This was our first trip to Corfu and we weren't disappointed either by the island or the hotel - both were stunning. We arrived late at night but we still received a great welcome, together with drinks and a snack as the restaurant was closed.
The management staff at this hotel are excellent - nothing is too much trouble for them. We needed to change our room on the first day and this was dealt with very efficiently and without any fuss with the help of the ever-smiling porter.
The modern rooms are excellent, having been recently re-fitted. All the fixtures and fttings are as new and the rooms are very well appointed and very comfortable - air conditioning, tea & coffee making facilities, a well-fitted bathroom and a fridge are all included. The rooms were serviced every day so, like the rest of the hotel, were kept immaculately clean throughout our stay (Tip: the room maids do not re-fill the tea, coffee or milk in the rooms however you can pick these up from the drinks area of the restaurant every morning to take back to your room).
The views from the veranda of the main lounge, the restaurant windows and the room balcony were stunning - we had perfect weather so the sunsets were perfect !!
We travelled independently and booked on the all-inclusive basis. The food was excellent with plenty of choice and fresh options each day and the chef was always available at dinner with a couple of specials. The drinks were generous - the beer, gin & tonics and wine with dinner (both white and red) were very good indeed. The restaurant and bar staff were very efficient, very friendly and always eager to please which always made dining and relaxing in the bars very enjoyable.
The hotel is set on a hill-side so we were always going either up or down. Not a place therefore for those with mobility problems but the location and geography of the area make for a fantastic panorama. It is only a short stroll along the beach boardwalk to the village of Agios Gordios and this makes for a lovely morning or evening walk. In previous years the sunbeds and parsols on the hotel beach had to be hired each day but these are now free. There was never a shortage of sunbeds while we were there (12 days in May) and the vast majority respected the request not to reserve sunbeds with towels.
Agios Gordios is a quiet resort so is not geared for those who are seeking nightlife. This was ideal for us as we wanted a quiet location for relaxation. The fact that the hotel is adults-only was also an attractive feature.
The island is worth exploring and the hotel is an ideal base for exploration being centrally located on the west coast. We hired a car from Top Cars (www.topcars.gr) who gave great service at a very good rate.
We can thoroughly recommend this hotel and wished we had booked for longer - we will definitely be going back - Aquis have got it right - it's a gem !!

We stayed here from 11th to 18th May never having been to Corfu before. The hotel is in a wonderful setting overlooking the sea and every room has a sea view. We were in room 2311 at the end of the corridor and the view was second to none, including those famous sunsets! The room was clean and well furnished....apart from the bed which was so hard it was painful to sleep on! Unbelievably uncomfortable for a hotel of this calibre. Rooms were cleaned every day by very friendly staff. The beach and all sun terraces were well equipped with sun beds,a bar on each level and the lovely view. These were the real selling points of the hotel. The little town,a short walk down the beach, was a delight and everyone was so friendly. On the minus side, the food was never very hot and I am not a fussy person but the food was mostly the same sort of thing day after day. At breakfast 2 days in a row I had tea with luke warm water. The restaraunt was so busy that the staff couldn`t keep up with the workload. I did feel sorry for them because they were all so pleasant and friendly but were obviously run off their feet. I can`t imagine what it will be like in the busier months of July and August! We hired a car for 3 days which as just as well because unfortunately 4 of our 7 days were bad weather. The island is beautiful and I would recommend the local car hire in the village,Rolandas. Very helpful, reliable car and good price. 87 Euros for 3 days. One tip, take your own tea, coffee etc or be prepared to walk into town for some! Although hotel info says tea and coffee making facilities, what it provides is tea and coffee for one cup and then you are left with just the kettle and cups! Not good if you are tired and gasping for a cuppa! All in all,the views are unbeatable, hotel exeptionally clean and staff friendly. The food was ok but nothing special for Platinum and cold food was unacceptable and regular. One more moan......every evening between about 8 and 10p.m the water went cold! Everyone must have been showering at the same time! It did heat up again but found it quite unusual for a large hotel to have this problem. We woild go back again for the plus points I mentioned and it was SO beautiful! But the dining arrangements and food really need to be improved on for Platinum status.

Room Tip: All rooms have good views. Rooms lower down near pool and sun terrace were not very private. Our roo...

lovely relaxing holiday.
hotel lovely, setting and sunsets fantastic. only negatives ..could do with some snacks in beach bar and to keep your wristbands for all inc until you actually leave would be nice as you do actually pay for it prior your arrival time....enjoyed walk into little village for coffee in the mornings.weather was fantastic and other guests in hotel really friendly...would love to return and spend some lazy days in the beach bar again .......

Room Tip: as long as its not above the kitchen as noise starts at 05.55am.

Dear Walesshaza,
We would like to thank you for your review. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed and met your expectation at all quality levels. We always appreciate and welcome all well-mannered comments and we evaluate them accordingly.

