We originally booked this hotel as it was a Thomson Platinum and then a few weeks later we got a call to say that Thomson had downgraded it. We agreed to go ahead - perhaps should have thought better. It was better than a 3* but in our opinion not quite a 4*. The room (3109) was spacious and clean - the housekeepers came every day and made the beds and cleaned the bathroom but the bedroom floor could have done with a sweep. The facilities in the room were fine although the bathroom was brown tiled and extremely dark and dismal. The shower was OK for me to stand under at 5'5#" but too low for my husband. This room is next to the hotel spa and gym facilities but right underneath the terrace for the restaurant which meant we were wakened every morning at 7.00am by the tea cups being place on the glass tables - did mean we were down in time to claim decent sunbeds though!!! Talking about the sun beds there are plenty of them and lots on the beach too. However there is a shortage of sunshades and even in June this caused some unpleasantness from one particular (English I'm ashamed to say) gentleman who insisted on taking any and all shades so that he and his wife and daughter had a parasol each - not the done thing eh!! The sun does not hit the terrace until mid morning however the rooftop bar does get the sun from early morning. The beach too gets the sun from 10.00ish. So far so OK. In our opinion what let this hotel down was the food - we just did not like it although plenty of guests were raving about it so this was just us. We came to this hotel from a week on a Thomson cruise liner so had been thoroughly spoiled and not just the food came in for criticism from us the entertainment was lacking too. The evening entertainment comprised of about an hour each evening (two nights there was bingo as well) of some type of dancer/singer/etc. The tenors on the Sunday evening are worth staying in for and we quite enjoyed the Greek dancing, however the Latin dancers were dismal. Going along the beach for the evening is lovely and the bars and restaurants are entirely local and excellent value for money - recommended even if you are all-inclusive. All in all a good stop over for some serious tanning but a bit out of the way.
