“How they got 5* is beyond me!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 July 2011

We went to stay at the lesuire resort as we won a free taster night. We had great expectations after researching the resort and dscovering it was 5*. The customer service was excellent with the exception of one grumpy lady. Staff were very attentive and met all of needs. The other thing that was excellent was the theatre production. The singers were amazing and the show was as good as any west end show I have seen. However, the comedians in between were almost painful!

However, quite frankly almost everything was a dissapointment. Firstly, the food was not up to 5* standard! Powered soup, pork crackling which was inedible and mushy extremley over cooked vegetables. But the worst thing of all was the fact that as a couple we had to share a table with another couple!! On a romantic night away this is not what we want or expected! When we asked for a table for 2 we were told that you had to book it in advance! Who would no to do this??!!

We were also very dissapointed with he activities. We wanted to take part in clay pigeon shooting but was told it was fully booked with only 10 places! the rally carts were not scheduled for the couple of days we were there! Many of the activites are only available for one session, once a week! We also went to take part in the shooting but it was in a small hall with a large amount of people and the guns mounted, not the outdoor ranges we were expecting. The gym and pool was also very disppointing, the gym seemed to need updating and the pool was full with children playing. Also, the beach was nice to walk on but it is very small and could not be used for sunbathing/picnics!

Finally, there was very little atmosphere in the place. The majority of the people staying there are OAP's this is reflected in the decor, food and entertainment. The main bar where evertybody sits is like a residential home with OAP's playing cards. we went to the pub and discovered that there was a man playing on the keyboard to old fashioned songs with OAP's singing along.

Basically, this would be the ideal place for the elderly to go for a break and small children but younger adults 20-50 I would definatly go elsewhere!

Just back from another fantastic holiday at Potters. Food and entertainment were out of this world, Potters Theatre Company gets better and better each year. Staff cannot do enough for you, especially a big thank you to Trish in the restaurant for absolutely lovely service. The daytime entertainment team is fantastic and no matter what the english weather held they kept us busy. Already booked again for next year and cannot wait

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the new hotel extension, ground floor has wet rooms

Our bowls groups from Luton or Dunstable who have been to your vunue many times have always had a marvelous time and .enjoyed excellent accomodation, food and entertainment.
Perhaps a minor issue-car parking could be difficult although we have always made it!

The food was amazing. The sports and activites were well run and really enjoyed. The staff knew what they were talking about. The bungalow was cleaned spotless and was cleaned everyday by time were back from breakfast. The entertainment was first class, you could not get this type of entertainment anywhere else without paying for it. The staff were friendly and could answer anything especially the waiting staff. The food was there as soon as you ordered it. The only thing that could be negative is that there is so much food that you need to go to the gym when you get back, but there is a gym and swimming pool there. Defo will be back soon.

We have stayed at Potters several times now, and always look forward to our next visit. We have stayed in a bungalow, a standard hotel room and a deluxe hotel room. We loved them all. I am usually not a fan of entertainment at parks etc but Potters is different, much more professional, and very enjoyable. Their restaurant is brilliant, the staff are helpful and friendly and the food is excellent. There is so much of it and a great amount of choice. Most enjoyable facilities that we have found anywhere, if you want to there is always something to do, if not you can just relax and unwind. Would recommend Potters to anyone.

Room Tip: Have been happy with each room we have stayed in. Diference between standard and deluxe is minimal.
