“Fantastic, Highly Recommended”
Reviewed 9 August 2013 via mobile

This was our third visit to this hotel and I was pleased to see that not much had changed. The room we had was very spacious and kept extremely clean, with the maid coming in to the room every day and towels and bedding getting changed twice a week. A special mention must be made of all the staff in the hotel, they are all very friendly, even those that speak very little English, they all make you feel very welcome

The hotel has free wi-fi, safety deposit boxes were available for 15 euros per week

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice of fresh bread, ham, cheese, tomatoes, fresh fruit, eggs, the restaurant also served evening meal for 12 euro, which I believe was very good also, although I did not try this myself

This hotel comes highly recommended for its lovely location, very friendly staff and great rooms

This was our second visit to Kalloni Bay Hotel & we were not disappointed! We visited 4 years ago & the staff remembered us (for good reasons!) - we couldn't have been made to feel more at home! Rooms are 3* but the position just across the road from the beach, public areas & gardens are 4*, the staff are simply 5*+; from the cleaning staff to the manager the staff are simply magnificient! They smile from start to finish, through thick & thin & can't do enough for you without being insincere, wow!
Firstly the rooms are very basic but they are clean (how long do you want to spend in you room anyway !?!?). As mentioned in other reviews the bathrooms are small but they are clean with fresh towels twice a week and plenty of hotwter.
Breakfast is perfectly adequate with lots of choice, evening meals are good value for money & bar snacks are good too - plenty of choice. Special mentions are a must for Kosta on the bar thank you for looking after us, Stratoula on reception (thank you again), Mr George - manager and both Stratuolas who wait tables, serve behind the bar etc two very smiley people thank you! We are already planning next year's trip!!!

The staff are superb, very freindly and helpful. Rooms are very clean, nice and comfortable communal spaces, gardens neat and tidy and the pools are very good and clean. The breakfast they provide is excellent. Lunches are really nice and well priced.
Our room was fine, but the bathroom was very tired and years past needing an upgrade, though the shower did at least have a curtain.
Its a place to come and relax, see the bird life or, use as a hub to visit other places. In the end we hired a car because getting around is so time consuming on this island. The nearest local bus stop is 5km away and we think the restaurants in the village are very over-rated. Best restaurants we found were in Petra and Molyvos, and usually gave far superior food and quality of wine than any down in the the village.
From our experience, you don't come to Lesbos for golden beaches, the ones we came across were more like a mix of dirt/ dust and volcanic sand.

Room Tip: Ask for an upstairs room with a view of the bay.

First visit to Lesvos but not the last . On arrival we were cheked into our first floor sea view room within 10 mins. Room ok shower needs a bit of TLC nice views of the gardens, skaloni pool and the sea.Sheets were changed four times in two weeks, towels every day, fridge in our room which was a god send to keep water & other things cool even froze bottle water each day as so hot. Breakfast consisted of cereals, various bread, greek yoghurt & honey ( yum yum ), pastries, cakes fruit meat , cheese, sausages, beans, boiled eggs, some days fried egg other days omelette, only had bacon sundays. Ate at the hotel on two nights, 12 euros for a three course buffet. A special thank you to all the staff & Efi who greeted hubby at 5.30am as most mornings he was off bird watching.Tina, Mr Grorge, Kostas, the cleaners and finally Stratoula the most hard working and smillest waitress we have ever seen.

Our third visit to the island, which remains a stunning as ever. The hotel gets better and better with it's beautiful gardens bursting with colour and the food even tastier than last year. The bathrooms are a little cramped but always spotless, and the staff are as friendly and helpful as you could ever wish.

First time to Lesvos so wasn't sure what to expect for 3* Hotel given mixed experiences across Europe. This is a wonderful, friendly, clean and comfortable hotel with a light and spacious feel to communal areas and good sized bedrooms.

The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly - Efi on the front desk and Costas at the bar deserve a big thank you as does the cleaning lady who made the room spotless everyday.

The breakfast was good with a wide choice of cereals, breads, cold meats and cheeses, fruit and yogurt. Eggs, beans and sausage were also on offer if that's your thing. Didn't have the evening meals as there is a good range of choice in Skala Kalloni (5mins walk along the beachfront) but i'm told at 12 Euro's it was good value.

Have already booked again for next year and can't wait to get back.

Room Tip: For any birwatchers ask for a first floor room facing the front overlooking Kalloni Pool.
