“Fantastic, relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 June 2011

We have just arrived back from a very relaxing week at Sebatians. The welcome from Sebastian Theresa and mum Vanessa as well as all the staff was second to none. The food accommodation and setting was as good as we had read in the reviews.Sebastian and Theresa cater for all types young and old alike. We also found some lovely restuarants on the beach notably Thallassa. Corfu town is well worth a visit as well.

We have just returned from a week at Sebastians and very enjoyable it was. We had one of the recently refurbished rooms, it was light, modern, adequately furnished and immaculate, as was the bathroom which had the best shower I have ever used on any of the islands.

Food was generally of a very good standard, it is very good, home cooked, traditional Greek food. We were half board so enjoyed breakfast everyday and a 3 course meal at night, favourites were the spinach pie, burekakia, pastisata and sofrito.

Sebastian is an extremely attentive host who goes the extra mile with all his guests, Teresa has her hands full with a wee boy and lots of website work but it was nice to meet her too. Anna does a good breakfast and prepares the meat marinades, she always has a smile for you. Maria works the tables in the evenings, again a ready smile, nothing too much trouble, oh yes and a great wiggle! And of course the matriarch, Vanessa - get well soon, plenty of rest for you please.

Ag Gordios is very quiet, a few supermarkets and tavernas and no night life to speak off, it is also very mountainous, unless you are an avid climber or have transport (or the bus) you are a bit stuck. There are 3 buses a day into Corfu, return ticket is euro 4.40 each, you can get tickets from GeeBees supermarket at the bus stop. Taxi from the airport is now euro 35 one way! Petrol is very expensive now and has had an effect on all prices especially food and drink, euro 6 for 2 cups of tea at the green bus station!

The beach is good at Ag Gordios, the weed was coming in when we were there though not too much, and a little rubbish around, but generally the beach is not too bad, if you are prepared to walk a little, head north up the beach, past the white building that sticks out and you will find some nice little private sunbathing areas.

As I said it is very quiet, we wanted a total chill out week and in Sebastians, we picked the perfect place to do it.

A very enjoyable and relaxing week, thank you to all at Sebastians

From the moment we arrived we were treated like family.

Having arrived, from Athens on the overnight ferry (deck class) we were feeling rather shabby & needing a shower. It was about 8am. Teresa greeted us & promply showed us to a freshly renovated room. "You are the first to use this room, since we renovated" she explains "if something doesn't work, just let us know". "please use the (new) split airconditioning unit. Does it work OK??" perfect.

We had one of the ground floor, suites. A fair bit larger than the upstairs rooms and complete with hot plate and oven/grill, which we made use of. Compact bathroom, with plenty of hot water. All of the rooms have a larger than normal bar fridge.

Sebastian was busily finishing off the the final touches to the rooms, they explain that the rooms have been completely renovated & give us a guided tour. Looks great.

We arrived just prior to Easter & were graciously invited to have Easter Sunday lunch with the family. One we will cherrish.

All in all a very memorable 6 days. Would love to thank Vanesa for the lovely chats & the tour of her garden, sorry Vanesa but couldn't help but steal a few of your lovely oranges each morning for breakfast.

And yes Alexandros (sorry if spelling is incorrect) Bees do make honey.

We received a friendly welcome and the owners went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and convenient. Our room had just been newly fitted out and was spotlessly clean and well equipped (excellent shower, good lighting, comfortable bed, large fridge, kettle). We had a balcony with a nice view - this hotel is in an amazing location a minute away from the beach. A couple of supermarkets opposite the hotel and lots of restaurants (although very few open as out of season when we stayed). We were only here for one night but would make this the first choice for a longer stay in this beautiful part of Corfu.

I went to Sebastian's with my elderly parents. We were greeted with hugs and kisses by Vanessa, Sebastians mum and really made to feel very welcome. We stayed in the 2 bedroom appartment which was beautiful, with stunning views down to the sea from the balcony. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment was equiped with everying you could need...including scrabble and rumicab! I have to admit we did no cooking as we stayed B&B and in the evenings couldn't tear ourselves away from their taverna as the food was so delicious we wanted (and did ) to try everything on the menu! You won't be dissappointed. Their own wine was delicious especially for us the rose! It is an easy stroll down to the beach which is sandy and the sea was warm enough to swim in in october. A perfect destination for couples with young children and older people. In fact it is fantastic for everyone perhaps except those who want to dance and drink till dawn...sadly not us anymore! I will be recommending this to all my friends and family and it is somewhere that we will return to again and again as many before us have! Thankyou to Sebastian Theresa Vannesa Lina and especially Anna who looked after mum so well!

This was our first time at Sebastian`s and we could not find fault,we were greeted by Sebastain and we sat down for a meal at 9.45pm which was very good.
Our room was clean and we looked over the sea,the room was cleaned every day with fresh towels, the food was very good so much choice and good value.
Sebastian`s mother Vanessa was a very nice lady because she found the time to chat with you, which makes you feel at home,Anna the lady that serves breckfast in the morning has a great personality and nothink is too much trouble( Barry will be back)
All of the staff are very nice cannot fault anyone.
We will be going back, may have to lose weight first?
Thank you once again for a great holiday

We've just returned from our first of hopefully many holidays in Corfu. We were looking for a weeks R&R and Sebestians is exactly what the doctor ordered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sebastian's. It was all and more than we expected from the website and reviews - a very warm welcome from Teresa, Sebastian, Vanessa and all their staff.

Our room was basic but very clean, with air conditioning and a balcony with views over the sea and mountains.

Agios Gordios is a small resort with a sandy beach just a short walk from the hotel.

There's a good choice of bars tavernas for snacks, meals or a drink. Although we had snacks by day elsewhere we ate every evening at Sebestians. Once you have sampled the food at Sebastian's you won't want to eat dinner anywhere else. The menu is extensive and has many traditional Greek dishes to choose from. The staff are an absolute delight and even when busy found time to sit and chat. Sebestian even ate his meal with us on one evening. Vanessa is an absolute star and has a presense around the Taverna that is most entertaining. The live Greek music was excellent. Breakfast served by Anna was great fun too.

One morning we helped harvest this year's grapes from the vines which cover the restaurant terrace - a good opportunity to get to know the other guests.
We also took part in the pressing and decanting of some 750kgs of grapes producing around 500 litres of wine. We have to return next year to finish the process by sampling.

Hire cars were available nearby if you wished to explore however as we were looking for R&R we choose the beach/pool options and the odd walk including a visit to Senardes where time has stood still and stress it seems is unheard of.

All in all if you are looking for a relaxing quiet, small and friendly experience with great food and lovely people then you will enjoy Sebastian's.
