Beautiful location. Our room had a great view. The restaurant was delicious. Sebastian was very gracious. His family was always making sure that we had everything we needed. The rooms were very clean. I can't wait to go back.

We stayed at Sebastians again in June and it was lovely.
The rooms have been renovated over the winter and are lovely with a great new bathroom & shower, new air con etc
The restaurant is lovely with floweres, vines etc and we ate there several nights. The food is lovely as are the breakfasts which provide a great choice.
If you want a relaxing holiday, good food, beautiful surroundings and easy access to Corfu town (via a very interesting bus ride ) then this is for you and the service cant be beaten. Sebastian, Theresa & family are great hosts.
We will definately be back

Well, it has all been said before but I promised Sebastian I would post a review so here goes……..

The taverna is run by Sebastian, his wife Teresa and his mother Vanessa – and not forgetting their lovely little boy who tried to act as waiter one night when we were there much to everyone’s amusement.

We stayed at Sebastian’s for two weeks in June – 8 nights in a studio apartment, 2 nights in one of the renovated rooms and the last 4 nights in the family villa. All properties were spotlessly clean, the studio apartment was a lovely size and was situated on the ground floor, the renovated room had a really comfortable bed and fab shower and the villa (which is Sebastian’s Mum’s home in the winter) had a fantastic balcony overlooking the vine-covered restaurant which was a lovely place to sit and have a glass of wine of an evening.

We ate in the taverna about 6 times, the food was very good and we enjoyed the live bouzouki music. We also ate at Thallassa and Theodores which were also very good and also at Alexis, Stevens and Romantic Palace. If you eat in Sebastian’s try the Greek potatoes – they were fab and I am hoping Teresa will email me the recipe so I can have them now I am home.

We met a man whilst we were there who lives not far from us in Wales. He told us he has stayed there around 40 times and I can see why, the taverna and the village of Agios Gordios would take some beating and we have travelled extensively.

I am sure we will return, it really was a picturesque place and I would like to say many thanks to Sebastian and his lovely family for the welcome and excellent service they gave us during our stay

We stayed for a week from 20th June 2011. Theresa was very pleasant to deal with when we booked, and a taxi was arranged to pick us up from the airport. We arrived quite late in the evening and were greeted by Theresa who showed us to our room.

We stayed in one of the one bedroom first floor apartments which had been tastefully refurbished to an extremely high standard over the winter, what a lovely surprise that was. The shower was fantastic and now I want one! The balcony had views of the surrounding hills and down to the sea. The room was immaculate and bins were emptied daily. Although our room was nearest to the Taverna with regard to noise this really wasn’t a problem. The air conditioning unit in the room was really efficient and there was no extra cost for this.

We found the food at the Taverna to be excellent. There was a wide menu choice and we tried most of the Greek food on it which was absolutely delicious! The food and atmosphere were so nice that we really didn’t feel the need to eat anywhere else. The family and the Taverna staff are genuinely lovely people who want their guests and diners to have a good time and work very hard to see that you do. Sat under the grapevines, glass of wine, surrounded by a well kept garden, eating great food on a balmy evening, honestly it can’t get much better.

We stayed bed and breakfast and breakfast was served up till 11am which meant we could enjoy the odd sleep in. There was a good choice of breakfast menu.

Agios Gordios is a quite a small place with a sandy beach. There are plenty of shops selling general goods and souvenirs on the main street which leads down to the beach. There are also restaurants and cafes. It is pretty quiet really which was exactly what we were after for a relaxing break.

We enjoyed the walks as outlined by the Taverna and the beautiful scenery and views around Agios Gordios and the surrounding areas of Corfu which are truly stunning. I should point out that it is quite hilly so you need to be reasonably fit to undertake some of the walks. However, on the tough bits there is always dinner to look forward to! If you walk to Sinarades do stop at Café Aerostat after you have climbed up the steep donkey track. The view from the café over Agios Gordios is lovely.

The pool at a nearby property that people staying at Sebastian’s can use was really nice and clean and we were made welcome by the staff there.

We took the bus to Corfu Town (4.40 Euros return each). The old town and the area around the old fort is worth a visit once you get past the bus station and the newer part of the town which is very busy. However, we were glad to get back to the slower pace in Agios Gordios.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sebastian’s and Agios Gordios and can’t wait to go back again soon.

Don’t like hotels? Want to be independent? Carefree?
Here is the perfect small private studio/hotel and taverna on the West coast at
Agios Gordios, run by Sebastion and his English wife Teresa.

The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with gleaming modern new fittings and shower cubicle, with copious hot water. The tiling on floor and walls is an up to the minute light and airy professional design. The bedrooms have a large double bed and purpose made furniture, large pvc French windows on to a balcony, with a fly screen, air conditioning ( hot or cold ) and satellite TV.

I ate breakfast outside under the Great Vine, surrounded by roses, antirrhinums, fuscias, and with ripe oranges hanging from the bushes. You really must try Anna’s breakfast of muesli and fruit salad drenched in Greek yoghourt covered with honey. What a gorgeous treat!

The best walk to the beach is down a short high street of tavernas, wine bars and shops, palm trees and plants. The sea is green and blue, it’s warm and sunny, with a long sandy beach with plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas and a great selection of beach tavernas.
Absolutely ideal for lazing around, swimming or just cooling out.
