Richard Phillips in name only, went to this restaurant with high hope, three coarses for £20,starter very good, desert, great, main , very poor, how can a chief not know how to cook roast potatoes, they were so bad, we were a group of four and we all left most of them, we all had rare roast beef, it was so rare that they never had enough to go round.
very poor, never again and we out a lot. this is the first time I have ever felt like writing a review

We hadn't been to the Windmill for years (didnt like the last set-up by previous owners) but went last month and will certainly go again. Lovely food and lovely staff. Nice pub.

Looked forward to a special treat with my partner. Was offered a table immediately and drinks order taken before being given a menu... So wish we had paid for drinks and left!
The 1...YES 1 measly main meal option for vegetarians was a glorified stuffed onion skin at a ridiculous price. We were offered a veggie "starter" in a main meal size and this was a pitiful half a dozen lettuce leaves with some horrendously strong cheese and little else. We just about managed our portion of chips on the side (of which there was 6 for almost £3!!!!)... We wasn't approached by any member of staff to ask if the food was OK... Now I see why! YUK!

We are regular customers at the Windmill, its a fantastic country pub with a lovely garden & great food, i would recommend the Sunday lunches as kids can eat for free as well as the Steak for 2 night for £28. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Sam and Dimitrios. Our only recent disappointment has been the fact that we are regulars and sit at the bar for a drink and we have had empty glasses as Matt has been too busy playing on his phone, so we asked the Greek waiter to take us straight to our table so we could order some wine with our meal. i would recommend the Windmill to any couples or families as you will be well looked after by the waiters.

Booked a table for 5 for lunch for my wife's birthday on the 16th July. Not too busy so seated quickly in isolated area behind the inglenook. Two speakers in this small area playing music made conversation difficult so asked to be turned down. This proved to be difficult so they rearranged the seating to be between them.
Ordered food & wine and they were very accommodating for my daughters restricted dietary needs. Unfortunately the wine I ordered was out of stock so was offered a more expensive bottle with a discount which I accepted.
Food was good quality and typical gastropub fare and annoyingly some dishes served on a plank of wood rather than a plate. My fish pie was good and everyone else liked theirs.
Although we were not in a hurry the service was a bit on the slow side.

Thank John L
