I think it's a nice hotel for the money. It does have a great location - just a minute away from the ocean! Hotel seems newly renovated & very clean. There is a new decent-sized pool, which we enjoyed a lot. The restaurant offers multi-course dinners every night.

We stayed at Le Duc for 6 nights the first week of October as the second part of our holiday, and found the hotel to be everything that we were looking for. The hotel is one of the smaller ones on the island but is therefore able to offer a more personal service. It is in a great location with lovely grounds, great service and a good selection of food, only a short walk to the beach. The hotel also owns a resturant across the road called Cafe des Arts which is worth visiting as this offers a more intimate dining experience on the edge of the beach, and is regarded by the locals as the best resturant on the island. The hotel manager and staff are all from the Seychelles and are very proud of the hotel and this comes across very strongly in that you can see that they care about the service that they offer with the manager taking the time to speak to all the guests on a daily basis.I would disregard the comments made on trip adviser on the 5th August as this was obviously made by someone with a hidden agenda and definately not founded. We would definately recommend this hotel to all our friends and familly.

Room Tip: Ground floor deluxe rooms

We went to three different islands, therefore also different hotels which were all great(!) Le Duc however was the most personal, friendly, quiet, relaxed of them all.
Very nice rooms, clean and very spacey. The gardens surrounding you are well kept , tidy and full. Birds everywhere. I think they redecorated (?) as all interiour and outside furniture was looking new, as were all paint-jobs.
The staff is 99% local, unlike the other big resorts/hotels which tend to have more and more "mixed" staff, with a lot of expats. The vibe is just simply different with a mixed staff; competition like i would explain it. At Le Duc de Praslin no such thing; all very friendly, relaxed and very much up to the job. The only "expat" at Le Duc is Robert, no offence Robert, who has grown up here i believe. He's the owner and director. As were his parents so i'm told. You will most probably meet him as he tries to meet all of his guests at dinner, he will come for a chat at your table. Again very friendly , i think a nice personal touch.

The food was very nice, my wife normally does'nt eat fish but the food served here made us both hungry for it. The food caressed the tongue. Also, their Cafe d'es Arts (a la carte restaurant) was especially nice. When paying for Half board you get a nice discount. It's a famous restaurant on Praslin Island. Supposably many people visit this place who do'nt stay at Le Duc de Praslin; they come from all over the island.

The very nearby beach is one of the nicest on Praslin, very idyllic beach , quiet , clean, beautifull with coral sand which seems as fine as coffee-powdercream. Actually this beach counts as my favorite of all islands, after seeing pretty much all of them.

When i come to the Seychelles, i will definitely come back here. I will stay longer than the 5 days i did now, but hey; it was my first time so i'm still learning !!! ;-) bye bye!

We stayed 3 nights at the Le Duc. It was a nice stay, the beach is about 1 minute walk, they have chairs on the beach for the hotel guest however the beach was not a pristine as the ones at the Hilton on Mahe or Silhouette Island. The staff is friendly and helpful, the gardens lovely, meals are ok, nice pool and they offer an hour free internet a day which is a plus. It was not as luxurious as the other hotels we stayed in yet is not as costly either. This is a clean, comfortable, nice hotel with a wonderful staff.

We stayed at Le Duc during the second week of September, as part of our honeymoon trip at the Seychelles. We were amazed by the extraordinary hotel, garden and rooms. Truly a pice of paradise on earth! Also the staff, specially the director, really went the extra mile. We will come back in the future for sure!
