm a fussy eater!), room was lovely, there's a quiet pool and a louder pool with games and music depending on what you want.
We stayed around the louder pool the entire holiday and had a great time.
Only complaint is that there are a hell of a lot of wasps! But that can't really be helped!
Theres a little shop just outside the hotel for bits and bobs, but not much else, so if you like to have a wander around you need to get a bus to the nearest town.
Staff are friendly and very helpful. They also amazed me at how many languages they could speak! The place its self are exaclty as the photos show it to be.

Would most definitly go back!

Quite large spacious rooms. In room refrigerator, hair dryer, kettle. Clean swimming pools. Stay pretty much os and it's everywhere. A large number of mosquitoes but it is the specificity of the island and not the fault of the hotel, better in something stock. In my opinion the only disadvantage of the hotel is poor room (towels and bed linen are changed on a regular basis but overall cleaning so). Mega sweet drinks, could not this drink unless diluted with water.
Hotel is located in the middle of nowhere next to a tavern and two shops. The food there is so much that you will not miss but if anyone wants to have something it must drive up to one of the two next village (6 and 8 km) taxi about 8-10 euro one way. Near 3 beaches, best is probably the left away. Shallow water so calm can be there to bathe the kids. Close to Albania, I recommend a trip, it's worth it.

Room tip: Large spacious, not destroyed furniture, air conditioned. In room safety deposit box, refrigerator, kettle, hair dryer

Beautiful hotel, though the resort is in the middle of no where!! There are shuttle buses to town, though nearest towns seemed like ghost towns.

Staff at hotel were great, very friendly and always happy to help.

Though when booking DO NOT pay more for a room with a double bed rather than two singles as the hotel said cannot be guaranteed as they have very few in the whole resort. I paid extra for the double bed and sea view and got neither.

Great thing to do whilst there would be the boat trip into town!! Great fun and lots of shopping.

Great for people who would like a very peaceful break away but as stated above in middle of no where.

Water park is 2 1/2 coach trip away!!!

MOST IMPORTANTLY LOTS OF MOSQUITOES! DUE TO LAKES NEARBY WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST SPRAY TO TAKE WITH YOU. The amount of mosquitoes disappointed us the most.

We (a family with 2 under 5's) went for 11 nights all inclusive in June 2012. My main complaints were the food, the insects, the lack of service and the lack of English entertainment.
I'll start with the food, it was inedible, we ended up spending over £800 eating, drinking and spending time elsewhere, we couldn't make the most of the all inclusive drinks because there was only one person serving and it took an age to get one drink. You couldn't sit out after dark and enjoy a drink by the pool due to the influx of mozzies and black beetles, the hotel did nothing to discourage them, they didn't supply citronella candles but certainly sold them in their shop. The beetles came in under our door at night so we would tread on them in the dark. they allowed birds to nest above all eating and outdoor seating areas.
The entertainment was all in German, this includes the kiddie club so we didn't use them.
We complained to the rep at the standard of the place but when we got home we found out she wasn't our rep so the company washed their hands of our complaint citing "what do you expect for £16 per person per day", well I expected edible food at the very least. I booked through Sunmaster who used Triton Rooms and would never use either again, mainly because of their after sales and customer service. It took 13 weeks to get a response from Triton Rooms even though they state 2.
I would recommend the island as Corfu was amazing but please avoid this hotel, you don't get your money's worth, even at £16 per day, you will be eaten alive by insects and you will end up massively out of pocket having to eat and drink elsewhere.

Me and my boyfriend (both 18 at the time) stayed here May 2012 for a week just as it was starting to heat up. The bus transfer felt like forever as we were almost the last stop. But once there we were very happy with the look and feel of the hotel.

The reception area is kitted out with sofas and is sparkling white & it also has a small computer room. Checking in was quick and simple.

We made our way up to the room, we were on the second floor right next to the 'quiet' pool which we were very happy with! The room itself was perfectly clean, we had good shower, hot water. We loved sitting out on our balcony playing cards and watching the sun go down. The only fault we had with our room was that one side of the bed had collapsed before we arrived and we didn't realise this until going to sleep very late. But we weren't too bothered as we were snuggled up most nights anyway.

We didn't venture far for our first couple days as we were still trying to just relax and settle in & find our surroundings. So we stayed at the 'quiet pool' - managed to get a decent sun lounger everyday. I found the pool a perfect cool temperature to cool yourself off after a long time sunbathing. My boyfriend found it extremely cold though. For most of the week it was quiet but nearing the end of the week a big group of northern women had started coming to the pool, making loads of noise, blasting music & constantly chain smoking. Now I'm not one to go and complain to management about that but there was a lot of old people trying to relax and you could tell they were not happy.

The small shop they have was good to get little things - we bought a pack of 6 2litre bottles of water for €2!! If you plan to go to different towns don't be tempted to buy the fake sunnies in that shop as you can get them half the price in town - but we forgot to pack our sunnies so we needed them.

Now the restaurant - we were all inclusive and its a buffet. I read a lot of reviews before I went of people saying it was just chips and boring things to eat but they are very wrong! They had different foods every night, perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Couldn't of asked for anything better. Now they do have an al a carté restaurant down by the family pool areas and we were looking to book in there but found when we checked it out the night before it wasn't very nice.
We wanted to go somewhere nice to eat as it was our 2 year anniversary. So we went down the path towards the sea and turned right to find some restaurants and bars. I can't remember the restaurants name but its the first one after the pub/bar. This place was absolutely amazing, the portions were huge for the decent price you paid and is tasted delicious, definitely the best meal we had all week & the fullest we had been all week (even though we were having buffet three times a day!!)

Now the one day we did properly venture out we rented a quad bike - very decent priced i think it was €35 for the day and you pay for your own petrol but it comes with a full tank. Now they come pick you up in the morning & drive you to the shop. They did have an English gentleman to help us pick the right one and tell us how to use it, he gave us a map and sent us on our way. We went to four different towns and did loads of shopping and went to different beaches and took lots of lovely pictures. It was a great day! Then all you do is leave the quad bike at the hotel parking.

We did check out the other pool but it was just full of family's with kids and way to loud, you just wouldn't be able to relax. And we checked out the closest beach - but it was a very windy day so we didn't stay long. We didn't go in the sea as I hate the sea and my boyfriend didn't fancy going in alone.

We spent most of our nights just chatting, playing pool and cards and trying out all the different drinks and cocktails. :) it rained once in the day and a couple nights whilst there but we weren't bothered

Overall it was a great holiday we paid a decent amount (around £800 altogether) and I could have easily stayed for another week or so i would recommend this to all my friends and family and would consider coming back after going to other countries.

Ps. Be kind and friendly to your neighbours. You never know when you might need to climb over their balcony to get into your room as you left the key in there!

As a value holiday there was a lot to be said for this resort. The views are stunning across the sea to Albania and the sea was warm and safe for swimming . There are two pool areas ;one is busy with family and children's entertainment and the other is quieter. There was a good choice of healthy and tasty food and the all inclusive deal meant that there were drinks available until 11 at night.
The rooms were clean but basic and the cool night air meant we slept well leaving us able to enjoy the warm sunny days.
Car hire was very reasonable and we enjoyed two days of exploring the north west side of the island as well as the coves and inlets of the east side. We also took an organised trip to Albania and Corfu town , both worth a visit.
The mosquitoes were a nuiscance and unfortunately there were too many flies around the food area.,but the staff were helpful and friendly.
For late arrivals there were only poor quality sandwiches
