“Fabulous Place!”
Reviewed 22 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We have recently returned from a 2 week stay at La Corfiota and can honestly it was wonderful.

Situated at the end of a little lane in beautifully kept gardens, just off the front it is close enough to all that’s going on but far enough away to be secluded, private and quiet. We stayed in a one bedroom garden apartment, which admittedly didn’t have a sea view unless you peered through the hedge but it didn’t really make any difference to our stay, we could hear the sea and the beach is less than 2 minutes away. The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Kostas, the owner / manager is always on hand if there should be anything you require and his little dog Milou is a delight.
Agios Gordios is a lovely little village set at the bottom of a valley so bear this in mind when planning a walk – it’s a steep climb out. We did a few long hikes around and about and some of the inclines were challenging. The town itself has many superb restaurants, supermarkets and bars – try the cocktails at Madison Garden!
The beach is long and sandy with many sunbeds available. Most of the seafront restaurants provide sunbeds for their guests as long as you buy something but we would recommend taking a walk down the board walk to the end and use the beds provided by Seb & Joyce – 4 euros each (3 after 3pm), nicely spaced out so you are not reading your neighbours book and inflatables to borrow.
We have been to Greece many times and had wonderful holidays over the years but have always come home feeling the resort we stayed in wasn’t right for us – not quite what we are looking for, there was always something missing. At La Corfiota in Agios Gordios we think we may have found it and can’t wait to go back!

“Wonderful apartment for relaxing holiday”
Reviewed 19 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Booked this apartment as hubby and I wanted a quiet week away and we were not disappointed. Despite being at the end of the high street of Agios Gordios the complex is neatly tucked away from the road and is very quiet. As a garden flat we had no view of the sea but who cares, all you had to do was step out of the complex and there is was! The gardens were very well maintained and for those not wanting to sit in the sun there were plenty of places in the garden where you could find some shade.
The apartments were suitably equipped and very clean. Although there is no air conditioning we did not miss it during our stay as the rooms, particularly the bedroom, stay remarkably cool. Our apartment was supplied with a large stand alone fan which could be moved to the sitting or bedroom if required. Towels were changed midway during the week and it was fantastic to have beds with soft pillows (a first in Greece!). Our apartment had plenty of storage space for 2 people.
The beach at Agios Gordios is clean and the water shelves nicely so easy to get into (although there is a line of fine stones at the break line). The beach strip is lined with a plethora of tavernas, most of which will allow you to use their sunbeds and umbrellas free of charge if you buy something from them. This also allows you to use their toilet facilities.
The owner, Kostas, lives on site and was attentive whilst respecting your privacy. Like other reviewers we were enchanted by Milou, his one year old dog, who stands guard over the property. He will bark at you at first, but once he gets to know you will greet you with a wag of his tail.

“Peaceful garden retreat metres from the beautiful sandy beach”
Reviewed 17 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

First impressions....welcoming, clean and secluded. Tucked away from the road, this apartment is set in an enclosed garden, well kept and full of flowers. The sandy beach is literally 3 minutes walk, ideal for families to return when the sun gets too hot. The garden provides a safe, shady playing area and a peaceful place to read that book! There is a shower to rinse off the salty sea water and an area for storing inflatables and body boards. The apartment is well-equipped and spotlessly clean with white fluffy towels waiting in the tiled bathroom, flowers on the patio table, ceiling fan in the cosy bedroom and plenty of storage for clothes and luggage. Kostas, the manager, is on site and is extremely helpful and friendly without being intrusive, willing to assist where possible & to offer advice on where to eat, best walks, local attractions and bus times etc and for great conversations. His little dog, Milou, is so lovable and added to the garden's appeal, my granddaughters enjoyed making a fuss of him.....as did I! Missing him still! The whole place lived up to it's description and more.....couldn't have wanted a better holiday. The village is small and surrounded by hills, but has everything you would need. Plenty of small shops, restaurants and tavernas, spoilt for choice! The beach is sandy and shallow, with some rocks for great snorkelling to see the myriad of little fishes swimming about. I would recommend Sebastian's for a smart night out and the Romantic Palace on the beach, to watch the sun set whilst eating your delicious home-cooked meal or sampling their Greek night....so much fun! Would recommend this for families and people wanting a relaxed and more sedate holiday. No loud music, no crowds of noisy revellers, no wild nightclubs......instead, peace, birdsong and the sound of the sea (and the local cockerell!) Perfect!!
