Mixed feedback for the old mill hotel. Primarily chose the hotel for the riverside setting in a quiet village 3 miles outside Bath, plus the river taxi from the village into Bath city centre. Didn't disappoint on this front. Hotel is adjacent to river Avon and views from hotel restauraunt across countryside are stunning. River taxi runs regularly from just across the bridge and takes 30 min to Bath city centre. Food served in the hotel restaurant was also excellent. Carvery on Saturday evening and full English both mornings were delicious.
We had two main criticisms of our stay at the hotel, both relating to our room. Firstly the bathroom had a strong smell of drains which we couldn't smell if the bathroom door was kept shut, but was almost unbearable when in the bathroom. Secondly, our double bed folded up into the wall! The bed was small, mattress thin and uncomfortable, and the bed had a large gap to the wall.
Overall, had a great weekend in Bath, the highlight undoubtly being the 'bizarre Bath' comedy walk round the town at 8pm on Easter Sunday. Would strongly recommend!More
