Most of the rooms in the hotel are very small and much too warm!
The mostly used official picture shows the backside of the hotel, which is quite nice, but the entrance area looks much different - and is not so romantic at all!
The service provided was just awful, the food in the restaurant was ugh.
Try to reorder your drinks or ask for some tartar sauce - you can wait for a lifetime.
After returning home they booked 150 pounds on my credit card without explanation or authorization. Still trying to sort this out, no response after 5 mails and 2 personal calls - we will check and send you a mail....nothing.
Not recommended at all - Beautiful Bath has much better to offer!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with air conditioning and facing towards the gardens. If you sleep out to the front...

Really enjoyed our 2 night stay here. Staff were amazing. Nothing was too much for them. Lots of advice about getting into Bath (Boat trip was excellent) Friendly bar/breakfast staff too. Room was lovely. Comfy bed, nice bathroom and lounge with great river views. Breakfast was superb. Wide choice and HOTcoffee. We will be back! Thanks.x

Room Tip: Stay in the main building rather than the motel style rooms across the carpark.

We stayed here on 5 October 12 - we were lucky and given the nicest room in the house with the view of the mill and a 4 poster bed. We ate in the restaurant and had a very nice meal - breakfast was also good. Would return when the boat is running

We spent 2 nights at this hotel after a week camping in Devon and were hoping for some comfort/luxury before our return home. Our room was in the Lodge, which basically consists of a number of square tin rooms at the end of the car park somewhat resembling a sleazy motel. The room was tiny, barely 6ins between the end of the bed and the wall. It was also dirty, no idea what the maid/cleaner did every morning but there was dirt and hairs all over the floor and in the bathroom. Sleeping was very problematic as the sheet was far too small for the bed. Breakfast both mornings was served by individuals who didn't appear to understand much English which made it difficult when I asked about vegetarian altenatives. When I asked for baked beans on toast the second morning it was served cold. The butter which was available to spread on the toast was somewhat rancid, tasting of blue cheese.
All in all this had to be the worst hotel either myself of my husband have ever stayed in, and we have travelled extensively. I do hope that this review will enable any future people to think twice before booking a stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: Find another hotel.

First things first food is very good dinner and breakfast, Although late rooms display 2.pm room available we were told could not have until 3pm. Room a bit cluttered wardrobe over the window bedside cabinet not enough room to put to side of bed,and our "superior" room had a great view of the restaurant roof so not what we expected. Staff were fine and no issues. The hotel really needs a good clean and update to make it worth going back to. The water taxi was not available so had to drive into Bath. pity was looking forward to that. So with a bit of a investment into the hotel and its great location it could it could be a really great place to stay but not quite yet.

I booked this hotel before checking trip advisor and then panicked! Well I couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The setting is amazing. Such a beautiful spot and so close to Bath. Not a cheap city. Paid £80 for a standard twin room. It was spotlessly clean, bathroom spanking new and lots of LARGe fluffy white towels. Slept really well and was even more surprised by the served breakfast. I hate those buffet breakfasts and at that price I expected one. But it was a great breakfast with plentry of choices. Coffee could have been better and maybe some extra bedding but quite frankly I don't know how they can do it at that price. Staff were very pleasant and helpful and obviously trying hard to do a good job. Maybe I was lucky with the room but I certainly would return.

I read a review of the Old Mill where it was described as 'scruffy'. That pretty much sums it up. Oh, and spiders everywhere. The brochures and website pics of this hotel are not showing reality.
The small sign and driveway is easily missed and you'll likely have to cross the toll bridge where they extort 60p from you, both ways. Should you chose to stay here, the entrance to the hotel is right beside the toll bridge, on the left as you come up from the Bath city centre. The receptionist seemed bored or our arrival must have interrupted some ultra-important task as checking in seemed to be an irritant. The room was small but clean, with a fairly comfortable bed, and well stocked mini-bar. The bathroom was more than adequate, but there was a rather bad smell coming from the drain. The lounge bar was scruffy with spiders everywhere and there is a limited anount of drinks to chose from. They had no fruit for coctails or mixed drinks. The beer was foul and I suspect the pipes were dirty. I love Guiness but was unable to drink a pint due to that fact. The restaurant had wobbly chairs (some had missing arms) and tables with marks and poor varnish. The windows were loaded with spider webs and their makers. I was afraid to look under the table. I knew there would be spiders there too. The food was excellent however. The service was good too. The wine list had several wines to chose from, but they only had one in stock. Luckily, it turned out to be pretty good too. Breakfast was simple fair and we chose a continental breakfast, which is hard to get wrong. The coffee was bad though. Sigh.
I can't understand how the rooms can be so clean and neat, while the rest of the hotel seems neglected? Not really a concern for me now as I will not be staying there again.
