“Would recommend - hotel just isolated for evening walks”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 October 2010

Went as a party of 4 - mum, stepdad, friend and I - we had 2 rooms and the Hotel were great at putting the rooms on the same floor in the same block - at our request from the UK.

I think from the other reviews, you can gather this is a Very Good hotel - it can cater for all and we all came away having had a great holiday.

The only thing I think this hotel lets itself down on is the location. If, like us, you like to eat dinner and then go for a short walk around afterwards, or in the afternoon, just go for a little walk for some exercise - then this isn't something you could do here. We did feel it was a bit isolated and didn't walk in the evenings.

It is only 3KM from Side - we did go there paying about 2 TL each and caught the local bus. Would deinitely recommend this for an afternoon. Had a harbour, market stalls, some ancient ruins etc etc. Don't book the Thomson's trip to Side, it's a rip off.

The other trip we went on was the day trip Antalya. It was £14 and really, I wouldn't recommend it. The day started with a triup to a jewellers (only fab if you intend on buying some jewellry really - otherwise it was a lot of hassle) then two waterfalls, and some time in Antalya around the markets and harbour. But really, wasn't the best trip and too much time at each place.

We felt the food was good and had a varied selection - we did try 3 of the a la carte restaurants - I think with a mix of both worlds, you'll be happy and there's enough choice. We ate in the adult restaurant and it was really nice not to have children around. The restaurants were fab too.

Only other moan would be the pools / swim beds. The large family pool was packed and cramped - honestly, it was also filthy at the end of the day. Loud music playing too (fine if this is what you want and you want a bit of life). Children, rubbish, and it wasn't really our cup of tea. But, there were always beds here too.

However, the Relax pool was like a different hotel. Quiet, peaceful and by about 8.30 there were still beds available.

The beach - great, sandy, bring shoes for the sea - although it was lovely warm, fishes - bring a snorkle too. You couldn't get on the Adults only pier whatsoever - we went down at 7am and it was full (people paying pool boys?!) of towels. Very annoying. Could find space on beach though at all times of day - we found an area that was quiet too.

As it's all inclusive and they work mainly with the euro I wouldn't bother taking any Turkish Lira - only Euro or Pounds (as they were happy to recive). Agree with all comments before about Antalya airport - it was ridiculously expensive!!

Definitely a 4* - there were some maintenance issues that needed updating, but we would recommend it overall.

Have just returned from Voyage Sorgun, disappointed with Adult Restaurant food. Little variety and very samey. Used the A La Carte restaurants and they were really good, the booking system is easy to use and a must. Beach bar simply hundreds of wasps, they didn't sting anyone that we knew of but very off putting whilst that bar was the best. Lunch at the Beach Bar was very good especially the Chicken. Entertainment average, they tried. No live music, they mimed to West End musicals mostly. Lots of Germans, sometimes difficult to get served at Lobby Bar. Our room was not available to us at 2.00am when we arrived we were put in a garden room for the first night, this was not uncommon when talking to other guests. We stayed in the main hotel block, room ok, quite big, air con very good, not as clean as I would have liked. Bathroom very very small and a huge step up over the side of the bath to shower. Rooms / corridors noisey from other guests, banging doors at 6.30am. You need to be up and putting your towels on the piers if you want to use them. Otherwise plenty of sunbeds around the grounds. We had broken balcony furniture, ok they changed it immediately but why did it take us to notice it? Only one UK TV channel and about 28 German ones. Staff incredibly accommodating. Sounds like we didn't enjoy our stay when in fact we did, in my opinion Sorgun is not a 4*.

Haveing been to many all inclusives around the globe this hotel rates as one of the best yet. From the moment we arrived everything was done to make us welcome and ensure our stay was to be enjoyable. We had booked a double room which was in the main block and as I have a mobility issue it could not be better situated, a lift ride down to the restaurants and our favourite pool, the Relax Pool. The only drawback with this pool, it was very popular with the more mature guests so one had to be a bit sharpish for the sun beds. There are however numerous other pools for the more active and even a pool (plus a jetty into the sea) for adults only. The restaurants were excellent, we started of in the adult only restauraunt but moved to the family restaurant as that was even better. The a'la carte restaurants were very good and as I became "grandfather" to most of the staff they took great delight in feeding me tequila in the Mexican. On the subject of drinks they were great at cocktails using 'on the whole, imported and branded spirits. There is something for everyone even a small but immaculate fair ground for the children. The only criticism was the hardness of the bed (two large singles pushed together), other than that our room was very spacious overlooking the relax pool, the bathroom well appointed , I was even supplied with a small platform to aid stepping in to the bath for the shower. We will visit again.

Excellent Hotel,Excellent Layout,Excellent food,Excellent weather.
Great idea the adult resturant and pool, only two little points-Dress code rather lax in the evening for dinner only one toaster in morning.
Overall a great holiday and will return..Cannot understand some reviews complaining about diferent aspects of the holiday, but I suppose everyones opinion is different.

Arrived very early in the morning was welcomed by young Turkish guy who showed us where to check in and leave cases... Filled the relevant hotel forms
In and had our cases in our rooms within 20 minutes... Food available 24/7 so no
Matter what time of night or day you arrived there was
Something for everyone - agree that it was mainly aimed at the French, Russians and Germans but it was the 1st time Thomson had done it for the British and a fantastic job they did....

Ate in every themed restaurant during our stay and had birthday cake and champagne ordered for
My Boyfriend for his birthday whilst in the Mexican restaurant and the staff could not do enough...

True you have to phone early to make a reservation, we must have been the lucky ones as we got through 1st time every time, I was by the pool every morning at 7.30 and hardly any beds were taken so we had a choice of where to lay, there was a group of 4 of us and we all agreed we would definitely be back.

Had a couple of days in Side itself and a couple of days at Managvat Market which is a must...had one cloudy day, which luckily it was the day we were leaving and a heavy downpour on night but overall 14 days of excellent
Weather...

Omer, bahere and Purvin in the main 24 hour English bar could not do enough for us, no sooner as we sat down that they knew what you wanted and brought it straight away, yes the Spirirts did at times seem watered down
But if you asked for the branded drinks then they seemed ok...

Overall I would have no problem at all in recommending this place to anyone at all... Kids club, entertainment at the amphitheatre all excellent...

Only downside was the prices they charge in Antalya airport... £10 for 2 slices of pizza so make sure you ask the hotel to do you a packed lunch to take with you, even better it's free....

Enjoy your holiday as much as we enjoyed ours, that was my 1st time to turkey definitely not my last... Anything else you want to know just ask
