“Pleasant Stay in the Pine Forest”
Reviewed 12 April 2009

This was our first trip to Turkey and we were pleasantly surprised. The Hotel has a small, clean and friendly reception area with a bar. On arrival at our rooms we were disappointed at how small they were and how tired looking they were, they also had nowhere to sit, only the bed. Our friends had a connecting room with us, and their room was smaller with 2 single beds. However, having said that, they were very clean, with hot water at all times. The restaurants, of which there were many were fantastic. The service in the a la carte restaurants was very good, and minimal in the buffet restaurant. There was such a huge variety in the choice of food that we never went out with the good intentions we went into the restaurant with!!! The red wine was delicious, and the juices in the morning were lovely, you could help yourself to a carton of whatever flavour you desired.

The beach was lovely and clean, but was shingle. There were two adult jetties, which were fantastic. Peaceful and comfortable. There was also a jetty where we saw fisherman on occasions, so if you fancy taking your rods, this is the place!!

There is a little funfair at the entrance to the hotel, which was not noisy, but really cute.

Plenty of sun terraces where you could eat, drink or just relax with something from the fabulous Patisserie. If you like a wonderful meal with all the trimmings, then please make a reservation for the French Restaurant - this is a Bistro during the day, with great food, but smaller portions - it is a snack bar through the night, for the late arrivals, or midnight pickers.

We booked a Turkish Breakfast in the Turkish Restaurant, which was very interesting!! Some of it was very nice, especially the tea, but if we go back, and we intend to, we would give this a miss.

This hotel is immaculately clean and all the toilets were very very clean, even the ones at the beach.

There are water chutes for the bigger kids and a little pool with elephant slides and things for the tiny tots. A nice swimming pool for the grown ups and music and things going on. If that is not your scene then there is also a relax pool, which is in a very quiet area.

You can jump on a Dolmus Bus outside the hotel and go into Side which is about a 5 minute journey and you will see the most amazing ruins, even the remains of ancient mosaics are on the ground where you walk !! I hated the shop vendors though, once you were in their shops, they did not want you to leave, and if you left without buying anything some made nasty comments. They all like to haggle, which I used to enjoy a few years ago, but now I can't be bothered to waste my time. There is also a very big market on a Monday in Manavgat which is about a 20 minute journey on the bus. That market is huge and although lots of the same things, it was cheaper than Side. Also the Dolmus is VERY much cheaper than a taxi. For example you pay one price on the Dolmus whether you are going 5 minutes or 25 minutes, and we paid 7 Turkish Lire for 4 of us each journey. The taxi driver wanted 14 Euros to take us one way into Side.

One annoying thing was we had Euros and changed them into Turkish Lire before we went, we shouldn't have bothered as everything is marked up in Euros. And, for information, they will take any currency.

We loved it the Restaurants, the bars, the staff, the cleanliness and the surroundings and for a large hotel you never felt that it was big, because the layout was very clever.

we went in june, hot but not to hot, wouldnt go any later as it would be unberable for the children. we found the staff very helpfull and freindly. they really appreciated the british good manners ie please and thankyou, obviously not something they here often. the maids were amazing, clean bed linen every day, my husband left a pair of boxers on the floor one day when went back to our room we found them butifully arranged in to a butterfly on the bed. the kids loved it there, my eldest spent all his time snorkling in the sea, my daughter aged 10 found lots of british kids her age, we hardly saw her during the day,and my youngest age2 loved everything although the staff kept rubbing his head which he got a bit fed up with, somthing to do with blonde hair and blue eyes. our only complaint would be the kids evening entertainment because they had to kater for so many langauges my children found it a bit boring. all in all fantastic holiday and would love to go again oneday.

