“Beautiful and relaxing”
Reviewed 23 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

This was a beautiful villa that was both peaceful and convenient to all of the activities we did. Sandra met us when we first arrived and showed us all the nearby places that we might need. There were transfers for both our arrival and departure as well as a great car for our use. The villa itself was wonderful with a pool and outside gardens and balconies to sit ad enjoy the sunrise and sunset. There was air conditioning in the bedrooms which made everything very comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of amenities and dining and living rooms were great. All in all we would highly recommend this rental.

“Perfect villa in great location”
Reviewed 18 July 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Booking and communication prior to our holiday was very efficient. Information package received the week before contained all helpful info. Transfer from airport makes finding the location easy, but with the very good directions from Jorg we would have found it ourselves - no problem!
The house, its facilities and the garden (Park) is no less than shown in the pictures - it is just excellent.
Allthough secluded the location is not far from more small towns. You reach Chania and Rethymno in less than 3/4 hour.
We'll certainly return.

“Excellent - wonderful Villa, that catered for all!”
Reviewed 9 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We had a wonderful holiday at Villa Lefka Ori. We have a large family with our childrens ages ranging from 21 down to 6, and this villa was a superb find, that catered for us all, and we could not have wished for better. This is a new villa on the market, and it is clear that the owners have spent time, money and consideration as to what people look for whilst on holiday. The villa is between the mountains and coast, and does require you to have transport, but they do supply a Fiat Panda, which meant that we only need to rent 1 other small car rather than 2. There are beaches that can be found as close as a 10 minute drive, there is also Lake Kournas not too far for swimming or pedalos. It is all accessible. The villa is set up as 2 separate apartments, which suited our family structure very well, with the older children having privacy downstairs, while we had the larger upstairs and balconies. There is also a gym, with table football, which was enjoyed too. The pool is salt water, which was different but in truth we felt better than chlorination. There are a lot of steps going down to the pool, but given the terrain, is quite normal for Crete. We enjoyed the French Boules outside in the evening - but for me, my favourite time was watching the sunset over the mountains in the evening - WOW! What a view! Being close to the mountains meant there was more of a breeze at times, but it lowered the temperatures by about 3 degrees, which meant it was more pleasant to be in, and not unbearable during the day (given that the coastal temperature was around 38 degreees) There is a small local shop in the town, which like you find in the UK a bit more expensive than bigger ones, but good in case you run out of essentials. We did most of the shopping at either the Lidls in Kalyves or Chania, as we were out and about in the cars anyway. We did find there were core essentials at the villa when we arrived - coffee, tea, salt, pepper etc, along with washing powder, liquid. We assumed there'd be nothing when we arrived so bought it en-route. We did leave behind goods for the next guests, and which I think the previous guests did too, so maybe check first before doing that big shop. A special mention has to be made for Sandra was around to welcome us, who was a delight to meet, and very informative to local amenities. We would also see her and her partner out walking their dog, and so very pleasant. Walter and Isabel come in to clean the pool and house, they were unintrusive and again informative of local area and attractions. There is so many positives on this villa, I am sure I haven't covered half of them. We like to travel to different countries each year, but being quite honest this is one area we would love to come back to, and I believe that this beautiful villa and it's spectacular setting is one of the main reasons for that. There is wifi in the villa, which was great, though in the summer months this can be a bit up and down at peak times, but certainly not problematic. Vamos is the closest big town, where a post office can be found, along with Jon the English Butcher shop. It's less that a 5 minute drive away and they have a lovely square where their local "pubs" are - at the end of our holiday we found it great to stop there for a mythos beer on the way home and watch the world go by with the locals, or to stop on the way out for dinner again to watch the world go by! There is a slower pace to life there which we found good for the soul for 2 weeks.

Liked best: The sunsets over the mountains
Liked least: There aren't too many historical places to visit that I could find. Ancient Aptera was the only 1 that I could find online.
