Last time we visited it had a standard pub menu with some typical specials, this time it was a disastrous tex-mex of the worst kind.
Staff pleasant, manager unhelpful in the extreme 'you should have asked when you booked' this despite the website still showing the old menu.

We read the description of this pub on their own website and decided it sounded fantastic. So close to Leeds Castle with a good British Pub menu.
We were so disappointed when the menu turned up and it now is a Western Saloon serving ribs and burgers etc.

The pub is typically old and has character, it is just a shame about the menu.

A warning to anybody planning to visit The Windmill pub in Hollingbourne, Kent. If you are expecting to find the traditional English menu that it used to serve to standards varying between respectable and excellent you are in for a rude shock. It has been replaced by a “Ranch House Menu” of inauthentic Tex-Mex and Louisiana clichés with all the appropriateness of a steak and kidney pudding to a Mexican cantina. This is a grotesquely insensitive imposition on a most attractive pub with centuries of history, to which the food now has absolutely no connection. The beer is still good, and staff remain very friendly. The management however should be persuaded to drop this idiotic experiment as swiftly as possible.

Recently, when we were staying at the very nearby Marriot hotel, we had dinner in this nice pub. It is nothing fancy but a nice traditional pub. When we were there they had a big fire burning in the fireplace. Very friendly staff. The food was good. We shared the diep-fried shrimps as a starter ( they gave us two plates when they learned we were sharing) and they were steaming hot and tassty. my husband had the steak which was very good with home-made fries. I had the stir-fried rib-eye with noodles which was also very good. The only thing we really missed were vegetables! My husband had a litle bit of plain salad and I had none! Apart from that a we had a nice evening!