First of we got of the plane and the coach journey was long and tiring. we got of and was shown our room clean and tidy. There is a maid service everyday for those who dont know. Also the minibar gets stacked up witch coke water and sprite most days. The bar is open all night good beer the whisky and vodka was a bit rough though. Theres entertainment live bands shows. Also there is a nightclub which opens at 11. The food is delicious as there is a wide choice of food every night. Lunch is the same as dinner. Breakfast is like a fry-up. Drink is served all day. The staff and reps were very helpful and friendly. The pool was tested every day and was freezing!! The Beach was nice if you like sunbathing. The town was nice although people in shops hassle you to buy there items.
Ice cream and cakes were available all day. Nightlife is ok Theres Clubs Around the area. Also theres an ancient city. for visiting during the day. OVERALL A GREAT HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE!!!

We spent our holiday - me, my husband and my son (2.5 years old) - in Voyage Club Sorgun Select this summer. We were impressed by good organized area of Hotel's facilities, located mostly in woodland space, giving us opportunity to spend fantastic time there.
Here are some disadvantages in my opinion: stony sea-bottom; no sea food in main restaurant (just some fish); no nuts offered; no room service; it’s not Ultra All Inclusive – it’s AI; paid fan fair (it’s announced in fact sheet, but I think it supposed to be free of charge)
Some advantages: kind personnel; cleanness; good maintenance of hotel’s areas; noise is well separated from tranquility places; various and sufficient choice of food….
Thank you!
It was good and we think of coming back in 2009.

I've chosen this club because of its good references on this site, but it seems that the good references are from a few years ago. We are going for 10 years in Turkey, but we never had such bad services anywhere.

The club itself is very nice, with a lot of vegetation; the rooms are nice, spacious and clean- we were the lucky ones who got a bungalow room with garden view,so it was quiet.

But, during meals,we were terrified to find again uncleaned tables, waiters who didn't bother to serve us and you would have been very lucky to get a glass of wine.

Even it is supposed to be an ultra all inclusive club, no bars had menius with the included beverages, but only lists with extra money ones. We succeeded only after a couple of days to find out which were thebevereages included in so called UAI: beer(with a lot of water inside),turkish liquers, vodka garrone-very nice: every time i've asked for garrone bianco,i 've got a terrible turkish vermut!

Not to mention that if we went for dinner at 20:15,we couldn't find anything more to eat, even if the restaurant was supposed to close at 21:00.This never happened to us before.

If you don't want to get irritated and to cry after your money, stay away from this hotel!

The hotel itself is above average (although not 5 * as rated), nice beach and pools, but weather is unbearable: humidity is over 90% so you have to be a fish to stay here.

ROOMS
Since we arrived we were told that they do not have any rooms available in the bungalows, so we ended in a secondary building (not the hotel) close to the resort entrance having a "splendid view" of the road and "enjoying" the noise of traffic. After 2 days discussions and promises we were invited to change rooms but still not in a bungalow as we wished AND PAID FOR!
CHILDREN
My child is 12 years old. A difficult age to deal with for the hotel employees... He did not received the 5 free entry tickets for the Funfair because we were told that he is ADULT in their evidences. However, when inadvertently we entered the Adults restaurant we were invited to leave it immediately (while we were eating) because my son was NOT AN ADULT this time. At least they could have asked their personnel to advise any new tourist at the entry in that restaurant about the rules and not while we were eating.
We choose this family resort especially for our son as it was recommended as very good for families with children. Unfortunately, our son wanted to leave after the first day experience.
BEACH
The other thing that I hat it, was the beach. Stones everywhere in the water, difficult to manage without special sleepers. Yes, there are 5 or six pools available but extremely crowded at all times. For me is important to enjoy the sea. Pool water is everywhere regardless location...Why bother to choose between Mediterranean, Egeean, Black Sea, or Greece, Italy, France, Croatia, Spain ... Pool water is the same.
CATS
And the last problem that for others might be something "really nice" is that cats were present everywhere: on our terrace, in the restaurants and ON MY TABLE at breakfast. After the cat jumped on my table, I changed the food and of course the table but still I had a terrible feeling all day that I have some cat hair in my mouth... I bet they have cats including in the cooking areas... So beware of cats if you are allergic or simply don't like cats.
