Very pretty place especially with its colourful and well looked after gardens. The shower is exceptionally large and very comfortable though couldn't really say much about the too firm bed. Beautiful beaches especially Koukounaries with its glittering sand and others within walking/bus distance not to be missed - ideal location for some peace and quiet and able to have town's spirit at nights. Elia's serves very generous greek salad - whole slab of feta cheese!

We stayed at the Mandraki for 2 weeks from 26.8.2011. I had looked at the hotel for sometime on the internet and couldn't believe how beautiful it looked and we were not disappointed when we arrived, it even looked better than the photos on line.
We stayed in the pink block room 607, it was small but clean and our balaony was not over looked (some of them were very close together to the adjoining room.)
The food in the resturant was a very high standard, we eat at a few other places but decided we were better eating at the Hotel as, food we got else where was ok at best and sometimes just too salty. The hotel offer 10% discount for eating at the hotel so worked out really good value, for such lovely food.

Eve on Receiption is a absolute delight, always helpful and smiling, the boys running the bar were entertaining , happy and brilliant service. The resturant needed some more staff, but the head waiter, although rushed off his feet, always made time to have a chat and wish us a pleasant meal.

The breakfast was brilliant, we spent an hour eating all the lovely fruit and cooked breakfast.

We would recommend that you stay here if you are going to Skiathos, it is the best Hotel on the island , we walked every day to Mandraki beach, which took about half an hour through the forest, the walk was enjoyable and the beach was lovely and the beach bar, did lovely fruit and yogurt.

All in all a delightful Island, beautiful beaches, and a Fantastic Hotel with lovely staff!!!!

We stayed at Mandraki for a week at the beginning of Sepember 2011. The location of this hotel was perfect for us nearby to beautiful beaches and approximately a 25 minute bus journey into the town or a 15 minute taxt ride for around 15 euros. The swimming pool area and bar were fantastic with gorgeous gardens. The staff that we dealt with were mainly very friendly and helpful and the service was great. For the breakfast there was a vast selection, I would advise to get down earlier as sometimes when we got down later it wasn't as fresh. Elia's restaurant was fantastic, we dined in there twice and it was beautiful- the waiter in there was particularly helpful and knowledgeable advising us which wine would go best. Both meals were really high standards - could not fault it. The half price cocktails were also a winner for myself. The room that we had- I believe it was a standard double was possibly a little on the smaller side but was perfectly fine. We also ate at the Windmill restaurant during our stay and we were lucky enough to sit on the honeymoon table- it was an amazing meal with the most fantastic views. The food was beautiful, we both had fillet steak and I would definately recommend going there if you are visiting Skiathos.!! A brilliant hotel, that we both thoroughly enjoyed!

My husband and I have just been to the Mandraki Village Boutique Hotel, bed and breakfast and had an absolutely wonderful week. We have NOTHING bad to say about the hotel. The room was fabulous, the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, it was in a brilliant location, the pool was perfect, what more can we say. The room was cleaned to a high standard every day, clean white fluffy towels left every day. The breakfasts were sooooo good, everything you could think of and we sat outside in shade to eat every morning. We will definitely HAVE to return!!!!! AND Skiathos is a wonderful island, the beaches are fabulous, hire a car/jeep and travel to them all!!!! WISH WE WERE STILL THERE.

Have just returned from the mandraki and found it to be the best accomodation we have ever stayed in while in Greece, rooms are lovley very clean and great bathrooms.Have stayed in Skiathos many times but by far the best accomodation we have ever found on the island.Staff are friendly and happy to help with anything you require and bar and pool area are great. The restaurant really must be tried as probably the best food on Skiathos, and not expensive either so people should try it as highly recommended.

We didn't stay in the Mandraki hotel, but ate in the Elia's Restaurant. It isn't somewhere that we would usually try just because of the boutique style, we usually go for the mroe traditional Greek tavernas. We tried this as it had excellent reviews on trip advisor and we weren't disappointed. I have no idea what the people in the last reveiw are talking about, as I'm certain it was the same guy that served us, would have served them as their stay was only a week before ours. He was very confident, and witty, but polite at all times, and very courteous (did a little kind of bow as we left, and thanked us for eating with them). The food was beautifully presented and tasted great! My partner and I have a rule that we don't eat in the same place twice on holiday, as we like to try loads of different places, however we made an exception with this place and returned the night after. They were very pleased to see us. ;-)

I thought it was time for me to post my review, especially after the one that I have just read which was less than favourable.
We stayed at the Mandraki in June and had a wonderful time. We arrange the hotel to transport us to and from the airport and on comparison with taxi prices, it was much cheaper to do it this way so we were happy. The hotel was lovely, we had a great room on the ground floor in the pink building and it was really spacious with a terrace outside. The one downside would be that the balcony walls to next door are very low so there was little privacy. The pool was brilliant, much larger than we expected and we loved the cocktail menu - there is a happy hour or two each night so make sure you take advantage! The sunbeds are comfy and the atmosphere around the pool was relaxed and informal. We went on the greek BBQ night which was traditional food and greek dancing, it was huge fun and if you get chance definately do it. The beaches, Koukounaries is a very busy beach with boats stopping by to drop more people off. However, if you walk right to the end of it - or get off at the alst bus stop then that end is less busy. We walked to Mandraki, Elias & Banane Beaches. Mandraki is wonderful, the walk is easy by my reckoning but the ground is uneven and slightly uphill on the way so those less fit may find it harder. At Mandraki beach check out the beach bar - it doesnt look much but the chips with oregano are amazing and the greek salad is brill.

Breakfast at the hotel was great, buffet style, plenty of choice and I was full all day from feasting first thing!

You can catch the bus into Skiahos town from just down the road from the hotel, having sadi that if you wave furiously enough then it will stop anywhere! Its 2 euro into Skiathos and the buses run late into the night, much cheaper than a taxi and more fun! The roads in Skiathos dont seem to be as scary as the normal greek island experience either! Tip - don't eat at the Windmill on a windy night or half the floor will be in your meal and your face! We ate at Selini on the last night - it was amazing!

Anyway, to sum it up, Skiahos is beautiful, and the hotel Mandraki is fantastic, the staff, gardens and surroundings are super. Ignore the last review, it is pure fiction!
