The sea in front of the resort is outstanding! Snorkeling is very good: sea turtles, batfish, surgeon fish, trumpet fish, parrot fish, etc. I loved the whole atmosphere: beautiful gardens, nice pool, great food, giant tortoise, lot of birds. They offer a wide range of excursions.
Things you probably won't like: the beach will disappear with high tide, waiters at pool bar are not really quick (15 min for an ice tea), rooms are pretty dark.

Our entire stay at Emerald Cove was abysmal from start to finish. We emailed the hotel three times regarding a shuttle service prior to arriving and we never received any response. We had to rely on a taxi man at the ferry port to direct us on what we needed to do to get to the hotel. On arrival, we were greeted by an Italian lady and after a long winded introduction (which was unwelcome after such a long journey) told us we should pay in full straight away. This is the first time we have ever been asked to pay in full (out of hundreds of hotels worldwide) before ever setting foot in our room. This set the tone for the entire visit as the hotel seemed to pride themselves on finding new and innovative ways to extract money from their unfortunate guests. We were shocked at the dismal, dark and dank room we were shown to, I'd feel guilty leaving animals there not to mind expecting people to holiday in them. The bed linen was old and beyond damp to wet due to the humidity, lighting was non existent, aircon was unbelievably noisy which made it hard to sleep if turned on, mosquito net was torn and stained, we were frequently visited by lizards due to vents not properly closing in numerous locations. One bottle of water to share was the only thing we received complimentary for the whole stay. On one occasion, i needed to print a work document urgently but was informed that there was a charge per sheet which in my opinion is laughable that a hotel would dream of charging for something like this. The hotel treated each guest like a criminal expecting huge deposits for everything from beach towels to adapters. When we asked if reception could organise a ferry for us, we were informed that 'no, they don't do bookings' and handed the ferry timetable. The restaurant/bar area was infested with pigeons and small birds climbing all over tables, cutlery and plates. This is not just one or two but hundreds of birds aggressively looking for food. On one occasion, we were shown to a table that had excrement on it that was never bothered to be cleaned off. As there was no where else to eat while at this isolated hotel, the price of food was extortionate for what was on offer. If wifi is important to you, please don't bother staying at this hotel. There was no TV in any of the rooms but there was a TV room available which is a throwback from the 1960's.

This is a nice hotel for honeymooners but not as much for more practical tourists, since it's quite expensive and there's no road access.
The facilities are nice and well-kept with the sole inconvenience of lack of light because of the venetian blinds. The huts facing the ocean are the nicest. The bathrooms are quite modern, with shower cabins and all amenities (shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and lotion).
There are three giant turtles just wondering around the hotel's gardens. They try to hide under small bushes but don't realize one can spot their big shells from a distance.
The service could be improved. In several occasions we had the feeling that staff in the restaurant couldn't care less about us and our needs. On the contrary we were always impeccably treated at the reception desk and one of the staff here even had the kind gesture of holding the shuttle boat at the pier for us to be able to return to the hotel from the jetty.
There's a lot of Italian tourists, since the owners are Italian. The furniture, the appliances and even yogurts are imported from Italy!
Breakfast is buffet style and very continental (oat meal, crepes, sandwich loaf, yogurts ). Apart from the local fruits, everything else feels too much international or even just Italian.
They serve complementary coffee/tea and cakes between 5 and 6pm. One is also entitled to a complementary bottle of water, which we never got.
The shuttle boat respects the schedule but it's not enough. One is obliged to have dinner at the hotel, since the last boat is at 23h15 but upon request. The last regular boat is at 18h15.
Transfer from the airport costs 30EUR. A taxi will cost half that price.

Room Tip: The huts facing the ocean are the nicest

Great place to relax and enjoy a calm and relax life style. Rooms clean and well kept.
Food needs improvements as not enjoyable. Very basic menu, poor quality (staff canteen style, rather than hotel guests)

Room Tip: I had a great room in front of the ocean! make sure you get one as the sound of the ocean at night is something
