“Amazing for all ages”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013 via mobile

Had a beach hit here for many ŷears and it was fantastic. It's a great place for young children to swim safely as the tide goes out miles and they can stay in depth and view. As stated the sunsets are amazing with Reculver as the haunting back drop. Their are cycles to hire and either walk or cycle to Reculver it's wonderful. You can walk the other way and stumble over rock pools galore. It really does have something for everyone, and the cafe on the beach has really helped. If you have never been you are missing out. Get a barbie swim late evening, and then sidle back home you cannot beat it.

Lovely aspect the most beautiful sunsets. A large green for picnicking and child fun, a small play area. Ice creams, drinks, snacks and formal dining all available. Cycle Hire available for the Coastal Trail to Reculver.

“Nice clean beach”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2013

This is a blue flag beach and you know it when you go to it. Its very clean and has good sand and the water is clean.

There is also an area for rock pools too so the kids won't get too bored in one place. The rock pools is a nice place for them to explore under the rocks for crabs, my kids just love it.

We took a picnic there as there is only one restaurant there no other shops so picnic is perfect.

Make sure you get the tide timings right as when the tide comes in there's not much of a beach left!

Been here 3 times now!

“Nice Clean beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

Bit reluctant to share this review for fear of making this resort too popular. Ample free car parking if you are early enough at weekends. But Pay & display car park also available behind the Minnis Pub & bar.
This is a beach favoured by locals as you need to know the tides. Not a lot of beach at high tide Good clean beach well washed by the tide. Very flat so goes out a long way at low tide. Best point is NO Arcades or fast food huts.
YOU NEED TO TAKE PICNIC IF STAYING FOR THE DAY..
There is an expensive Pub & ice cream kiosk. Expensive beer in Plastic glasses & soggy ice cream.
Popular with local Sailing club so need to stay away from slip ways with young children.
Beach is a credit to Thanet council. Saw no litter. Life guard in attendance & litter pickers walking around just in case.
