We stayed early July on a all inclusive package. We had overall a really lovely holiday and am surprised at some other comments,we agree not the place to stay if you you are not so mobile but our room was very clean with a beautiful view .The food we felt was good with plenty of choice and had a really good meal in the Olive tree resturant. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only negatives were there weren't always enough parasols around the pool area and if you needed to use the courtesy shower room, could be better,we had to hunt for towels and lack of mirrors, hairdryer etc. We would definitely reccomend this hotel and location.

My wife and I have just returned from a week at this hotel. It was a fairly last minute booking as we were desperate for a week of quiet relaxation. We were very pleased with our choice. The hotel is in a magnificent position on the hillside above the beach. We alternated between a day by the beach and a day by the pool.

The beach is situated down a flight of 60 or so steps, which could be a problem if you have mobility problems. The hotel has umbrellas and sun beds on the beach although a fairly early start is required as numbers are limited. During the week the condition of the beach changed daily. Sometimes sea weed, sometimes not. A few jelly fish were there on one occasion but this did not stop people enjoying the beautifully clear water.

The pool area was very nice. Cleaners were out very early hosing the tiled surface and removing litter etc. and arranging the beds, tables and umbrellas. Although residents were requested not to place towels early to reserve there place they did - and most times they were British! The staff were extremely patient and tolerant having to clean around the bends that had been reserved with towels!

We had half board and for us it suited us fine as we were happy with a snack from either the pool bar at lunchtime or the beach bar. The price of drinks was very reasonable e.g. Large lager and a fresh orange juice 3.40 euros. Our room had a beautiful view, was cleaned daily, bed made and fresh towels.

Athough the choice in the dining room is varied we were happy to only have booked a week and been on half board. Clearly all inclusive for many people means filling you plate with as much as you can as often as possible. It had been some years since we have had a holiday like this and when eating in a large communal self service restaurant you have to accept that it comes with some disadvantages. The staff were excellent and we cannot speak too highly of them.

There were a good range of ages and nationalities staying at the hotel. Being an adults only hotel suited us fine.

We were never particularly bothered about evening entertainment although there was something happening in the main bar every evening. Clearly this attracted the older guests. The younger guests preferred the roof or pool bar in the evenings.

Overall the decor, furnishings and cleanliness were excellent. Clearly there has been a lot of work done by the hotel to improve these areas. Some painting and repairs were needed to the balustrades on the sea side of the pool area, where they were beginning to crack.

Tom our Thomson rep was excellent, helpful and thorough as were the staff on reception.

Would we go back there? Yes, Half board and possibly earlier or later in the season.

Room Tip: Go for a room with sea view away from the pool area.

We stayed in this hotel at the end of June to the beginning of July. It looked quite attractive and promising to begin with but when we saw the amount of stairs involved to get anywhere it was quite a shock and pretty hazardous. One of the lifts was very tiny and the doors practically shut your arm in it as the doors closed so quickly. Our friend with us had a nasty fall down the partially lit staircase at the beginning of the week and was badly bruised. Two other guests had plaster casts and reception even provided crutches and a stick which seemed a bit strange, they obviously have many accidents at the hotel. Reception staff were very helpful as was the waiting staff etc. and our room was kept very clean.

We just would not advise anyone to go there if they have dodgy knees or any other
mobility problems.

Room Tip: Go by recommendation and not the brochure and this misled us.

Thank you for staying with us in Aquis Agios Gordios Beach. We are happy to read that our staff looked after you, and we appreciate your comments for our cleanliness. We are sincerely regretful for your friend’s unfortunate accident and we hope that he has now fully recovered.

The hotel is set on a hill, offering fantastic sea and sunset views however this indeed involves many different levels and steps. We are surprised to read that you had done a research on the hotel and you haven’t noticed this note. It is well documented and posted since our aim is to offer memorable holiday experience to our guests and certainly not to limit any person in any way. On the positive note, there are still numerous repeating guests which now experience some mobility issues; however this does not prevent them from visiting us again and again. Aquis Agios Gordios is an adult’s only property thus we do not have many accidents but we have high standards of health and safety action aid thus our immediate response to any unfortunate events.