Of course we have well noted your comment over our beach bar and we will certainly discuss all this issues with our food and beverage management team. Certainly it would be a good idea to serve snacks at our beach bar as well, however we want to distinguish our facilities into snack bars and cocktail bars in order to satisfy our guests preferences and to provide quality service at all levels. We certainly value your opinion and will evaluate all possible options for the ongoing season.

Once again we would like to thank you for your review and we certainly looking forward to welcome you once again in one of our resorts in Crete, Kos and Corfu.

The hotel is on a steep hill overlooking the sea so great views. Rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean with free air conditioning, the safe is 21 euro,s for week. All the staff we encounted were friendly and efficient. The food while nice got repetitive. Most dishes contain or are garnished with peppers. The staff who serve dinner are cheerful and chatty. The chef is there most nights so don.t be affraid to approach him if you suffer from any food allergies.
The beach is clean with FREE sunbeds. Sea could be rough some days so watch your bikini bottoms lol. The walk to town along the beach only takes 5mins and is well worth a visit to call in all the pubs on the way. We eat out at two of them and the food was delishes, sat with a bottle of wine watching the sun set was fantastic. We would definately return.

We returned yesterday from a week at this hotel. Our ages: 44, 40, 23 and 22.

The hotel visitors at the beginning certainly a lot older than ourselves, thus the entertainment was very suitable for them, piano night etc. Then as we went further into the week, more groups of our age arrived and the entertainment adjusted accordingly. Towards the end of the week we had karaoke and a disco which were great fun all of which I would pay the two entertainment staff the highest compliments for their efforts and arranging of these. For anyone going Ettore the Italian and Micky from Hungary are the two funniest and entertaining guys we have ever met.

We took part in the water aerobics taken by Ettore which was not only nice to do, but absolutely hilarious fun!

When we left the two guys set their alarm especially to get up and see us off, they are sincerely really nice people.

The beach is a very short walk and no problems whatsoever at getting a sunbed and whilst we were there the hotel was at full occupancy. The pool did have people putting the towels around, but not once did we not manage to get a bed, there are lots. Soft music is played, its really peaceful and relaxing.

The pool bar is lovely, it opens at 10am, I think 9am would be better if you want to sit and have a coffee.

The restaurant was very clean. The food was varied, more a 4* but nice. I would suggest they could improve by keeping the dishes a little hotter.

Staff throughout the hotel pleasant, from reception, bar staff and cleaners, all nice.

The hotel is in a very hilly location, but that is clear when you book from description and photos.

All in all, a really lovely holiday and I would definately go back.

This was our first trip to Corfu since our honeymoon in 1980 but we have made numerous trips to other Greek islands and the mainland, and we were not disappointed.
The weather was fantastic, apparently unusual for early May according to a local, we had sun and a slight breeze every day and temperatures around 26 degrees- compared to zero in the UK!
We stayed here with Thompsons "premier" package, half board and were glad that we had not taken full board because we didn't need lunch after a full breakfast and dinner, and if you were down on the beach, it was a steep return hike to eat in the hotel. Food was not served in the beach bar and there because it was early in the season, none of the local bars were open and serving lunches.
Alcohol was expensive in the hotel but we purchased wine etc in the village supermarket at a very reasonable price, there was a fridge in the room, so we could enjoy a cool beer on our balcony overlooking the sea. All rooms have a sea view, our room was on the 7th floor with an "interesting" so called 4 man lift which was a snug fit for the two of us and only possible solo when you had luggage with you!
We enjoyed the food but were disappointed that the fish was poor quality, a little surprising when you are staying on an island!
The hotel is billed as five stars but in reality is nearer three and a half, very clean and with plenty of staff, except in the bar in the evening when people on full board are attempting to get their free drinks!
The venue is stunning and worth staying at this hotel for the sunsets alone.

We travelled to this hotel from 5th May-12th May and were not disappointed. A very modern, newly refurbished hotel offering a high standard at a very competitive price. The location was breathtaking overlooking the sea and the sunsets were stunning. The weather was amazing, allowing us to sit out until late. The rooms were cleaned daily to a high standard. A totally relaxing hotel, if that's what you chose as the Animation team consisting of Hector, Mickey Mouse and Debbie weren't too pushy in trying to involve you in activities, however, they are lovely people and we did actually get involved and had lots of fun. As per the other reviews, the food was excellent and varied. A tip for the guys; ensure you have long trousers for dinner! My other half was told during dinner that only long trousers were allowed! Luckily he had a couple of pairs of jeans and wore these at each evening meal time, otherwise, I guess it could have been a tad ackward. I think the hotel should publicise this requirement on their web site. Other guys wearing shorts/three quarters were also approached by waitresses. We met some lovely people at this hotel which helped make it an extra special holiday and we would definitely return.
