“Comfortable, picturesque and great service.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2013 via mobile

A very pleasant experience. We arrived early and the staff were very helpful with directions for catching the bus into Bath (about 10 minutes). So we left the car in their parking area and didn't return around 10pm, where we were greeted and checked in.

The room was cosy with twin beds (which was what we booked) and a very modern refurbished bathroom. The staff were very detailed on check in with clear instructions for the trick to hot water for the shower which was also written in their information folder. I had forgotten my international power adaptor and reception came to the rescue.

Breakfast was included and in a beautiful setting overlooking the mill wheel, river and bridge. Continental and hot were available - both good quality. Fresh and plentiful. Again, staff were excellent.

Would definitely return if I was lucky enough to visit the area again!

This hotel is a little hard to find and is located next to an old toll bridge.
The location of the hotel is beautiful, on a river and next to an old bridge. The room we had was a bit small but compensated by the bathroom which was big.

Room Tip: Maybe ask to see the room before you check in

The location is lovely, andthe river views are amazing. A little too far out of the heart of Bath to walk there but very easy and fast to get there. The hotel needs a good coat of paint to freshen it up. The rooms were not what I had booked and they were unable to make any changes due to a busy summer season. The food in the restaurant was ok, quite expensive for dinner. The service in the restaurant was really great though which made up for alot. The service at the front desk was ok, not amazing. Getting wifi was a pain, you had to pay for it by the hour which was difficult when trying to work. On line the rooms look amazing, in real life they look average. The bathrooms were very modern which was super. AC or fans in the rooms would be nice in the summer, as there is no way to get cross ventilation.

Room Tip: Request a room overlooking the river. If you have any special requests I'd call the morning of c...

Ok work booked it and not my choice. Most reviews here accurate. A little like fawlty towers. Ok this is not an expensive hotel. With a lick of paint, a handyman, a very good cleaner and some customer service training it would be decent. For one night palatable.

This review is for those people who have booked and then read the negative reviews.
The location of this hotel is gorgeous, beautiful views. You can walk into central Bath, drive or take a boat.
The staff are extremely helpful, it was hot during our stay and a fan was provided.
We parked free of charge for 2 days and saw the sights of Bath with no parking/ driving hassles.
Rooms are clean and comfortable.
I would certainly return.

As perfect settings go, it doesn't get much better than this. Sad then that the hotel in the best position in Bath is so poor. The food is quite frankly dreadful and anything more than a sandwich is best avoided. Frozen, poorly presented and bland.

The service and general feel of the place is couldn't care less and the whole demeanour is generally scruffy and low standard. When asked for anything it seemed an effort and overall, it is sadly best avoided. The rooms are a bit scruffy and unkempt and the whole place needs a management shake up or a new owner to make it so much better.

On another note there is NO FREE INTERNET and prices for a few hours are absolutely outrageous. For business travellers this will be the kiss of death and a good reason not to book. The other reasons will be that no-one really gives a stuff about customer service.

Room Tip: Choose a lodge room.