We would like to thank you again very much for taking the time to place your comments regarding your recent stay with us. We hope that we will soon have the opportunity to welcome you back again at any Aquis Hotels and Resorts property, we certainly offer many different choices for all.

We stayed in this hotel just a few days ago. Early July 2013.
We found it quite tatty and in need of some TLC a bit like the rest of Greece I suppose.
The hotel is situated on a very steep hill, what ever you do requires climbing up or down. The lifts are tiny and for some rooms you have to use several.
Our room was really quite nice, it was kept clean and tidy, although on some days it was hunt the towels as they seem to be left in a different place each day. There was a lack of storage space for clothes, not enough for a week let alone two.

The hotel was quite tired, broken tiles on the floor, plaster hanging off the walls in one corridor along with a large damp patch. I have pictures of these. We were unhappy that the fire exit doors were left open almost all of the time. This meant that any one could walk in off the street and enter the bedroom areas.

The food wasnt too bad, not up to the standard I would have expected though. The dining room floor along the window side was disgusting, there was food which had been dropped on the floor that was in the same place all the time we were there, signs of liquid spillage looked as though it had been there for weeks. Just unclean.

One of the pool bars had one of those multi drink dispensors with half a dozen or so nozzles, the nozzles were covered all the time in wasps. Awful.

However the staff at the pool bar were excellent, the mid day food was great value for money.

Many of the staff were very polite, pleasant and helpful but many of them just the opposite. Reception in particular was so unhelpful, we were left to get our own bags to and from the room, which involved many of those stairs, even to get to the shoe box of a lift. They were unhelpful as to where our room was, the place is a warren. So it took some time and some wrong turns before we found it. The courtesy room was just the showers for the fitness suite. Even though we asked several times no towels were provided.

There's little to do in the area and we certainly wouldnt ever go back.

Room Tip: Overlooking the sea if you have to go.

We truly appreciate when guests share their experience, whether good or bad, with us. At Aquis Hotels and Resorts we need to continuously work on the improvement of our service and of course our value for money offering. Thank you for your review and the positive comments that you made for your room, our cleanliness and in part for our staff. It is encouraging for us to know that despite the fact that the lowest rating available has been offered, you enjoyed some parts of your holiday with us.

This hotel is among the first build in the area and we have done a considerable effort to entirely rejuvenate it by entirely renovate it recently and we will continue to do so, taking under consideration all guests comments as repair and maintenance are a top priority. Regarding the cleaning issues mentioned, I will certainly check the log of our guest’s relations department, cleanliness of public areas is among the highest scores we receive and it is a very important area for us too.

I am not certain whether those concerns have been brought up to the attention of our guest relations manager, since most of the inconveniences you experienced would have been solved on the spot.

Please be reassured that all your feedback will be shared with our team as we purely see it as an opportunity to will help us improve. Feedback for us means a lot and we mostly welcome it always

This is our last night at this hotel. We have had a very enjoyable 10 day stay
The hotel is very clean and the staff efficient and friendly. We had an all inclusive package which suited us.I have read some poor comments regarding food, bedding etc,We found that we cannot agree with these comments,I would have no problem in recommending this hotel, but I would agree that you would need to be reasonably fit ,as there are many steps.

We stayed here on the 1st July for one week. Hotel is lovely, food very good, the only down side was we stayed in a bungalow which was situated in the hotel grounds, to get there you have to walk up two large hills which in 37 degrees was pretty exhausting! this didn't spoil our holiday we will visit this hotel again, but probably stay in one of the hotel rooms. We were all inclusive, but this doesn't include the Tunnel bar in the evening unless there is entertainment down there, we didn't realise this until we were told as there where no signs advising this. Overall would recommend this hotel, but would advise hiring a car to see all the island as its very beautiful.
