“luxurious but quirky hotel”
Reviewed 26 August 2013

We stayed here 2 nights as part of a cycling tour. Room very comfortable with nice bed and sea view (just). No television or radio, but we managed without them!
It does have a tv in the lounge and free wifi
Food was very good in the restaurant for dinner, but breakfast was a bit sparse.
No bar as such; you order drinks from the reception desk.
hotel has no sign outside so could be a problem to find if you don't know where it is.

Room Tip: our room overlooked the sea and had a balcony

This is an old hotel with a newer side building. Our company had one room in the main house, and one in the side building. The room in the side building was large, well decorated, well furnished and had a private patio. The room in the main building was also rather large, but simply furnished, nice (but not private) balcony with a sea view, small bathroom, no television. Sleep quality was quite good. Friendly staff. We had dinner in the evening, and that was good. So was breakfast, although staff had problems filling the small buffet when needed. Nice open fireplace in the reception area. I didn't try the spa, but looked at the facilities - it seemed to be very good. This is a fine place to stay if you want a quiet time to refill your batteries.

Room Tip: Sea view room in the main building is nice, but the rooms in the side building are nicer.

We stayed here for a single night and it was great. The room was new and quite big. There was a small terrace attached to the room and an outside sitting arrangement. Hästens bed, big showerhead with plenty of water and light colors on walls, furniture and bedspreads. Very clean and very nice staff. The only slight disappointment was the incredibly thin/white curtains, the light came in at 04:30 in the morning (welcome to the North and its very light summers!) and I was up at the break of dawn literally.
Otherwise a fantastic hotel and very very recommendable.

Stayed several times at the hotel – private as well as business – and the overall experience is always very good. The atmosphere is relaxed, the staff is friendly and most of the rooms (in the main old building) have a sea view and some a small balcony.
The food is basic incl the wine list and don’t expect to be blown away by the kitchen
This is not luxury or something special but a very charming seaside hotel, worth driving for.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room in the main building - and one with a sea view

I have recently visited this nice place.
It is very close to the sea and the nature around the local area is very nice.
The SPA section is fine and clean - nice place to relax and reload.
Food is not so great and I experienced to arrive (30 minutes before closing) at the breakfast buffet and there where no more eggs and bacon/sausage etc.
If you want a nice relaxing trip without to much luxury or fine cuisine, this is a perfect place.

Stayed at the hotel for one night as part of a work-related offsite. The place has a great atmosphere faithful to the classic beach hotel feeling. The food was great. The view from the hotel over the sea, Kattegat, is beautiful. We never used the wellness facilities besides going for a swim in the sea early morning, but the placed amazed me, and I will definately be going back to this hotel bringing my wife for a romantic getaway at a later stage.

Booked a wellness package at the hotel for a weekend's stay. Upon my arrival, the lack of customer service is apparent as I am handed my key with no information as to the direction of my room, where to go for my massage, where dinner/breakfast is to be had or the hotel's amenities. Not the welcome one expects for an expensive stay. The room in the annex house was minimal to the extent of a nice bed and TV, though the TV and Wifi did not work. My room boasted a patio with nothing more than a chair and table in a concrete space. The toilet and shower are in separate rooms, the basics were missing - like a hair dryer if one is staying at a spa hotel, as there isn't one in the spa area either. The package was to include a 60 min massage - mine lasted 40 mins with the masseuse rushing to leave. The spa facilities like the rooms are at the bare minimum, you have to bring your own towels from your room to use - would have been to get any information from the front desk. Both dinner and breakfast were fine, however the wait staff are less than attentive, leaving one to wait for several minutes to ask for assistance. The main house and sitting areas are nice and to be used as the rooms do not offer operable equipment (i.e., TV, Wifi). Upon checkout, I did express my dissatisfaction with the costly stay and lacking service, was told to book another package and return. Yeah, no thank you.

Room Tip: Pick a room with view else you look out to concrete. Btw, the pool is the sea, it's a short walk...
