“superb cottage and excellent location”

My partner, her 91year old mother and I stayed at No3 The Malthouse for the last week in May and can only echo what other reviewers have said. The conversion of the old Malthouse into small cottages has been carried to a very high (modern) standard whilst leaving in some of the original features (in No3 exposed roof timbers).
We found the cottage to be an extremely comfortable, secure and well situated base to return too after a long day exploring. The well thought out welcome pack is indicative of the care and attention that the owners appear to put into preparing the cottage and everything you could possibly need on arrival is waiting for you.
However, whilst there is allocated parking for each cottage (numbered) we found one of our fellow tenants seemed to prefer ours which caused a few problems. That aside, we had a wonderful break in a superb cottage situated in a great location and we will attempt to book again when we return to Bath.

“Perfect for a small family”
Reviewed 7 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Number 3 The Malthouse was perfect for my husband and I and our 5 year old son, and offered great value for money. We were able to rent it for 4 nights over half term – so many properties insist on a whole week or just a weekend, so it was brilliant to find somewhere so flexible on dates. The cottage itself has been beautifully decorated and is full of character yet has all mod cons – washer / dryer, WIFI, DVD, ipod dock, etc. We had a problem with the DVD player and the owners sorted it out for us straight away, which we were really impressed with. It's very close to the city centre and there's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area too - will definitely be aiming to come back next year!

“Smart, comfortable, well located home from home”
Reviewed 6 November 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We very much enjoyed the cottage, which has been finished to a very high standard and is very well kept. The secure off road car parking and the easy access to boats and buses to and from Bath make the location really convenient. If there's a downside it would be the lack of views out - but it is in just to right place to use as a base for exploring Bath and the surrounding area during the day anyway... Everything worked, great to have the shower room and the bath room, WiFi connected excellently, and the whole experience was a pleasure.

“Great Little Find..”
Reviewed 14 July 2013 for a stay in April 2013

My Girl Friend and I stayed at No Three for just under a week to explore the local area. We found the level of finish, furnishings and equipment in the little cottage was high enough to really make us feel at home and relax. I would strongly recommend these little places for a break away. We are quite particular when we stay in Hotel, B&B's etc and really couldn't find anything wrong with the place.. If I was to give one word of warning, it's the traffic from the cottage location to Bath was heavy and very slow moving going in to town. This may have now changed..

“Perfect spot for visiting Bath area”
Reviewed 12 June 2013 for a stay in May 2013

We were very comfortable with the accommodation of Malthouse No. 3. It had everything we needed for a two week stay. Having such a well equipped kitchen meant we could plan to eat in rather than always look for good restaurants. Our own washer and drier also made it very convenient for longer stays. The surrounding countryside provided wonderful walks and the small village with newsagent, convenience store, post office, take away restaurant and pubs was also handy. The best part was the bus stop at the top of the lane with frequent service into Bath and the central bus station for onward journeys. Housekeeping service is very good and the owners do everything possible to make the stay enjoyable. We are glad we found this spot for our next visit to Bath..

“Very clean comfortable, well equiped, quiet private location.”
Reviewed 15 May 2013 for a stay in April 2013

Private secure car parking. Bus stop less than 1 min walk away. Best way to access into Bath.Would recommend a visit to Bradford on avon just 6 miles away. Cycling along canal paths, walking in park, art and craft studios, 14th century tea rooms.
Cheddar Gorge must be seen.
Loved Somerset, would return again to explore more of the county.

“A real find -- a very convenient, very comfortable place to stay when visiting the Bath area”
Reviewed 15 October 2012 for a stay in September 2012

The Malthouse cottage we rented for three nights turned out to be perfect for our needs. The bus stop for taking the bus into Bath is at the end of the laneway leading to the private, gated parking. The buses run very frequently right into the city centre and the trip takes about 10 minutes.

The unit itself was fabulous -- excellent wifi, spotlessly clean, and all the appliances you could ask for -- a washer/dryer and a dishwasher are included. The water was hot and you can control the heating in the unit. The malthouses cottages are located in a very quiet laneway well off the main road.

Batheaston itself has a couple of shops where you can pick up food and other supplies, but there is a Sainsbury's right at the bus stop in Bath opposite the train station where you can catch the bus for the return journey. The thoughtful owners also left a few essentials in the fridge which can come in handy if you arrive late in the day.

The owners were also a pleasure to deal with and we hope to return for a longer stay since the location is fantastic for travel all around the Bath area.
