“Great hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed in may for two weeks and had a great stay. I have to say i dont know how anybody can say anything bad about the food. It was fantastic, fresh salads, lots of choice.
We had a suite in the new block. Its worth paying the extra to stay here, great veiws big rooms. The barmen at the top bar i found fine, if you spoke to them they spoke to you,
The pool at the top apartments was perfect for our two kids of 7 and 13. Its not deep so perfect as they couldnt get in to trouble unlike the pool at the bottom bar which is a lot deeper,
The bay the hotel stands in is nice and quite, theres a couple of tavernas one with lovely veiws across the bay, theres two shops one in the hotel across the road but dont go there its expensive, walk down the road to the other shop more choice and a lot cheaper,
We will be back next year, we cant wait

This was myself & my boyfriend's 2nd visit to this hotel. When we stayed here in August 2012, it was amazing......clean, fresh, lovely food.....

Sadly, the same could not be said for the returning visit. I could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel or how friendly & helpful the staff are. So again, two very positive aspects to this visit.

Where to start.....the food, so samey & this time hardly any traditional Greek food - on our first visit, there was always one traditional dish per night. This time, we had chinese?! In Greece.....I have better in my local take out back home! Turkey & Brussel Sprouts?! Us brits would rather have the local cuisine than a poor imitation of what we get served at Christmas.
Suggestion number 1. A big enjoyment of holidaying in Greece is sampling the excellent quality local food, bring back a traditional menu.
All Inclusive drinks.....they were ok for all inclusive, not great, but not bad either. Cocktails were very strong!
Entertainment: More frequent than on our first visit. Enjoyed the Greek dancing evening.....but why have karaoke?! If I wanted Karaoke, I'd go to a resort like Falaraki that has it in abundance.
Good variety of daytime leisure activities.

As before, the hotel is in good proximity to Lindos, (taxi is ~8euros each way), & a good base for exploring other parts of the island like Tsampika beach, Prasonisi Island, Rhodes Town etc. I would recommend hiring a car, but the hotel does good deals for 3 day car hire.

Would I return again? well, there's always third time lucky!

Our studio accommodation was very nice, but the quality of the food was poor & definitely not 4 star. The choice was not geared to the British & the quality was canteen slop. We have stayed 3 star & had much better! We've had better breakfast at Travelodge! Consequently we spent more than we should have eating outside of the hotel.
Also as others have mentioned the bar closed at 11pm, the quality of the drinks was very poor & if wanting anything after that time it had to be purchased from vending machines! The experience has put us off all inclusive for life.
The Thomson rep was disinterested in our concerns.

My husband and I were bought this holiday by family in celebration of our 25th Wedding Anniversary. After reading some of the reviews prior to going I was a little apprehensive, however I needn't have been.

The hotel is bright with friendly staff who can't do enough for you... Cleanliness is a top priority with rooms being cleaned daily, with new sheets and towels.

The room was bright and airy, there is a fridge and air conditioning and we had a bath and shower.. We didn't need anything more than this....
Food in abundance and something for everyone, it is buffet style the restaurant is exceptionally clean with very attentive staff.

Pool areas are clean, the top pool is quieter and a welcome relief to the very hot sunshine, we dipped in on out to cool down.. Plenty of sun beds with parasols...

The beach is shingle/small pebbles, but just lovely, doesn't get too busy and always plenty of beds (at a cost of €4 for each bed) beach is clean and the sea great for a swim or snorkel...

Lindos itself is just a short taxi ride away and is a must do, beautiful, magical.... We ate in Alex's restaurant in the evening on the roof top.. Wow... Food was great again the staff looked after us. The views stunning and so pretty when it starts to get dark and all the lights start to twinkle... Lindos does have a few more modern loud music bars if that is what you want

This hotel and destination for us was just what we needed, nice and quiet with one shop a couple of restaurants and bars just down the road.. This is not a resort for those looking for mad bad and crazy, drunken holidays...

We came home after having a wonderful time and have since returning booked to go back next year with our daughter and boyfriend..

The only point slightly negative is the lobby bar where the free wifi us is NOT included in the all inclusive deal.. This is not the end of the world for us anyway...

Room Tip: We stayed in the old hotel part and we were more than happy, if you want a bit more luxury then pay...

