Anybody looking for a quiet hotel within a 1 minute walk from a fantastic 3km sand beach will enjoy this fairly small hotel. The location is exceptional, short trips are taking you to the Heritage of Vallee de Mai and the wonderful, although recently shark-attacked Anse Lazio. We found the rooms being well equipped and exceptionally cleaned; our two bed-room apartment had a gorgeous terrace over-looking the pool. Two different dinner formats are offered on alternate days – the buffet and the seated menu. I would highlight the seated menu as a differentiator; both experiences were of exceptional taste.

Facing a late afternoon departure the hotel provided shower and changing room facilities, hence, one does not have worry but will take the ferry back to Victoria clean and relaxed.

Talking about the "digestible minus": Robert Payet, the Director of the Hotel, is as client service oriented as one can be – very accessible and caring. Still, some of his team members have a few meters to go. Being enrolled on a "early morning trip" at 8 a.m we showed up for breakfast some 5 minutes early (7.25 a.m, instead of the official 7.30 and were not really greeted enthusiastically by the staff). Staying as a full paying family of 4 we did ask for the charge-free internet vouchers and got told that these are per apartment (for one hour a day), not per guest. Both incidents shouldn't worry, they rather need to be seen in the specific light of the Seychelles – less customer orientation than on the Maldives, still a wonderful place when it comes to spending vacation time and looking for leisure.

The Duc de Praslin clearly adds to the very positive experiences we had and we do positively recommend this "hidden jewel" for folks looking for Seychelles experiences beyond the main island

Really nice little hotel with friendly staff. Big and nice room (we had one room on the 1st floor facing the pool), wonderful pool, good food and great location.
I highly recommend this hotel, really nice garden and flowers as well. But PLEASE build a bigger and better enclosure for turtles. The Café des Arts restaurant is excellent and the view is amazing. We had Valentine's Day there, was magic. Thank you.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 1st floor with high ceiling and view on the pool.

12 days, 11 nights, family with 3 children: Family room is really perfect, a lot of place, 2 bathrooms, good standard. Have been many places, but this is a place we remember. Personal, food, gardens, pool, beach: friendly, excellent buffet, lovely beautiful flowers and trees, one of the best pools I have ever tried and the beach is really good for familys with small children.

Room Tip: Family room

We really enjoyed the 10 days we stayed here! The beautiful room, the nice garden, perfect food and very friendly staff makes you feel like home within a few minutes! The location is perfect for trips around the island. You really get the local feeling here. Not locket up in a big resort but staying in between the real life of this beautiful island!

really a place to go back to!!

Choice of the hotel is key point of succeeded holidays! If you are tired from overcrowded and noisy cities, Le Duc is your choice. We have spent excellent days there. The hotel is petit but very agreeable and green. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, every detail is well thought over. Breakfasts are nice, dinners are fantastic. We advise choosing HB and every evening you get something special- the cook is excellent. Generally, there is home feeling about the hotel. Service is almost European level, which is not so common to Seychelles islands. The beach is a few steps away; it is shallow-water though. We recommend Anse Lazio that is just 10 mins away by taxi.

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice, ground floor ones are open right into the hotel territory though