We stay in vacations in Greece almost every year and we think we found one of the best places and hotels in the country to spend vacations. We stayed in the hotel for two weeks and appreciated service and friendliness of the staff. Meals were abundant with different kinds of fruit, vegetables and meet and even soup for lunch and dinner. It was hard to resist not to try all appetizers. For the breakfast the coffee was served by Michailis who who was everyday in a good mood and taught us a few Greek words. The best overview over the happening in the restaurant had Kay that made order from chaos in no time.
In the hotel we meet the best bartenders ever Carlos and Nikos. You did not even need to say what you want. They just guessed.
The rooms were spacey and clean, they regularly change sheets and towels and washed floors every day. The hotel was due to hardworking cleaners very neat.
For the last and the best we ought to mention the animation team: Momo, Francesca, Kyle, Louise, Caroline, Aga and Marten. They made vacations very special and are very good at what they are doing. You just need to have courage to join to the activities and they will made your vacations unforgettable.
We appreciated hard work and enthusiasm of the staff to make guests as comfortable as possible and to make unforgettable stay at the hotel.

We have just arrived back from a week stay in the Lindos White Hotel. Firstly, absolutely pay the extra money for the suites in the new block. We booked a normal room and then changed our minds and paid for the upgrade, absolutely worth it. The new rooms are really lovely, big balcony, beautiful view in the morning/evening, morning sun and close to the top pool.

We had two fresh bottles of water every day, so no problems on that front.

The food is 'ok'. It's definitely not a 'luxury' hotel. The drinks aren't branded, but you can refill your drink at breakfast/lunch/dinner (which i think is best to avoid the problem of poor service if you don't tip). Good variety of food, breakfast was great, a European take on 'English Breakfast', pancakes, crepes etc. Lunch/Dinner quite samey, but always something tasty even for the most discerning of pallets.

As other reviews have mentioned, the food at the pool bars is 'ok'. Toasties are quite tasty, but the baguettes are dry and hard. Chips are chips and i didn't dare try a hot dog..

The pools were lovely, a little chilly but perfect to cool down. The top pool is very shallow, not really suitable for swimming. Sun loungers when we went (12th July) were in abundance, but by the time we were leaving, they had started to fill up much quicker.

I would recommend going down to the beach at least once. It is a shingle beach, but you avoid the problem of sand getting everywhere. You are expected to pay for loungers (which i think is ridiculous considering it's 'all inclusive'). But if you go down a little later i.e 2pm, you might get away with not paying. Beach clean and the water beautifully clear but it does get deep very suddenly.

You can 'rent' beach towels for €10 a towel, which is returned to you at the end, you can also swap out the towels daily for fresh ones. You also have to pay €10 for the safe key, which again isn't really 'all inclusive'.

The Entertainment was possibly the weirdest series of acts i've ever seen. It's pretty funny for kids, and some select acts were funny, but overall it's weird and there's a lot of dancing considering very few of the entertainers seem to be trained in dancing.. Entertainment is 3 or 4 times a week at the bottom bar, but i found it more awkward than entertaining. Again bingo one night but you're expected to pay extra.

A few notes/criticisms:
We found hair in our food nearly every day that we ate in the restaurant. As it's a buffet i understand that it's more difficult to control, but i think 6/7 days is pretty ridiculous.

The waiters in the top bar are very grumpy, particularly the guy that works during the day (they switch over around 4pm). Doesn't really speak and rarely smiles. The guy after 4pm was more jolly. If you want a strong drink that tastes horrible, go to the top pool bar. If you want a weak drink that tastes nice, go to the bottom pool bar. And if you wanted a branded drink that you have to pay for, go to the reception bar. Wine was vile and the beer was ok, juice isn't real juice, it's squash.

After about 9.30am they stop making fresh refills for the buffet at breakfast, so if pancakes are being served, you'll need to make a request and they'll make them to order.

We walked down to the nearby 'super-market' a few times for snacks etc. Turn right out of the hotel and keep walking, it's called a super market but think more corner shop than Tesco.

It's absolutely worth going into Lindos. It is beautiful, although i did feel a little sorry for the Donkeys. Have a look at St. Pauls Bay it is breathtaking. You can get a bus at 10.05 from outside the Lindos Bay Hotel, it's around €1.80. We got a taxi back, as we didn't fancy scaling the hill.

We waited at the 'taxi-rank' to go into Lindos, but no taxis materialized after 20 minutes. There's a €2 charge for call outs.

This is not the hotel for you if you're looking for action packed/partying.

Beds are rock hard and a double is actually two very separate singles pushed together, found out after falling through the middle.

Overall a lovely holiday and the weather was perfect. Shan't be staying at this hotel again, but will certainly come back to Lindos.

We stayed here for 2 nights, rooms are decorated in a nice modern way. Obviously the main color is white. We did not have a nice view or anything in the ground floor. May be rooms in the other floors has a nicer view. Breakfast is fine. Service is good.
